Super airport!
Big. Usual prices for food and not overcharged.
The one disadvantage that customs service shakes you up completely. Contrary to international rules, they will confiscate anything they want, even what is not on the prohibition list for transportation.
The airport is ok in principle, but it has all the disadvantages of airports in India: 1. There is a security guard at the entrance who needs to prove that you have the right to enter the airport. To do this, he needs to present a ticket, that is, go through all the registration at home and print the boarding pass! It is very inconvenient for ordinary tourists, especially those traveling from some jungle. The guard doesn't make any allowances for skin color: they said not to let you into the airport without a ticket, and he won't let you in. What check-in counters do at the airport is a mystery, with such a system they can be abolished. 2. The food at the airport is very spicy and tasteless. 3. Security checks are insanely strict: even cosmetic scissors with a blade less than 1.5 cm and a hammer for tuning a small harpsichord had to be thrown out. Questions about how this can be used for bad purposes should not be asked. The guards are stupid, they have no right to think
A great port. I thought it wouldn't be very good, but it turned out to be very good! Everything is intuitive, but it is better to arrive in advance. The queues are incredible. We flew in October.
The international terminal is large, modern and un-Indian clean. But even in the old (now internal) one, there were no bred, molested, "helpers" and "taxi sir" in the same way. But in both cases, they managed to withdraw money from the first or second ATM they came across (for India it's cool), and without commission, have a cheap snack, and then go to the city for a penny on a comfortable bus with a condom. He flew for the last time in January 2020, after two and a half months in India. At the immigration for the first time in 14 years of trips to India, they asked for 5-7 minutes about what they had been doing in the country for 2.5 months, and whether I planned to return in the near future (I did not plan, I flew to Thailand). I told him how it was, there were no more questions. This is probably due to the popularity of the airport for visa-runners among "seasoners", so it is better for the latter to be ready to answer questions and have the necessary documents.
Everything is perfectly clean. We took off from Terminal 3 in 2019. There were almost no queues, but the service was not fast. Security asks you to get all the electronics out of your bags, including camera lenses.
As a result, it took an hour for baggage check-in, passport control and a security check.
There are luxurious chairs in the sterile area in the waiting room. There are Burger King and many other eateries with airport prices.
The airport is gorgeous. Clean, simple. I flew to Trivandrum in April. No fuss, everything is fine. The staff is friendly and smiling. I enjoyed the flight. 🛩 🛫 🛬 ✈
There is no check-in desk for passport control and customs for business class. Crazy crowds of people everywhere. Documents and tickets are checked every 10 meters. There is 1 ball of food in the business hall. Everything is very sad.
Very clean, the staff are polite, smiling, I would kill tourists like us - they were stupid after the flight specifically, they didn't put their passports in their hands and didn't understand what they wanted from us at all. But they explained everything to us a hundred times, smiled at all our grunts and mutterings. Very pleasant impressions
