We were in Almaty in September 2023. Almost every day we went to the Honey Shop for breakfast. This is a great place for both breakfast and to sit and relax with friends. First of all, a good location, a place in the center, convenient to get there. Secondly, there is a pleasant menu, delicious dishes, large enough portions and reasonable prices. Thirdly, the staff is friendly, the waiters always greet with a smile. The only inconvenience is paying only in cash.

A cozy place, delicious! We had breakfast with sandwiches (if I'm not mistaken, the cost is 3200 for one), as soon as we sat down at the table, water with mint was immediately served.

I've been to this place twice. Both times - I sat for 10 minutes waiting for the menu, then for another 15 minutes the order itself - tea and cake from the showcase. There are 4 tables occupied in the hall, about 6 waiters and everyone is either chatting with each other or with the staff at the counter. The tea was barely brewed, it was almost tasteless, although I waited a long time. The cake is delicious. To get the bill, I had to go interfere in the conversation. My rather loud and clear phrase "Young man, can I have the bill, please?" was ignored, the waiter continued to communicate with someone behind the counter. The prices are unreasonably high for such a service, I will not come again.

I confirm everything about the sluggishness of the waiters. Bring the menu, ask how long to come - the maximum that the algorithm of actions is enough for. Then you can sit for 15 minutes with an empty hall and no one will approach you. I had to attract attention in all possible ways.
The food is delicious but takes a very long time to make. It's strange to wait 20-25 minutes for tomyam with an empty hall.
Well, if you have eaten, drink coffee, no one will remove the plates. You're sitting in the dining room)))))
Well, and for small things - somewhere in the bowels of the bar, the dishes were broken three times ;
The final surprise was the cost of lemon added to coffee - coffee costs 900tg, and lemon - 300tg. Seriously?!!!!! 😱

But during rush hours (for example, on Saturday and Sunday mornings), it takes a very long time to wait for an order (according to the waiters, up to an hour and a half). Today, I and more than 15-20 people had a Mock breakfast there, the place was chosen by our curator for the course (there are no complaints about her, since she is not local), apparently she also fell for aesthetic, appetizing and beautiful pictures, like me....
From the first minutes there was already a staff meeting not warm.
I came first, the waitresses couldn't tell me the place, and I logically searched for a table (fortunately it was the only one for a large number of people).
We were seated in the center of the room, it felt like we were on stage, I'm sorry.
The hall is cold, uncomfortable and chilly. I had to wrap myself in my warm clothes. Muzzle from all the cracks. The toilet is very cramped, when you open the door of the stall, they hit you in the back with the door while you wash your hands at the washbasin.
When we almost all gathered and started the meeting, we realized that we just couldn't hear each other. Then we approached the waitresses and the administration and asked them to move our table or give us a place in another corner, to allocate a more secluded corner, since such meetings imply a more private place. There was a noise, a hum, and music was playing very loudly. We asked them to make it a little quieter so that we could feel more comfortable and hear each other better. And all requests were REFUSED!!!! Refusal to move us, refusal to make the music quieter, refusal to give an individual bill to each client upon request.
The waiters do not normally consult on the menu, the croissant you need goes 40-50 minutes to the order table (apparently from France itself).
My neighbor ordered a pistachio roll from the menu (hoping that it was pistachio), and they brought in general where one raspberry. There was a misunderstanding, so the administration, instead of going to a meeting and replacing, was forced to pay for both orders.
They are completely not customer-oriented, they do not make concessions, a lot of waiters...but it doesn't do any good...And the administrator does not look like an administrator at all, but more like a student.
No one ever came up to find out if we liked everything, we were like lost kittens, where the garbage from the table had to be almost put into a tray by the waiters.
If you take responsibility in your coffee shop to hold such kind of mass meetings, be kind enough to think everything through or not agree to such a thing!!!! Because they are not qualified enough for this!!!!!Almost at the end of the meeting, when we emotionally (charged after a poppy breakfast), arranged a photo shoot for memory, the administrator came up to us impressively and with a dissatisfied look on her face and made a remark like schoolgirls (and I'm sorry there were people of different status and age) that it turns out we are too noisy and all the people in the hall complain at us. It was not very negative and unpleasant, as if we had come and were eating at her house for free. The mood was spoiled, there was a residue, I could hardly restrain myself from saying everything to this lady in person.
I wanted to visit this place with my family....but after that, I DON'T ADVISE ANYONE!!!!!
Also in the kitchen, everything is aesthetically pleasing and beautiful....but it's not worth the money. Their novelty is a croissant with supposedly pistachio cream...It doesn't even smell like pistachios...and it doesn't taste at all clear what...I do not advise you to spend money on it, you will be disappointed.
I'll add another P.s: Google and 2gis do not find this branch, some kind of mystical branch, it seems to exist, but it does not seem to exist. I barely found the address through Instagram.
I had to leave 10% to the account, but none of them deserved it!!! The most terrible impression!
It's not worth one star, just for the beautiful pictures.

This is not the first time, if you did not manage to catch the waiter soryan, either sit until you are ACCIDENTALLY noticed, or you can safely go to another institution.
