I love this park next to my house, where I have been visiting periodically for several years. This is a convenient and beloved place by many residents of Williamsburg under the shade of mighty old trees at the intersection of several streets. Wherever the residents of the area go, they often choose the road through McCarren Park. If you are tired, you can always sit on a bench, look at the fussy squirrels, think about the time compressed in the mighty trunks of giant trees... But I usually recharge here with the energy of the tireless runners who continuously rush through the alleys and green fields of this island of health. Young and venerable New Yorkers are obsessed with taking care of keeping their bodies slim and in good shape: they wind up kilometers at any time of the day, regardless of the weather. And almost every regular of the park comes here with his four-legged pets. Almost every family has them. There is a place in McCarren Park for them to run around, to grind their business with the neighborhood dogs. No one raises the public to fight against the dominance of dogs - the owners follow the rules of walking, and their mismatched friends do not let them down.
The park is also famous for its farmers' fairs on weekends. There are so many lush greens on the tables under the canopies, tomatoes of all calibers and colors, potatoes so perfect that you don't have to peel them before cooking... In general, these green fragrant rows are a special song of the park in the midst of a noisy and densely populated city.
Families come here to relax on Saturdays and Sundays, with companies of friends: they lay a rag on the grass - and who is having fun, and who is sleeping soundly in the open air amid the noise of the city. The main thing is to leave the house, fall into the grass or do push-ups, and do not have to go far, carry boxes with seedlings, plow in the beds. And you can bet that it is more useful and enjoyable in urban life...
