My impressions are mixed. The once majestic sanatorium is now an atmospheric abandonment. The incoming youth adds only garbage around and ridiculous inscriptions on the walls about their very important presence here. One of the most popular and accessible places for tourists in Gagra. There's a cute granny watchman at the entrance. The entrance is for a symbolic 50 rubles. One of the buildings turned out to be closed, they did not crawl in through the window.Everyone else looked.
If you like to conduct excursions on your own and visit not quite tourist routes, then I advise you to visit this abandoned sanatorium. We were impressed and at the same time climbing these abandoned buildings is such a small variety among the usual excursions that are available in Abkhazia. We passed for free, we didn't meet the old lady.
A good place for quiet walks through the places of former greatness of the Soviet Union. Nature quickly brings everything back. An interesting place. Fenced off. There seems to be security, but we haven't seen it.
I advise you!!! So many beautiful photos were taken. At the same time, it is beautiful in the Lighthouse and scary - from abandonment and wildness. We climbed only two buildings in an hour. The club and the one with the dining room and the view.
At the entrance, they took 100 rubles for 4 people. The old lady said that the children are free)
A stunningly atmospheric place, we spent a lot of time in it. One library with stunning views and balconies on the third floor are worth a lot. Such a sudden Peter in the jungles of Abkhazia. The entrance was 50 rubles per person, they did not allow us to visit the medical building, the grandmother swore very much that we had been wandering around the territory for too long.
Spoiler: white columns overgrown with vines.
there are two dogs living on the territory, grab them some sweets, the dogs bark, but not aggressive. after the meal, they walked with us around the territory
A lot has already been written and told in the comments about this place. Definitely it is necessary to climb there and not with an excursion, but by ourselves. Guides do not show many interesting and even a little dangerous places, but they are clearly worth it. I will attach a photo of one such place for clarity)
Udevitelni is a magical place.
I'm shocked - there's even a piano. Nature has managed to fit into the era of the empire of the Soviet Union so much that it has turned out to be a new direction - SOVELLO!!!

There is a sense of freedom and greatness in the walls, which were affected by the time of change.
Now it seems that nature takes the buildings for itself..
There is a granny at the entrance.
It seems that her hands are still intact this atmospheric place in this form.
We visited in 2023, the entrance fee is 50 rubles per person, a woman of respectable age at the entrance, used to work with this sanatorium, the head of the two upper buildings, there are 5 of them in total. The top one is completely overgrown, even you need to look for a road, a place with an interesting history, does not work after the 1992 war. There are two guards at the entrance, if you go, at least take bread for them.
It was once a wonderful place to relax. It is now abandoned. But it is very atmospheric. You can watch my video about this place on my YouTube channel Go back to the past.
We were in 2023 at 5 pm, the grandmother was no longer in place. The lower building is a mud clinic, followed on the right by a club, there is a grand piano and a 2nd tier for a projectionist. In the middle is the main building with offices and rooms, from above there are two more buildings in the "jungle", one has a hole on stools through the window, the second is open.
It's also very atmospheric. In October 2023, no one is on duty in the afternoon.
I walked around for 30 minutes. It's a pity that such a ruin. It's not very long to climb, take a walk
A very atmospheric place, stunning Soviet architecture merges with the incredible nature of Abkhazia and takes you to some other world. A place to shoot beautiful movies
An amazing place, among the walls of cypresses and thickets of ivy, the Stalinist Empire rests, covered with vines. It resembles the scenery for a post-apocalyptic movie.
An atmospheric place, I advise you to walk through all the buildings, especially to reach the upper building, on the third floor there is an amazing view at sunset.
Where nature takes its toll. Everything eats greens. Sleepy Hollow could be filmed here.

Abandonment. They don't take money out of season. Great view from the roof.

Incredible beauty! The former greatness is felt. Along the way, we met a nice resident, whose family moved to these places from Ukraine in the 30s of the last century. She told many interesting facts and stories, both about the sanatorium itself and about her life in general.
