The first shock from Luxor is the endless queue for registration, and at any time of the day or night, which, however, moves quite quickly, because a dozen receptionists are working at the reception at the same time. Smiling girls not only check in arrivals, but also, together with an electronic key card, give out a booklet with discount coupons for literally everything: from restaurants ($ 20 credit) and shows (up to 40% discount) to a children's play center (one game for free) and exhibitions (with a ticket price of $ 36, the discount will be $5). The second shock is the gigantism and grandeur of the place. This is not just a superbly stylized hotel, but a real city called Luxor in a never-sleeping city called Las Vegas – both in scale and infrastructure. Everything is designed so that the guests do not have the slightest desire (but not the chance and opportunity!) leave the pyramid, dedicating the entire time of your stay to Luxor and leaving here all the money you have saved for a trip to the realm of continuous casinos and entertainment. Spacious, well-furnished, relatively inexpensive rooms for the States (but without breakfast), except for additional city taxes and a resort fee of $ 25 per day, which entitles you to free calls from the room, newspapers and free wi-fi. Noisy air conditioning, the usual semi-darkness. Half a dozen towels each. There was a missing tea/coffee set and a refrigerator. Apparently, they saved on this little thing so that guests could eat exclusively in a variety of cafes and restaurants of the hotel around the clock, but not on a budget. For example, a bottle of water in the hotel store costs $ 4.5 at the usual price of $ 1-1.5 per liter in city markets. Casino, casino, casino... Everything sparkles, glitters, blinks invitingly. Everyone and everyone around is working to ensure that you definitely play. People are excitedly pressing the buttons of the vending machines around the clock, there are crowds around the tables at midnight or noon. Excellent Luxor buffet: at a price of $ 25 per dinner / dinner, you can enjoy seafood (crabs, crayfish, shrimp, mussels, squid), salads, meat and fish dishes, Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine, all kinds of desserts and ice cream, fruits and pastries. Drinks: coffee, ice tea, juices, cola, water. Alcohol for an additional fee on the principle of "pay $ 8 and drink as much as you can." Having stood in line at the restaurant (this gourmet paradise cannot be called a buffet in the traditional sense of the word), we enjoyed the meal in full.
Ideal for business trips to events at the nearby Mandalay bay convention center, walking along the corridors for 10-15 minutes. Everything inside is expensive, it is better to buy water once outside the hotel. The rooms are huge, clean, but old.
