A great hotel for a couple of nights, a wonderful buffet breakfast with a wide range, a comfortable bed, silence in the rooms. A huge plus is the presence of an open restaurant with darstankhans on the roof of the hotel, which offers stunning views of the old town and the KALON MINARET, which is literally within walking distance (100 meters). In the evening, the views of the illuminated old town are simply FABULOUS! It is especially worth noting the charming staff of the hotel - responsive and attentive. Thank you for the oriental fairy tale!!!
A very cool historical place, beautiful, without any pathos. You can come here at any time of the day and it is always beautiful 😻
For fans of photo shoots, come here.
In the evening at sunset and a little later, when the backlight is turned on, it is especially beautiful. You can walk, sit, enjoy the view. Romantic, although it is the tower of death.
The legend of the Kalyan Minaret
Many legends are associated with the tallest minaret in Central Asia – the Kalyan Minaret, in Bukhara. The Kalyan Minaret is a large Tower, but it has another name – the Tower of Death, since people convicted by the khan used to be thrown off it. Many legends are associated with girls who were executed on the orders of the khan.
One of these legends says that in ancient times there lived a shah. He was cruel and wayward. He was a bad ruler, and he spent all his time enjoying himself. The shah had a wife who tried to help people and fix the situation in the state. But, being afraid of her husband, she did it in secret. One day, the secret was revealed and the angry shah ordered his wife to be thrown from the Tower of Death. The heroine was an intelligent woman. On the eve of her execution, she asked her husband to fulfill her last wish. He agreed. On the day of the execution, the shahina put on all her dresses and skirts and climbed the tower with her head held high. All the people gathered around the minaret to see off their beloved ruler. The wise woman calmly stood on the edge of the minaret and jumped down. The people froze, but at the same moment shouts were heard in the crowd: "Oh, a miracle!" The woman did not die, because her dresses inflated with a parachute and gently lowered her down to the ground. Paying tribute to his wife's courage and ingenuity, the shah canceled the execution.
It is a very beautiful monumental structure. This minaret is considered a symbol of Bukhara. At the foot of the Kalyan minaret are located the Miri Arab Madrasah and the Kalyan Mosque, which together form an architectural ensemble. Next to the minaret is the kunzhak women's hammam, an architectural monument of the 16th century, which is under state protection. This hammam is still in operation. Going inside, you are instantly transported to an oriental fairy tale, you feel the spirit of that century!
A truly fabulous place.
It's like fairy tales come to life from the pages of the Scheherizade.
Atmospheric, magical, cozy.
Illuminated, the minaret is transformed, but at dawn it is no less beautiful.
To get beautiful photos, it is better to come around 6-7 in the morning or after 23 o'clock.
The place is stunning in beauty and energy, the illumination of architectural masterpieces in the evening is competently and tastefully decorated in a modern way!
If you are going to Uzbekistan, be sure to visit!
The central place and, as I believe, the business card of Bukhara. Everything is beautiful neat clean and crowded,
The photo in Yandex turned out exactly like ours, but I can't attach it because it has faces
The beautiful minaret of pre-Mongolian architecture is the center of attraction of tourist flows. Perhaps the main symbol of the city. Like many things in Uzbekistan, you have to watch at different times of the day, the most vivid impression is the night light.
Here the city was beautiful and the people,
He was and is, and always will be.,
And Ark Fortress is his stronghold
And this city is Bukhara.
My ancient city, I was born there,
He lies like a horseman in the middle of the desert
And in the center is the Kalyan Minaret,
It stood then, and it still stands today.
I really liked there a lot of historical buildings, it's also nice to be mentally straight! And there is a market in general, you can walk there for at least 3-4 hours!
A beautiful landmark of the city of Bukhara. It is difficult to talk about such places, such places need to be visited and viewed by yourself. I liked it very much. I recommend it for a visit.
It's beautiful, what to say. In the evening with backlight, in the afternoon with its sandy color - the east! On this square there are madrasahs and a mosque, the old town begins with narrow streets and an oriental flavor.
I found peace here, I was delighted, we took pictures, but it's better not to go on hot days. We read the midday prayer in the masjid, there is a separate place for women. I recommend
It's a very beautiful place. It's worth a visit and be sure to take a photo for memory. But I do not advise buying something there, because they sell very expensive because of foreigners. It is better to visit the bazaar where there are the same things but at more pleasant prices.
A wonderful, fabulous place. The beauty is extraordinary. Kalyan Minaret is a must-visit place for all tourists of Bukhara! The famous Kalyan Minaret is 46.5 m high .. At one time, the Kalyan minaret was an observation post, then a place of public execution. Many legends are associated with this majestic structure. For example, why did Genghis Khan burn the Kalyan Mosque, but did not touch the minaret? It is said that when he came to the foot, the commander threw back his head to look at the minaret. At that moment, either from a gust of wind, or from the fact that the minaret was very high, the hat fell from the noble head of the great commander. It was this fact that became the reason for the khan's mercy, since not in front of every building did His Serene Highness take off his monarch's headdress.
