The city of Trabzon, I want to tell you, is absolutely not small! There is a place to walk (but it's better for girls to cover their shoulders and knees, everything is more religious here than in Istanbul)!
But the Hagia Sophia Mosque (the famous Istanbul mosque of the same name) impressed me very much. It's not big, but it has a very pleasant energy, I didn't want to leave at all. Under the arches, the faces of Saints have been preserved, something similar to space and even a rocket, it's all amazing and fascinating. Previously, it was a Christian temple, which can be traced back to ancient times with its images.
The place is historical, it is always interesting to look at what was built almost 1000 years ago. Sea view, the city is great. The fact that it was first a Christian church, and now a mosque, you just have to accept. Who knows what the future holds? Maybe everything will change.
The temple dates back to 1461, and even the frescoes have been preserved on the ceiling. The architecture is authentic Byzantine. It is a pity that it is now a functioning mosque. You can visit outside the time of worship, for free. Beautiful sea views.
A former Orthodox church, now a mosque. We got from the port by taxi for 200 lire in 7 minutes. Hagia Sophia stands on a mountain. Beautiful sea view. Bas-reliefs and frescoes have been preserved. Bright colors, many faces are embossed. There is a cafe with Wi-Fi nearby.
This Hagia Sophia has undergone much less Moorish influence compared to another, much more famous Hagia Sophia. Charming modesty and routine of the visit - no surrounding pomp, no conspicuous alterations of the building. An active mosque, on the walls of which there are preserved ancient Christian paintings and a fragment of the floor of the ancient temple is open for review. And it stands in a beautiful place
It's a very interesting place. On the hill, a beautiful view of the sea. There is a parking lot. Formerly an Orthodox, Byzantine church. It's a mosque now. The place is worth a visit.
The most important historical landmark of Trabzon, an interesting place: a Christian temple turned into a mosque by the Ottomans. There is quite a decent cafe with Turkish cuisine nearby
The most interesting and oldest place in Trebizond, at least from those that I looked at.
An old Christian basilica, transformed into a mosque with minimal changes
Now it accepts believers as a mosque, frescoes of Orthodoxy have been preserved on the walls., the faces of angels. Muslims are friendly.

It's very beautiful and authentic. There is a great Turkish restaurant nearby.
It is not entirely clear why a Christian church should be converted into a mosque. If you don't want an active Christian church, you can make a museum about the Byzantine temple. It doesn't seem humane to the Christian faith.
