You must definitely stop at Legendale. Built in the style of a grand hotel, with a collection of antiques inside, a huge atrium, spacious rooms with high ceilings, well-trained staff.
Great location. Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Beihai, and the city train Station are easily accessible on foot. Wangfujing and Yabaolu (who likes what) are nearby. There are several upscale hotels and good restaurants nearby.
But... The breakfasts are exactly for four. Wi-Fi works conditionally. Gilding and stucco are falling off in places. These little things do not interfere with having fun.

It's a great hotel with a terrible restaurant. The rooms are marble with gold. The view from the windows is amazing. But a restaurant with boiled pasta, like in a school cafeteria, is a mess. Of course, you won't leave hungry, but the pathos is not justified. European alcohol at dinner. The main pedestrian street is 100 meters away.

The hotel itself is beautiful. Breakfast is a Swedish line.