This is the minaret of the Friday mosque. It was built in 1127 from high-strength burnt brick with a height of 46.5 m. The tallest and oldest building in Bukhara. It is included in the UNESCO list. It has reached our days in almost unchanged form. Even Genghis Khan, who captured and destroyed Bukhara in 1220, did not raise his hand to destroy this stone miracle. The minaret served not only as a religious building, but also as a watchtower and a lighthouse, which was used to navigate in the desert. It was partially destroyed by the Red Army, at the time of the voluntary annexation of Turkestan to Russia, and is now restored and is the pearl not only of the city, but of the whole of Uzbekistan. A light airy minaret, as if soaring into the sky. The delicate delicate stone tracery on its walls attracts the eye. No matter how many times I passed by, I couldn't help but stop, I couldn't help but admire. One of the wonders that will never be erased from memory.
Ltd. Well, it's just super. I don't even know where to start getting to know this country., but the fact that Bukhara is worth and should be visited is for sure!
If you want to save money, do not eat in the center, step back a little or leave and buy where the locals eat, it's delicious and atmospheric there, well, if you don't need a rest.
We lived within walking distance. The minaret is especially good at night, when the contrasting illumination emphasizes the oriental ornament of the brickwork. If you look closely, you can see the bright areas of the restoration masonry, which healed wounds from the destruction of the Civil War. It's a very beautiful place. It is possible to rent costumes, weapons and hats for spectacular photos)))
Certainly impressive. It looks impressive during the day, amazing at night. The tallest minaret in Bukhara. Nearby, you can take pictures in national headdresses (very fun).
It's a beautiful place, very. But I do not advise buying drinks and so on from the store opposite. They sell everything more expensive especially to tourists. Once there was a case when the saleswoman told me not to show the money that I gave to buy some water, allegedly to tourists she would announce a different price and took the money so that tourists would not see. I didn't like it, it's not fair.
The famous landmark of great Bukhara. It is worth visiting with a guide and listening to the legends about this minaret. It is a very beautiful and very exciting place.
The minaret is simply epochal. Be sure to visit it both in the afternoon and in the evening, when it will be all illuminated. Just a unique structure with a height of more than 40 meters. It is built entirely of bricks. Around you can see how different rings form a unique ornament with bricks. At the top of the minaret there are speakers that broadcast the AZAN - the call of Muslims to prayer. By the way, the mosque to which the minaret belongs is operational, all Muslims who wish can perform prayer.
It's great both day and night! It is a very beautiful place, it is advisable to visit with an excursion to find out all the historical details! For beautiful photos, you need to come very early!
The place is wonderful, I don't know how others are, I burst into tears in the mosque, so many things came flooding in, so many emotions are exciting, although this is my first time there
A masterpiece of architecture of the XII century. The highest point of the old city of Bukhara. Especially the minaret performs a religious task, where the muezzin calls for prayer. There are epigraphic inscriptions in three places: a saying from the Koran, information about the date and the name of the ruler. It is a pity that in 1920 the minaret was very badly damaged. Now the minaret shines golden at night and looks very beautiful. It is very convenient for photo lovers
Autumn is beautiful both in the afternoon and in the evening.
In the evening, the backlight will turn on, which creates a special impression of a fairy tale
The authentic atmosphere of ancient Bukhara conquers at first sight. Not everyone will be able to appreciate its narrow streets and dilapidated old houses of artisans. I fell in love with this city. I'll be back 100%
I visited Uzbekistan for the first time and visited Bukhara! An interesting country for tourism, and Bukhara is simply one of the pearls on the colorful dress of this country! The minaret impresses with the grandeur and at the same time the grace and beauty of the architects of that time! I advise everyone and I hope to come back again!
It's very beautiful, especially in the evening. A special atmosphere. Take a guide on a tuk-tuk in the evening, he will show you all the sights in 45 minutes and tell you.
Very beautiful. A wonderful place, especially in the evening with lighting. Take a walk and enjoy those times of inspiration. Very beautiful Bukhara, the old city.
Locals call him the Bride of Bukhara ♥️, as at sunset you can admire his beautiful golden outfit. The unique and tallest building of the Old City. The splendor of the masterpiece can hardly be found anywhere else. The most iconic place of Bukhara, the symbol of the city!
It's a beautiful place. You look at it and you can't imagine how the ancestors could have built such a thing! There is a place around as if there are no modern houses and roads nearby. Come and see, it's very informative!!!
The view is charming, the historical architecture, a very interesting tour.

After passing through the square, you
plunge into narrow original streets where people really live, children run, and after passing through this maze you get to the temples and him: the symbol of Bukhara - the Kalyan minaret. If you were born in the USSR, then you will surely remember the oriental fairy tales about Ali Baba and others that you loved since childhood. fairy tales of the 1000th and 1st nights, the film adaptations of which took place in Bukhara.
I was in Bukhara on June 22 and 23, 2024, so that you understand, this is not the season, i.e. The heat is 40'S. I arrived from Tashkent on the Afrosiab express, on June 22 from 15.00 to 21.30 I took an excursion, it's 7 hours! He is not dead, but on the contrary he is happy, the main thing is to take or buy and drink water, a headdress, a shade! It was in Bukhara that I felt Central Asia, it was on
A very interesting, atmospheric place. We lived near the supermarket and other attractions. I thought and Khiva are obligatory to visit. And it is also necessary to go to the fortresses in Kyzylkum in Khiva.
