The Shezzade Mosque is one of the sights of Istanbul, which is definitely worth a visit. A wonderful example of Ottoman architecture, stunning energy and beauty. The complex houses the famous tomb of Shehzade Mehmet, the beloved son of Sultan Suleiman Kanuni, with a throne above the tomb. By establishing this throne, the sultan showed his love and affection for his son. Shehzade Jahangir is buried next to Shehzade Mehmet.
Like all the famous mosques in Istanbul, it is majestic and has an interesting interior. There is a nice park around her, cute cats, there are a lot of them, and take something with you to treat them. There is a free clean toilet, as with all mosques, by the way, and it is very convenient.
December 2024.
There are no tourists, only cats.
The most beautiful mosque.
The center of the old city is marked by Mimar Sinan right here. (column in the photo)
Members of the sultan's family and his subjects are buried in the old cemetery.
Also, the turban of Suleiman the Magnificent's sons: Princes Mehmet (and his only daughter) and Jihangir.
All the sights of the Fatih area are within walking distance of each other, which makes the walk unforgettable and full of impressions. I want to crawl under every stone, look through every door. I was especially tempted to look into the tombs that were closed for restoration.
I recommend that you Google its history, at least briefly, before visiting a particular attraction. You already know exactly what you want to see and what to pay attention to.
Recommended to visit, especially for BB lovers
