If you want to get new experiences and don't adore fine art, this place is not for you. But if you want to show your guests what kind of cultural country the UAE is, or what kind of cultural you are, go ahead.
The Louvre Abu Dhabi is a place that impresses with its architecture and atmosphere. The building itself is a true masterpiece of modern art. The huge dome, which lets in the sun's rays, creates an amazing play of light and shadows, which adds a special magic to this space.
The museum's collection impresses with its diversity. Here you can see works of art from different eras and cultures — from ancient artifacts to modern masterpieces. I especially liked the way the exhibits are presented: the emphasis is on universal human values and cultural ties between peoples.
This place is ideal for those who want to plunge into the world of art and history, as well as enjoy the unique architecture. I recommend setting aside a few hours to slowly walk around all the halls and enjoy the atmosphere. The Louvre Abu Dhabi is truly a jewel in the cultural life of the UAE!"
The collection is large and beautiful, the museum is new, very beautiful inside and out. During our trip, there was a temporary exhibition of Impressionists from the Musee d'Orsay, including van Gogh, we were so lucky, it was wonderful. The location is good, there is a direct bus that goes through the whole city, but if you live in the center, there are only a couple of stops. The architecture is wonderful, it's set up on the water, so the photos will turn out great. The Guggenheim Museum is being built nearby, but it won't open until 2026, so when I get there, I'll definitely visit the Louvre again.
The Louvre Abu Dhabi impresses with a harmonious combination of modern architecture and a rich collection: the delicate dome of Jean Nouvel creates a magical play of light, and the exhibition combines masterpieces from antiquity to modernity, emphasizing the commonality of cultures. Life—size statues can be seen here, from the ancient Greek sphinx and the Sumerian statue of Gudea to the Indian bronze Nataraja of the 10th century. The exhibits cover the civilizations of Greece, Egypt (the mummy of Princess Henuttawi), Mesopotamia (a double-headed bust from Jordan 6000 BC), India (Buddhist manuscripts of the 12th century) and even rare Bactrian artifacts. Contemporary art is represented by the works of Mondrian, Holzer and Ai Weiwei, creating a dialogue of epochs under the "light rain" of the dome.
The place is impressive in its beauty and architecture. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail, as convenient as possible for visitors. Moving around the museum is intuitive, it is impossible to get lost. There is a lot of exposition, I think everyone will find a lot of interesting things for themselves. You can walk by yourself, without an excursion or a guide, or you can rent headphones with an interpreter and listen to the guide. Oh, and don't forget to install the Louvre app on your phone.
A very beautiful place, stunning architecture by Jean Nouvel. It's especially great to arrive at sunset. It is better to set aside at least an hour for a visit.
There is a cushion area inside where you can sit, order a drink and enjoy the sunset.
Exhibitions are held periodically. The latest exhibition with works from the Orsay Museum is wonderful.
All in all, the place is a delight! I highly recommend it.
The beautiful architecture of the museum building. Exhibitions are changing. The expositions that I read about in the reviews before visiting have already returned to Paris. For a not-so-advanced connoisseur like me, this is a great opportunity to see the works of Manet, Monet, Gauguin, Renoir, Degas, Picasso and a couple of dudes I don't know in a short time. I also saw our Kandinsky and Chagall. In addition to painting, there were sculptures by Rodin and some other, apparently, famous guys, an exhibition of African art (which I was not good at). Some more ancient jewelry. I remember the Scythian bracelet with lions. In my opinion, it would be nice to add a local flavor - paintings and sculptures of some citizens armed with curved sabers on camels, painted and molded by famous craftsmen. However, they'll figure it out without me. In any case, if the opportunity presents itself, I would love to visit more, especially since the expositions change periodically.
Abu Dhabi Art Museum. It is located on the island of one of the bays of the city.
It was built relatively recently. According to the guide, for the right to bear the same name in the Louvre from Paris (plus an exhibition of individual works) The UAE has paid about 1 billion euros. The architecture of the building and its location right in the middle of the sea are quite original. There are plenty of free parking spaces nearby.
The exhibition is a rather disparate set of works. The number of works is not large, but there are some works by famous masters: Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Manet, Monet, Picasso, Kandinsky. In terms of content and quantity, this is certainly not the Pushkin or Tretyakov Gallery. The museum lacks the "dedication" of famous grandees. But the entire exposition can be viewed in one visit: 1-2 hours.
