The Kalyan Mosque is one of the oldest in Central Asia. The majestic portal is decorated with mosaics. It is part of the Poi Kalyan architectural ensemble, the heart of Bukhara. A favorite place of residents and tourists. It was built in 1514. It is beautiful during the day and especially in the evening with lighting. For tourists, Bukhara is beautiful because all the sights are within walking distance. We lived three minutes from Labi House Square, in the old town, and we could walk around all the sights.
A very strong impression of the mosque and minaret, especially at night, thanks to the magical lighting.
Every detail of the delicate pattern is visible. I want to examine and enjoy. Excellent restoration work with respect for the historical heritage of Uzbekistan 💚
A real work of architectural art, there are simply no words. They say the mosque is still being used for its intended purpose. Nearby, Minori kalon translates from Tajik as a large minaret. It's actually a huge 47 meters high. The minaret was built in 1127, i.e. it is 898 years old. That's the story. The Mir Arab Madrasah is located opposite. Prominent religious scholars of Central Asia studied in this particular madrasah. It takes your breath away when you visit. At least I felt it myself.
