I was in it a long time ago in 2014. I was transferring from domestic to international airlines there. The airport is large and convenient with good navigation.
A good airport, we liked the attitude and cleanliness. The staff is very polite and immediately in the building you can order a transfer and there are many currency exchange offices.
Oh, this is my favorite airport, it's a pity there are no seats in the halls. I had to sit on the floor. Navigation and terminals are conveniently located.
A modern airport, quite convenient, there are several business halls and a separate smoking room - terribly expensive for some reason to enter). In general, the airport is excellent and safe, if not for the constant cancellation and postponement of AirMexico flights, which is why hundreds of passengers always accumulate at the airport. Be careful - the registration procedure for ALL flights (both domestic and external) during the pandemic is greatly complicated by a completely stupid process when you are forced to download a special application at the airport, fill it out, get a QR code for boarding and present it for check-in. This will need to be done even if you have a piece of paper with a negative test. Firstly, will not all of our phones have internet connection? secondly, the questionnaire is terribly detailed and in Spanish or English. Be careful and feel free to add at least 40 minutes to the time at the airport for this procedure.
Exchangers. A large airport with everything you need in general. There are both domestic and international flights, there is a good capsule hotel a la star wars, it is best to exchange currency also at the airport-the most profitable exchange rate in the city, only it is better to change dollars into pesos near departure and not arrival. The course is much better. You can also buy a SIM card with the Internet. There is something to eat. Transport accessibility - near the metro. In general, put an Uber on yourself right away and save a lot of money on a taxi.
Confusing, incomprehensible, boarding gate by zones. The exits are constantly changing, it is difficult to generally understand where to go. And domestic flights are generally considered as a separate art form. The distance between the boarding gates is about a kilometer. In order to reach exit 20, you need to stomp for at least 40 minutes.
There is a huge airport, several terminals, and a train runs between them. A big plus is that you can get here from Mexico City by metro. The big disadvantage is that most of the airport staff do not speak English. However, their willingness to help and bring them almost by the hand to the right place redeems it.
The airport according to the host country, once you find yourself in it, you do not feel comfortable, the staff is strict and not particularly friendly, the toilets, although Clean, are constantly staffed. I have been to quite a lot of airports, but I have no desire to return to this one.
Despite the hot post-New Year period, the airport was surprised by the absence of any fuss, a somewhat contradictory combination of Mexican non-tension with relaxation.procedures, and catchy patterns of local fashion designers in the duty free zone. Plus, it's perfectly clean.
Arrived - clearly. Good-natured staff, all Russians, Uzbeks, Ukrainians, Azerbaijanis, etc. are allowed in, no one is deployed, no one is taken anywhere for interrogation (you did not fly to Russia), well, that Mexico City and keep the migrant for 180 days. 4 I bet because it was mega difficult to fly back... complicated logistics, it feels like people come here one way and don't come back.
A large airport. I didn't notice many waiting areas (maybe I just didn't have time to pay attention). But you can easily find the direction of the exit to boarding the plane.
A large airport, quite convenient. There are several hotels that can be accessed without leaving the airport building. There are two terminals, between which an electric train runs every 15 minutes.
There are 2 terminals at the airport: T1 and T2, a shuttle runs between them. T1 has very long distances, since it is stretched along the runway, T2 is more compact. There is a lot of mess: on national flights, the gates can be changed at the very last moment, you will have to run. In the case of an international transfer, you still need to go through migration control and get your luggage.
A huge airport. Therefore, the navigation system is very inconvenient. You can get lost and walk in circles. Calculate the time before going to the boarding gate, you can walk up to 20 minutes to some exits.
A huge airport, very huge. Shops, cafes are all there. But the staff wants to leave a better opinion, first they were put in the bullpen on arrival, because of a typo in the invitation, they sat for 2 hours. Then, on departure, they made brains out of a piece of paper with a seal and pretended that they did not understand English, but in general the vehicle was normal.
Everything is fine, but there are "buts", firstly, very slow mexes on registration and you wait for luggage for a very long time, secondly, with a trolley on which you will not reach the car, you will only get out of the arrival area longer or drag your luggage yourself or receptive mexes with trolleys will help (naturally not for free)
The airport is standard according to the project. It seems that the same project is in progress all over the world - both in South Asia and in Mexico. There are shops and cafes, fast food (there is Carl's jr - it is not often that you can find it all over the world - this is the premium segment of fast food).
Everything is quite decent.
There are enough places to wait. The waiting rooms are large, with armchairs, cafes, bars and shops. Duty free takes up most of the space as standard. A little bit of local flavor adds a set of local products (sweets, a wide selection of tequila) in addition to those that can be found all over the world.
The registration area is organized in sections on the 2nd floor - in each on the left and right of the counter, then the passage to the inspection area is a kind of boxes). According to this scheme, check-in and inspection zones are organized at airports in South Asia. As I say, everything is standard and convenient.
Clear navigation, you can buy local alcohol and souvenirs in duty free. But the choice is better in the city. The city center can be reached inexpensively by bus. To do this, you need to buy a card in the slot machine and put money on it. The fare is 30 per person. Taxis are somewhat more expensive than in Moscow, but they are driven by a Chevrolet suburban. You can get into a big traffic jam in the city.
The most unfriendly airport, the suitcase was lost both ways, there is no navigation, it is better to take time for a transfer with a reserve, since you will have to figure it out using the poke method)
You need to take more care with your luggage during the transfer. It happens that you put it in the wrong place and it will not fly to you, but the problem for me is that they do not understand English, and I do not know Spanish.
Convenient halls and transfer between terminals, reasonable duty free.
Special thanks to the girls on the information, they helped solve the problem with baggage transfer.
I would like to have Spanish restaurants, Starbucks with burger King is not needed.
I didn't like it, some small things were stolen from my luggage. Okay, bv is only with me, the three of us flew from Tijuana to Moscow, the luggage was in transit, some small things were stolen from everyone's luggage - a mouse for a laptop, audio speakers, in short, each for $ 50-60. Most likely, in Mexico City, since there was very little time in Tijuana before the BVL flight, they arrived "right next to each other", and after Mexico City there were different flights. A friend had a lock on his bag, it was opened and then closed. In short, pack your luggage, so it will be more reliable and good impressions about Mexico will remain.
Pour fries, as in other airports, are expensive. But, I was pleased with the presence of a smoking room. The ticket costs $5. The price includes coffee and drinks. You can use the smoking room several times with a ticket.
Everything is clear, fast, and specific. Clear logistics. Out of harmfulness, I will note the long time of taxiing to the terminals. However, this is understandable - a large international hub. Consider it an admission of weakness to want to get off the plane as soon as possible after a long flight, and the plane is still taxiing to the terminal...
There are few places where you can sit down at the airport when disembarking. There are no sockets to be found. If there is a waiting for some reason, then you will have to sit on the floor.
Considering that this is the business card of the country, then 3.
The old stuff is not quite clean
The toilets are in terrible condition. The taxi, with the permission of the authorities, is just a mafia .
Even terminal 2 is already too old, cramped, dirty, and the information on the monitors at the boarding gates is poorly visible. There is no free WiFi.☹️