P.S. An elite residential complex is being built next to the museum with the financing of R. Abramovich (see the last photo)
The Louvre Abu Dhabi is a unique museum combining art, architecture and culture. The building impresses with its futuristic design with a majestic dome creating the effect of a "rain of light". The museum's collection includes masterpieces of world art — from ancient artifacts to modern works. The expositions are designed to show the evolution of humanity through art, which makes the visit a deep cultural experience.
An interesting fact: for the use of the Louvre brand and for the support from France, the UAE government paid more than 1 billion euros, including royalties, the cost of renting works of art and organizing temporary exhibitions. This makes the Louvre Abu Dhabi one of the most ambitious cultural projects in the world.
I love modern museum complexes, especially in rich Arab countries! Lots of space. The claim to be original and at the same time a small number of exhibits (relative to museums with a long history). Many exhibits are rented. In general, I advise you to visit!
The knowledge itself is already a unique monument of modern architecture!
A unique collection of world art masterpieces. The exhibits are selected by period in chronological order, with a juxtaposition and comparison of different cultures and approaches to art. The collection is small compared to the Hermitage, but it's worth spending a whole day or two there. I recommend downloading a free application that has an audio guide in Russian to the most interesting exhibits. There is a restaurant and a cafe on the territory of the museum (the only place where you can smoke). In addition to the main exhibition, very interesting exhibitions are regularly held. Until 02/9/2025 - an amazing exhibition of impressionists and post-impressionists, with works by Cezanne, Gauguin, etc.
A good, interesting, modern museum! I also visited the real Louvre in Paris, I liked the Louvre more in Abu Dhabi. In addition to paintings, sculptures and other beauty, you can admire the roof of this museum and relax on the steps near the water of the bay, I was lucky enough to see a large yacht sailing right next to the museum, almost a ship. The museum is completely surrounded by water, built on an artificial island. I definitely recommend you to visit.
Another wonder of the world, built in our time. A compact but beautifully curated exhibition. Perfect lighting. Architecture on the verge of fiction. It's an unreal feeling. You can spend the whole day there! There is a separate children's museum and temporary exhibitions, the exhibitions are constantly changing. All amenities - toilets, food, places to relax are available.
The only negative is that it is VERY cold in the museum, the temperature is kept at 18 degrees with the weather at +40. It's hard to endure this in a light dress, dress warmly. And children in a long-sleeve sweatshirt.
A cool museum with a good collection of exhibits. There are exhibits from different eras from antiquity to modern art, as well as from different cultures (from ancient Greek columns to Asian Buddhas), it is interesting to see for yourself and for children to show. There is a separate interactive children's museum on the theme of space for children inside, I also liked it.
A great place for art lovers and those who want to explore world history through the lens of East and West. A must-visit in Abu Dhabi! 🌟
It is a synthesis of art, architecture and cultural dialogue. The museum impresses not only with its unique collection (from ancient artifacts to modern masterpieces), but also with the building itself — the "floating" dome creates a play of light and shadow, adding magic. Open spaces on the water add uniqueness and a special atmosphere.
We visited this museum in 2018. This is a truly unique building. From the point of view of architecture and other design solutions! Not all expositions were pleasantly impressed - this is my personal, philistine opinion. I was most impressed by the museum building itself! The designers are brilliant! The roof was especially impressive - when you look at the sky through this roof inside the building, you look at the clouds through the lace
The museum is very unusual...just Wow!!!
Gorgeous inside and out.
Impressive collection and sea views.
There are many recreation areas and cafes.
It's a decent gift shop.
Entrance fee = 65 dirhams.
You can pay by card or cash.
I recommend it to everyone.
I'll definitely be back.
For lovers and those who understand art, this is an amazing place.
Of course, we are not art lovers, but we visited this institution out of curiosity.
The road was from the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, by taxi (50 dirhams), and we also took a taxi back. There are buses, but we couldn't catch them.
Entrance to the Louvre costs $18 or 65 dirhams
In terms of time, 2/3 hours is enough to go around everything. You can buy various souvenirs (the prices are certainly not cheap). The most interesting thing is that it is on the water. Very beautiful design, interesting style. It's probably even more beautiful there in the afternoon, we got in after lunch, went out, it's already dark.
This is not just a museum, but a real work of art in the open air. The building itself is impressive: the huge dome, consisting of 7850 star elements, creates a stunning light effect when the sun's rays penetrate through it.
