I had a rest from February 12 to February 24, 2025. I'm alone, I'm 68 years old. I was very happy there.
I chose this hotel based on the price and the reviews that helped me. That's why I'm also writing a review, maybe it will help someone.
I arrived at 8 a.m. and was immediately checked in. It's a very nice little area. The room has 2 balconies, the bed is clean, but not snow-white. The air conditioner and fan were working properly. There was always water, and there was very little water pressure on the 2nd floor. There were no insects in the room, except for mosquitoes. There is no refrigerator, kettle, or TV in the room. The safe at the reception is 50 rupees per day.
It is very pleasant in the morning, after leaving the room, to immediately sit down at a table on the grass and have breakfast with the birds singing (although symbolically -2 toasts, butter, jam, tea or coffee). a peaceful, pleasant atmosphere. Nearby, there is a nicely equipped smoking area.
When leaving the hotel, turn left to the main road - 5 minutes and turn left again to the center. To the right of the hotel is the beach- 5 min. On the way to the main road, on the right, (literally 1 min walk from the hotel) there is a very good ALMAZ cafe. Very simple, without music, sooo delicious and 2-3 times cheaper. The hosts, husband and wife, Portuguese Alma and Antonio, are very nice people.. Alma cooks by herself. I regret that I didn't go there right away. But further down the road to the main road, at the turn on the right, there was the HARRY HOUSE restaurant with live music, which was expensive and tasteless to me.Alma's fish is delicious, but it's disgusting in the restaurant. Maybe I was just so unlucky.
The beach is gorgeous and clean. shakes left and right. in principle, they are not much different. I liked the 2nd one on the left the most. The sun beds are always free, there are no towels. The staff is friendly and helpful. Shower, toilet and even, I'm sorry, a "washbasin". It's not too sterile, but it's tolerable. You can get a massage right there on the cot -700r back, 600r legs, but you can negotiate for 1000r for everything. Not a very serious massage, but rather for entertainment and relaxation.
There are no flies or other animals, except for indifferent dogs. It is very comfortable-it is not hot, because there is a pleasant warm breeze.
The sea is very warm water, you can stay in the water for hours, but there are STRONG WAVES. The people mostly just wet their feet. The most stressful thing is to walk through the surf, go waist-deep, and then, if you can stay on the water, it's a wonderful pleasure to swing on the waves. Swimming there, like in a pool, doesn't really work out,
but you can just lie on the waves for a very long time and don't get bored. The first few days, when there were few Russians, I generally swam alone. Then "our people" arrived and the sea became a little lively.
In the evening, the sheki set up tables on the shore, put candles on, turn on the illumination and music (European, but very loud) In such an atmosphere, you can have dinner or just have a drink. It's all very pleasant. It will be more expensive than in the village, especially in my favorite Diamond.
I will describe one case that characterizes the locals.
On the very first evening, I went to change money and got lost, although it is very difficult for a normal person to get lost there, but I was able to. I asked 2-3 people about the hotel - they couldn't tell me, the next person I turned to for help started looking on the Internet and offered to take me on a bike, but he took me to the wrong place, and it happened several times. We searched for my hotel for 40 minutes, riding his bike and FOUND IT!!!! And this young man refused to take the money. My gratitude to him is boundless! I was so "prostrated" that I didn't ask his name to pray for him, which I really regret.
There were many more small adventures involving local residents, which are now fun and pleasant to remember.
I'd love to go there again and again..
We went with my husband in January 2024. The hotel is well located, literally five minutes to the sea, on the other side to the main road also, literally five minutes. About the hotel. There is no refrigerator, TV, kettle in the room. The sockets are breathing like incense. A refrigerator and a TV for a fee (we did not buy it), but this is the first time I've seen this. The room is poorly cleaned, dust, cobwebs, gray bed linen, stained. Safe deposit box at the reception for a fee. Breakfast is coffee or tea, two toasts, butter and jam. You can buy an omelet or scrambled eggs for a fee. We ate in sheki, in a cafe. I really liked the Himalaya cafe, on the main road to the right.
My favorite hotel in Candolim, we have already been to it 3 times and we will go again. Quiet, cozy, clean, pleasant area, not far from the beach. The staff is friendly, ordered breakfast, always very tasty and fast. Maybe it's a little far from the main movement, but for us it was not a minus
