A very beautiful column, I liked it. The column in the early Baroque style was built in 1650 by decree of Emperor Ferdinand III. The Habsburgs built it on the model of the column in Munich (1638) and Vienna (1647), as a sign of gratitude to the Virgin Mary for protecting Prague from the invasion of Swedish troops in 1648.
