Four-legged Minaret: one of the most unusual minarets in the world.
The Sheikh Matar Mosque was built in 1500 in the Turkish city of Diyarbakir by Kasim Bey. She became famous for her minaret, which is really unique – it stands on four columns, as if on "legs", and is a little far from the mosque itself. These pillars symbolize the four Muslim schools of law, and the minaret itself embodies Islam as a whole. Locals often call it the "four-legged minaret".
Now the minaret is being restored. Historians say that there used to be an observation tower at this place, which was later converted into a minaret.
