I was born and lived in Shemonaiha for 10 years, all my school years. We lived on the main street of the Sovetskaya city. Now it is named after the writer, our countryman, Anatoly Ivanov Street. And it's cool.

Maryin utes is a business card of the Shemonaikhinsky district. The novel written by Anatoly Ivanov describes the history of this particular cliff, of course the place has acquired a modern look, and the monument dedicated to Maria Voronova, the heroine of the novel, has been updated and will delight guests and residents of the district. The Shemonaikhinsky cliff is unique, although about 40 more cliffs are similar to it. For us, fellow countrymen of Anatoly Ivanov, it is a pride to live on the land where the famous writer was born.

Ivanov, the author of "Shadows disappear at noon", "The Eternal Call," the city of Shemonaiha in the East Kazakhstan region, where this monument to Maria Voronova is installed. Many readers are mistaken, considering Mary's Cliff to be all sorts of places in the Urals and in the Perm Region. The true Cliff is in the writer's homeland, towering over the river Slaughter (Svetlikha, Gromotukha), Shantara- Shemonaiha. Anatoly Ivanov in his novels described the nature native to childhood and the fate of fellow countrymen.
