A good hostel. It is located in a convenient location in the city of Almaty, next to the large green Gagarin Avenue, along which it is pleasant and convenient to get to both the metro and ground transport "above" or "below" the city.
There is a convenience store with vegetables, fruits, water, and fast food right in the building. No frills. Up the street, 1-2 minutes walk, there are 2 more shops and the famous Korean cuisine cafe Dosarang.
The hostel itself has a large, spacious, comfortable kitchen and tables, excellent Wi-Fi in the lobby.
There are private and shared rooms. There are even full bathrooms in the rooms. The furniture and mattresses are good. Bed linen and pillows are for an amateur, but not fatal. I don't like synthetics.
One of the disadvantages is the disgusting Internet in the room. There is no air conditioning, only a noisy fan, it's hard to sleep. Outside the window at midnight, a motorcycle is always screaming, not for long, but loudly.
It's a great place. Nice design inside. A tactful and polite hostess. There are rooms with a private bathroom, kettle, TV, refrigerator, dishes. It's quiet at night. Heat. Not far from the metro. Near transport, shops, currency exchange, cafes. I highly recommend it.
A clean and cozy hostel. The hostess is always in touch. A notification of arrival is made for foreigners.
There are rooms both shared and separate, where you can stay as a family.
The location is very good. In the same house there is a gym, a grocery and hardware store, a vegetable store. There are a couple more shops across the street. There are cafes and banks on the next street.
Probably, this is just my case and not really about the Loco hotel, but rather about the hostess and the apartment that was rented to us instead of the hotel. We had a glitch in the booking service and there was a prospect of staying in an uncomfortable room, the hostess kindly offered an apartment for the same price instead, for which I was very grateful, especially considering how tired the child and I were and I was seasick. Everything was acceptable, although not very comfortable, until on the second day I accidentally began to wipe the floors, which were just black. I described everything completely to the hostess and sent the video. This was followed by an apology and an offer of cleaning, but the desire to stay there had already disappeared, I wanted to move out. The search for housing during the holidays did not give anything and we had to stay there until the end of the weekend, then we found a hotel in the mountains and wanted to move out, but the plans completely changed, as my aunt died and we had to abruptly fly home. As a result, I expected that the hostess would treat our situation with human understanding and return the payment for 3 days, since we stopped in the evening and left in the evening, too, to which the hostess returned the payment for the day, referring that check-out at 12.00 and payment is not refunded at all. With a favor or pity, she sent the amount for another day when I asked, since the expenses were large in connection with the purchase of new urgent tickets and the delivery of non-refundable ones, but later I returned the money back, because all this is unpleasant, I wanted from the bottom of my heart understanding and support, and not to stand with my hand outstretched. I unsubscribed about non-compliance with the rules on our part and on hers, too, since she took the payment bypassing the booking and generally rented us a dirty apartment, but there was no reaction to this. I hope this is the only case of a business lady and all the other guests are as happy as possible in the walls of the Loco hotel, it is really beautiful and original there.
It's a great hostel, I've been there more than once. Warm, cozy, good location. The hostess Jeanne is generally well done. Attentive, polite. I recommend it)
An apartment for rent, not a hotel. The "room" has everything, a kitchen, a washing machine, everything you need. It seems to be clean, but overall it doesn't feel very good. It is expensive, although one of the cheapest options. The hostess welcomed me cordially.
Number 23 is super! It is large, with a bathroom, with a washing machine, with a kitchen. The windows are really barred, but these are small things. The side is shady.
