We went on an excursion with colleagues to Trostenets (death camp), we came across a strange guide (an elderly woman) who had already started broadcasting strange things about the USSR on the bus, that there was no need to defend the Brest Fortress (as many as 7,000 people died), etc. In Trostenets itself, the emphasis was on the deaths of Jews from Austria and Germany who were being transported there (min 30 told), and hundreds of thousands of Slavs, prisoners of war and underground workers in Minsk were mentioned only casually and as something frivolous. I was a little surprised by the story about a German woman who, after learning that her father had burned thousands of civilians, self-immolated. Why would I impose guilt on this woman??? Her father organized the genocide, and they tell me about her tragic fate. Why don't they tell us about the fate of those citizens of the USSR whom this executioner destroyed?? And the conclusion that this "tour guide" made, if I may say so, was that the times were like this! That is, not a word about the Nazi ideology, about subhumans, living space and the Ost plan, but just the times were like that. It's the worst tour I've ever heard!
We went on three excursions, a sightseeing tour of Minsk, the Brest Fortress, Nesvizh and Mir. The first two are the most positive emotions. Many thanks to the guides Nikolai Nikolaevich and Vladimir, as well as to the drivers. Everything was organized at the highest level! The guides are fans of their business, they were afraid to miss even a word, the excursions are so exciting and interesting. All attention is on tourists, every step is thought out for the interest of people. Impressed by these trips, we went to Nesvizh and Mir, to the castles. Guide Yuri and driver Alexey. It was exactly the opposite! The young guys showed in all their glory what it means to work "for the fuck off." Transport is in a deplorable state. Moreover, inside all the shelves are littered with the driver's junk, everything is shabby, there is nowhere to put things. At a time when buses with other groups were quietly waiting for their tourists, those who came to the bus early could sit down and wait for the rest. Our bus was riding in Nesvizh and in the World, no one knows where. We stood, our only group, waiting in the rain. Neither sit down, nor put things down. The guide is not heard at all, he mumbles to himself, made remarks several times. To no avail. He's on his own, the tourists are on their own. It feels like he's serving hard labor. There is no interesting information, only what is available on the Internet: the size of castles, owners, battles. On the way back, I was either on the phone or asleep. I did not forget only to remind myself of the time constantly in order to get back faster. In general, the impressions are absolutely ruined. 👎
When ordering excursions, be sure to ask who the guide will be and what kind of transport. The whole travel experience depends on these two factors in the first place.
On October 10, 2024, BPS-Sberbank decided to make a gift to its former retired employees - organized a trip to Grodno and
the Augustovsky Canal with the help of Minskturist. Yaroslav was our guide, Vadim was the driver. The depth of information, its timeliness, diplomacy, courtesy, humor, precise timing, as well as lunch at a restaurant, a new comfortable bus, driving skills - everything was on top. Thank you for the excellent organization of the tour! Appreciate such employees :-)
