The airport is generally not bad, but there are points that can be improved. The building itself is modern and spacious, the navigation is clear, it is difficult to get lost. Registration and inspection are quick, without unnecessary delays, the staff is polite and tries to help. However, the waiting areas could be more comfortable — there are not enough seats, especially during rush hour. The prices of food and drinks in the cafe are clearly overpriced, and the choice is not the most diverse. But, in general, the airport copes with its task, although it is still far from ideal.
We spent about 12 hours at Shymkent airport, a very interesting experience for zoomers without currency with them. A comfortable massage chair in which you can sleep for 12 minutes, if you fold up like an embryo, there is an outlet nearby, so you can play fool online or Subway surf all night. Special respect for the blue chairs for a good sleep from 3 to 6 hours. It smelled delicious from the coffee shop, it's a pity we didn't have money, we're poor students... it was very nice to stand in the boarding queue, a lot of people stuck to each other, it felt so good to be surrounded by love, everyone was trying to snuggle closer to each other to feel the warmth of the soul... the man who kicked he obviously wanted to say something, it's a pity that he didn't say anything, but it's not his fault... we dream that there would be free water at the airport, it's hard without currency... minus one star, because the second massage chair squeaked when you sit on it. Otherwise , the class is especially squeaky chair
The airport is not very convenient, poor ventilation, not enough seats in the waiting room. There are places to understand correctly, but for an airport with so many air hubs and transfer points, this is not enough, the airport itself is also very small and was obviously forgotten in the process of modernization of Kazakhstan. Flights are often delayed and therefore people in very difficult conditions have to wait for hours. For all those who are in limbo, a life hack is literally 5-8 minutes by car from the airport, there are simple inexpensive guest houses. It is best to take a room in them for the night. Go to the room with the whole family and sleep together on a double bed until it's time for the rescheduled flight. And for one thing, if you have time to have breakfast at the hotel and as a B&B, you can also arrange a free transfer to and from the airport
A small international airport. Everything is there, just like at any other international airport. The staff is polite. The waiting room is present. Clear. The waiting time depends on the time of arrival for departure.
For such a large city with its agglomeration, of course, a larger airport is needed, but this old Soviet airport is well renovated, located relatively close to the city limits. Overall it is nice, cozy, compact. The square, sidewalks, and driveway are in good condition. There were no problems with calling a taxi. International flights from the airport are accepted and depart, the runway allows. It's a little cramped for passengers in the boarding gate area, it would be good to allocate a separate corridor for passengers with young children, otherwise some people experience severe stress before flights from their screaming and crying.
I estimate only the current old airport. An old airport, very cramped, chaotic, uncomfortable. The departure area after the inspection is very small, although there is a toilet and waiting chairs, a small coffee shop and a shop. It's pretty dirty everywhere.
The most important thing is that a new, spacious and modern terminal will open soon (located right next to it) and it is right to evaluate it.
We flew from Turkey to Tashkent and it so happened that it was much cheaper to fly to Shymkent and get to Tashkent by bus. A normal airport for a small city. It requires reinvention, but there is nothing unpleasant inside, it is just shabby. We waited a long time for the customs officer, but the luggage was given out surprisingly quickly, for which special thanks. Very persistent taxi drivers at the exit(
The airport is very compact! You can immediately navigate the halls! The service staff is working at the highest level! They will explain everything and advise you! We are waiting for the opening of the new airport, which is about to open!
A nice, cozy, warm but small airport. A large terminal will open soon. The staff is friendly and helpful. Ayer Arystan and Skat are the best companies.
The airport is small, of course, but it has everything for a comfortable stay, waiting, etc! And most of all, the savages from the Russian Federation surprised us that the bus goes to the city, directly from the airport, number 12, or 6, I'm afraid to make a mistake, but it runs from 05:30 to 19 or 20 hours!
An interesting experience. I don't plan to repeat it.
We flew on a night flight from Almaty to Antalya. There is not much space, I managed to sleep on the benches for 30 minutes at night. Then a lot of people packed up for the flight. When passing through passport control, be prepared to face rudeness and lack of any manners when communicating with passengers. This is a real test of nerve strength. I recommend passing silently and not reacting to the inappropriate behavior of employees.
At pegasus, things are weighed with hand scales. So if you are unlucky and you have an advantage, eat another portion of rudeness.
