The Monastery of Rusanu, or St. Barbara, is one of the six surviving Meteora monasteries. This monastery complex, like the Monastery of St. Nicholas of Anapavsas, is located on a particularly limited area, so from a distance only one building is represented and only the dome of the temple is visible.

Russanu is one of two nunneries in Meteora. To be honest, I still don't understand how it was possible to build a monastery on this tiny rock!? When you realize that all this was built in the 14th century, in fact, with your bare hands, then a lot of things fall into place in your head.
