There is no antiquity here, but there is an incredibly beautiful wall decoration with paintings, crystal mountain air. There is a museum with very old icons and all kinds of church utensils. If you find yourself here, be sure, since you have already arrived here, drive literally three minutes from the monastery up to the grave of Makarii, it is unreal in all respects - the landscape, the height, the money that someone spent on this whole beauty there. (We won't point fingers).

Every year we go to this monastery, located in the Troodos mountains near Paphos. The road is a bit difficult for those who do not tolerate the road itself - you need to climb up and the road is quite winding. The monastery is simple, no one forces you to buy anything, you can wander around and see. There are different rooms inside the monastery - with particles of saints (you can attach), the main hall itself with images of saints (you can also attach and leave notes) and just internal passages where everyone is allowed to walk. It always fascinates me that you can sit on benches and just sit among these salted icons, and not just stand and watch. Near the main entrance, outside, there are tents with fast food, water and everything you need, I will not say that it is very expensive. Yes, by the way, lavrushka also grows there, so we always bring a little, is that a tradition?)

It has been several years since visiting the Kykkos Monastery, but the sensations of the dizzying road in the Troodos mountains are still unforgettable.. like a butterfly, a huge tourist bus "fluttered along the serpentine mountain roads.. and this is thanks to the skill of the driver.. everything in the monastery is modest, free movement, there is an opportunity to relax in the shade.. The mountains at this height are covered with pine trees, creating a sharp contrast with the scorched lowland at the foot of the mountains..

Guys, we were on an excursion to the monastery. And we bought a small icon of the Mother of God of Kikka as a souvenir. They said it was silver and cost accordingly. The road is long and beautiful. I recommend a trip. I was impressed by the huge number of holy relics. Don't forget your closed clothes. You don't need a hat. There are free toilets on the territory of the monastery. It is more interesting to come either with a guide or with an audio guide. There are many souvenir shops. I bought sacred Kikk wine and Commandaria (I took a two-year-old one and it's not a truly aged commandaria, but it's very tasty), icons, sweets. Advice to tourists- try to take everything in one shop inside the monastery, because then you can arrange Tax-free. And you will definitely spend decently) The views are beautiful. There is something to photograph. There is no holy spring here. But you can ask to consecrate the water.

Very beautiful! We were driving a car, got a little lost and got on a mountain road, up a mountain river. The landscape is like in the cartoon "Beauty and the Beast": a wild forest, impassable places, a road made of stone blocks, an ancient and wild, frightening thicket of a mountain forest with overhanging trees. A tire was punctured, I had to put a spare tire. But we got to the monastery! A path with obstacles and adventures. But it's worth it! The place is unique, very beautiful and the monks are very kind and friendly. It's a pity I didn't have a chance to walk longer, it started to rain and the fog began to descend. We didn't take any chances and left before dark. The place is unusual and unique in beauty and energy, it is worth visiting.