From the good: there is a store with normal prices, where they don't seem to be rude. And a cafe, but I didn't take any chances here.
Everything is located nearby, compact, convenient. An ordinary well-maintained airport with an excellent staff.
We are looking forward to the opening of a new one
A small airport, how many times we arrived there was always a bus, the sleeve is probably not provided. In general, it is not bad, but the waiting room is very small, there is not really a store, there are some stalls. The customs did not have a correct database at all, they were detained for 3 hours and charged with dual citizenship, their passports were taken away, they did not want to listen to anything, they threatened to sue until they found a certificate that they had given the passport to the embassy 2 years ago, but this was not entered in their database. A lot of wasted nerves. Why should it be my problem? That's the kind of hospitality....
Thanks for the positive flight!) the staff on board is polite, friendly and smiling!!!)))) I took a ride in Moscow Shymkent and back with pleasure!!!!)))))Thank you very much!!!)))
So far, the usual old Soviet airport has one floor. Now a modern two-storey beautiful airport is being built nearby. Of the advantages, there is a large parking lot, a lot of space on the street.
We flew to Almaty with a transfer in Shymkent. It's a real disaster. Small, crowded, at 3 am, everything is piled up, in the waiting room, if you can call it that, everyone is sleeping in a habit, there are packages of water, cookies on the side, someone is sitting on them.
Hot. However, there is a cafe at the entrance on the left, no one came in there, a pleasant girl is napping, we took a coffee cup. No one comes in. True, the tile fell off the wall with a crash onto our table, but it was probably on purpose so that we wouldn't doze off)) They were scared .We went out into the street as it blossomed, there is not much to go to the highway, parking, a small square. Shops but it smells of the East, birds are singing.
It is better to fly straight without a transfer.
A very, very small airport. Both the check-in area and the departure area. The seats are not separated by armrests. Therefore, especially gifted people simply lie down in full length on rows of chairs in one harya. There is no place to sit down here in a tiny airport, but they lie and just sleep. The air conditioning system is not coping. Airport workers (customs and border guards) are sleeping... They announced registration, handed over their suitcases, but there are no customs and border guards... Within an hour, one person came to check the documents.
It seems to be an international airport... It feels like a collective farm hangar with airplanes.
The only plus in all the heat and stuffiness without seats is the presence of a smoke arena, for which an asterisk was put.
The city is very beautiful and not small.. The airport is small and convenient.. Everything that is necessary for passengers is there... But again, Sheremetyevo is a work of art..
It's a terrible airport, it's not clear how such a stream of international flights was created there. The airport building is small, morally and physically outdated, parking is very small, the reception area is generally dead, there are no facilities for greeters, all windows are covered with films, 3 benches and one coffee machine for waiting when it is cold, it is very inconvenient since the doors open immediately to the street and cold air enters this room directly, there are several departure terminals in the building itself, but they are extremely inconvenient, since there are other luggage packing machines, check-in counters, etc. in the lobby of the building. And this is all in a small room, if there are several flights, then people like at the bazaar cannot breathe, and it is impossible to sit down somewhere at all. In general, for the city of millionika, this airport is no longer suitable, and in general, it is better to avoid visiting it if possible.
A small, cramped airport in which chaos begins as soon as check-in for a Moscow flight opens. And this queue for border control! And the city has been a millionaire for a long time!
In general, if you want to plunge into such an atmosphere, then hurry up to use Shymkent airport, since the long-delayed launch of a new modern terminal is planned.
the worst airport and attitude to people!
in the international "terminal", upon arrival, a smoking room WITHOUT VENTILATION is made in the corner!!! all the stench goes into the main room, and valiant guards in the form of customs control drive those who arrive into the building, not allowing them to wait outside in the fresh air or even at the open door. they even defiantly threaten to close the door - blocking the only air access to the created gas chamber!
PLEASE remove the smoking room or make normal ventilation and poison people!!! provide a sufficient number of employees who are able to work adequately and quickly in case of arrival of two simultaneous flights!
Our airport is good, but at the moment it is a small one for our city. The terminal should be opened as soon as possible. The big disadvantage is the high cost of food and drinks. But in general, I like our airport.
The airport is not large, the staff provides assistance in any situation if possible. Prices are expensive in shops and cafes, but this is normal for the airport.
We are waiting for the opening of the new terminal!