What you must visit:
- Halls with ancient Egyptian artifacts
- Collection of Islamic art
- Temporary exhibitions (international projects are especially impressive)
- Modern art in the latest halls
Visiting Tips:
- The best time to visit is at the end of the day (after 5 p.m. to capture the sunset and evening illumination)
- Avoid weekends and holidays
- Plan at least 3-4 hours to view the main expositions with an audio guide
How to get an audio guide:
- Download the Louvre Abu Dhabi app in Russian
Practical recommendations:
- Take water with you - there are places to relax in the museum
- Use the museum's map in the app to plan your route.
- Do not forget about comfortable shoes - you will have to walk a lot.
- The museum is closed on Mondays
The Louvre Abu Dhabi is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in art and architecture. Make sure to include it in your Abu Dhabi itinerary!
Amazing...! The impressions are overwhelming. The exhibition is in 12 halls. The beginning of the exhibition: antiquities - the development of culture in Mesopotamia and Egypt. Then the sculpture of ancient Greece and Rome, their comparison. Comparative sculpture of Asia and the East. And finally, painting. The exhibition halls use an audio guide with a narration of certain works, all in different languages that you desire.
In addition, at the time of our inspection, an exhibition of African peoples was on display.
The exhibition complex itself is decorated in an inimitable, suggestive style...
An impressive project in the UAE. A conceptual building, itself as an art object. A universal museum with artifacts and art. The exposition is sparse but well organized. We went for two days in a row, just a nice place with an atmosphere. Emirates is not about history and art at all, but rather about technology. These are here. I definitely recommend it
Large enough spacious halls, not stuffy, good navigation. There is an application with an audio guide in Russian. On the one hand, there are works from the storerooms of the French Louvre, and yes, perhaps it is interesting to look at the sublines, which can hardly be seen anywhere else. On the other hand, the exhibits are mixed together. There may be completely unrelated paintings, sculptures, etc. nearby, which is very confusing. Maybe, of course, I don't understand something, but it is what it is.
It's a great place. If you are in the UAE, be sure to come to Abu Dhabi. Connoisseurs of antiquity and art will definitely like it here. The museum is divided into different halls and eras. The territory of the museum is huge. Unfortunately, we were already in the evening and there are boats that can be rented to sail
It's a very interesting place. Clear navigation. As soon as we arrived, a guy drove up in an electric car and drove around a small park for free. I made a stop at beautiful locations for photos. In the museum itself, the air conditioners work like crazy.
You can download the app and explore everything without a guide. However, there was a feeling of some confusion from the location of the exhibits. Overall, the place is worth a visit.
For some reason, I expected only modern art, but I was pleasantly surprised by the ancient exhibitions.
All the exhibits are conveniently located, you can get close to them and listen to an audio note about them in the application.
Very beautiful, interesting, impressive
The Louvre Abu Dhabi is a stunning museum with magnificent architecture and a unique collection that tells the story of civilizations. The halls are divided by periods, not by civilizations. Natural lighting and thoughtful exposition make the visit unforgettable.
The name is a marketing ploy. There is an application with an audio guide and a map.
A very good permanent exhibition, featuring works of art and household items from different centuries. There is a very interesting children's museum where children are introduced to space and they go through an entertaining quest.
To visit the Louvre, I recommend setting aside a whole day to enjoy the museum and take your time to other locations.
An interesting architectural solution, a wonderfully organized space, as for the building, the furnishings - everything is great. But the expositions themselves are not impressive in comparison with the museums of St. Petersburg and Moscow.
An unusual place, a popular tourist attraction. There are originals by Kandinsky, Rubens and others. I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the reviews of the exhibitions before visiting, because you don't immediately understand why everything is the way it is, and why different exhibits are adjacent to each other.
There is a podium-type place in the courtyard, but if you want really high-quality photos, it's better to take professional photography, there is such a service in the Louvre.
It's unbelievable! Divine! Gorgeous!
The building itself is beautiful, the roof is a special love! You can go to the "roof", from there you can enjoy a magnificent view of Abu Dhabi. All the paintings are arranged harmoniously. I don't even know how to visit other museums after the Louvre in Abu Dhabi.
I liked the museum.
The simple principle of arranging the exhibits is in historical sequence. A moderate set of exposures, you don't get tired. A good application that allows you to find out information about an object by pointing the camera at it.
It was interesting to learn that the museum, which is located on the waters of the bay, also has a rehabilitation center for sea turtles.
