It's an amazing place! A must-visit. The frescoes and mosaics left over from the time when the current Kariye Mosque was a church in the monastery of Hora are fascinating. Especially the mosaics, which look like they were made just a couple of years ago.

A very important monument of Byzantine art! The frescoes and mosaics are wonderful, well preserved. Cheaper than Sofia and a more complete view of mosaic art! I recommend you to visit the monastery of Khora!