The functionality is 5+, the building is like a bus station. Apparently, nothing more is needed. But you definitely won't get lost. The exterior of the building has a pleasant soulful slogan in two languages. Beautiful trees and southern birds are singing. I was at night
It is a very modest airport for such a beautiful city as Shymkent. It's cramped, not cozy, and even a little visually uninviting. Although the staff is as attentive as possible and tries to serve passengers at the proper level. This airport resembles the bus station of a provincial town.
Expectedly small! Unexpectedly with a very expensive VIP lounge. With a friendly barista in a coffee shop. You can also drink beer and charge your phone there. In general, it is normal.
I flew with Aeroflot on December 14, 2024, early in the morning. The fare was without luggage, but you can carry an Aeroflot bag of no more than 10 kg. Since I was smoking gifts back, I carefully read the Aeroflot Rules and found out that you can add a backpack of no more than 5 kg to 10 kg. On boarding, when issuing a boarding pass, the young man began to prove that there was no weight limit of 10 kg and I had to pay extra, I had a 9 kg bag and a 5 kg backpack, I had to pay extra for 4 kg. I didn't seem to mind, but when an Aeroflot representative came and I explained everything to him, he gave me a boarding pass at no extra charge. Read the rules carefully and contact the airline's representatives!
It's great that there is an airport in the city, and there are direct flights to Moscow. In general, the airport is small, cramped and crowded, there are no cafes in the departure areas (but you can buy coffee / sandwiches / samsa / etc.)
It's a terrible place, as if it's not the airport of a city of national importance. There is a one-door exit for all flights, a lot of people, the heat is in the room - one woman fainted, which scared everyone very much. Upon arrival, I could not find a toilet, because it is not in the arrival hall (or closed), in any case, there is not a single corresponding sign on the doors
the airport is narrow, all flights are mixed, you don't know who Kayda!in a small area of the vyleta sector, Astana,Aktau, Almaty tagdy have completed flights in other directions!it is a pity that the blood is found in a narrow place, worse!new airport should be in Shymkent...........................................
Good. Inside the waiting room, there is a departure and arrival screen in only one place. We need to put some on. The toilet in the men's departure lounge light turns off automatically quickly. We need to add time. Thanks
Free Wi-Fi.and it works well.otherwise, it is more or less civilized. If you are a nonresident, you may have problems with parking. But you drive a little further and everything is OK. There are places.
It feels strange. It's not particularly attractive at the international level, especially the arrival area, but on the other hand, everything is nearby and in quick access. While you are going through customs clearance, your luggage is already waiting for you with impatience.
A very modest airport.
The key is crumpled and messy.
It does not correspond to a city of one million people.
You expect to see such an airport in a city of 300 thousand people - in this case, it is an event in itself and you don't expect anything else from it.
VIP/ CIP halls, although of a low level in general, perform their function and at least you can get peace of mind in them.
I was "lucky" to arrive in Shymkent, a cold, small airport, there is no waiting room. My husband met us, he had to stand in the cold because they wouldn't let us in.
My son and I also froze while we were waiting for customs control.
Please note, I only rate the airport, not the city itself and its residents.
I wish residents and guests of Shymkent a nice, spacious and warm airport
The staff is polite, ready to go to a meeting in case of disputes. Cleanliness in the waiting room. I was confused by the size of the airport-it's too small for today's flight traffic. It's as cramped as a balloon booth. And it seems to be fine.
A small airport.
Everything is very compact and at the same time quite convenient.
Quick check-in and baggage check-in, then passport control is also fast.
The international hall is also small.
In general, the airport left quite a good impression, in the only negative in the cafe I took coffee and a doughnut with cream - it was mildewed, immediately changed
Well, what can I say when passengers are taken to the plane in a bus in which the handles are tied with tape, the air conditioner is forgotten, and the bus itself is about to fall apart. And apparently there is no second big bus, because the second bus is customized in the form of an urban two-door semi-low floor (!!!) A Yutong without air conditioning, with burned-out lamps and generally it is not clear where it came from.
A small airport, cozy, surrounded by greenery in spring. Although small, there is everything you need, even a prayer room. It looks modern on the one hand, monumental on the other
Everything is OK, you can live, but everything outdated, from the layout to the design, is quite cramped. There is a basic cafe and a mini-shop on departure.
