Before staying this time, it was one of my favorite hotels by: location, condition of the hotel and room stock, hotel staff. This time I was disappointed, but not so much with everything previously listed, but with the policy of the hotel manager. The hotel has a good location 2 minutes from the metro (green line), from here you can get quite promio to Festival City, to Dubai Mall ..etc. Sightseeing sites of the Emir. The bus station is nearby, the bus station is 2 metro stops away. Local cafes, pizzeria, coffee shop, supermarkets, gold market and all sorts of things.. and of course, if the renovated old Dubai is on the side of the hotel, then on the other side there is the flavor of the good old Deira (with garbage, dirty streets ...). The rooms are all fresh, depending on the category with and without a coffee machine, but there is a kettle everywhere, as well as a water filter (not bottled water). Wonderful, kind staff What was my problem this time - I was with my family! There were 4 adults of us, 1 teenager 13 years old (booked as an adult) and 2 children (3 and 9 years old). I booked directly in the Assog network app. The system gave me an offer: standard room + family offer 2nd room 50% discount, the choice of room category with bed type is available only for one room, the second is assigned automatically, similar to the first (well, I thought, I'll ask at the counter, since the type of beds is always upon check-in). There was no information that an extra bed was not provided. I assume: room 2bp +1 child (separate beds)- we will ask for an extra bed , a room with one bed - it will be for an adult + a teenager + a kid.. my ideas have remained mine. They give me two numbers when I register: 1. With a request for a connecting door, I get an answer - there are no such, but there will be rooms nearby, well, OK, one night (at the same time, when one was placed, for some reason they gave it a room with a connecting door)
2. Room one with 2 beds, 1 with one large one. Answer: you have booked rooms with 2 beds, there are no others. OK
, we take the keys and go to the room. There are 2 single beds in one and the second room, only 1 +1 can be accommodated there. I ask room service for an extra bed in at least one room, they tell me to go to the reception desk, since they do not put an extra bed in these rooms.
I'm going down to the counter. I call the manager, he comes. I'm explaining the situation. The answer is an affirmative NO: "WE DO NOT PUT AN EXTRA BED IN THESE ROOMS, THERE IS NO PLACE (although there was a place, exactly for an extra bed). Then I ask for one room with a large bed, in response I will teach you: "I do not see the difference between 2 beds and one large one, if you want, in your case, upgrade the room to a family room, with payment" (i.e. the fact that on 2 single beds a person falls into a hole, but on a large bed there is no, it does not take that is, after long discussions, I was offered to pay for an upgrade, sleep as is, and these are my problems, because I chose what the system offered, well, the option was to cancel the reservation without penalty. Unfortunately, the family refused to move to another hotel. The result is a sleepless night. Blankets were not brought, there were 2 towels in the room, at my request to give one more, they doubted for a long time and clarified why they gave me.
The hotel is very clean and cozy. Pros - near the metro, well-developed infrastructure (there is a supermarket, restaurants, pharmacy), the price / quality is consistent, there is an excellent panoramic pool on the roof. Cons - far from the center (old town).
