Every day my wife and I went to Turtle beach on a scooter (5 min) and served with huge turtles. An indescribable feeling.
The staff is excellent, they speak English well, a little Russian. The ocean is warm, the pool is clean.
The hotel is extremely tired, the breakfasts are poor, not very tasty. Rooms are cleaned only on request and you need to leave your key to be cleaned. The only advantage is the location, very close to the ocean. Otherwise, if you have a choice, choose something else.

We were in 2019, we arrived at this hotel after a sightseeing tour of the island. There was something to compare it with. Standard room for two. I immediately wanted to leave the hotel. Of the furniture, a half-cabinet in which nothing fits, a chair 1 for two. The door to the bathroom does not close, the floor is some kind of concrete, there were no bedside mats, and somehow it was uncomfortable in general. They tried to move to another hotel through the tour operator, but they said that the money would not be refunded for this hotel at all. They gave me a suite for an additional fee, the situation was better there. The hotel as a whole was completely killed, the room next to it did not close, the lock was pulled out barbarously, it was creepy to walk, it was comforting that there seemed to be cameras. I don't remember the food anymore, but when they tried to take the fruit with them, they pointed it out to us, despite the fact that while they were arguing with us, other foreigners calmly took it and went. The pool was really paid for by the locals, who swam there in their clothes, almost washed themselves.

The food was not very good, often raw vegetables. We didn't clean the room because there was only 1 key. We should have left the key to get out, but we didn't find out until the last day. The room is clean, but the hotels as a whole are not monitored.
We stayed at the hotel in April 2024. After reading the reviews, I was preparing for the worst, it turned out that not everything is so scary. The hotel is located on the ocean, the Windows faced the ocean, the view is beautiful. This is probably the only plus. The hotel is very "tired", but you can live. There were ants in the room, and once a huge cockroach got out in the shower. They clean poorly, and this cleaning needs to be achieved, as well as toilet paper, a change of towels. There's not much to eat for breakfast besides an omelet, there's also rice and spicy dishes. The hotel is tired. The rooms are different, at first they gave where water dripped from the ceiling in the toilet, the mattress stank unbearably of dampness and the air conditioner did not work, then they replaced it, it was better there, but the air conditioner still worked from half a kick. The hotel was obviously cool 10 years ago, but then maybe because of the coronavirus they launched it (the manager said they hadn't worked for three years), they tried to improve something with us, but still those who want 5* like in Europe won't see it here. Terrible hotel. Dirt is everywhere. The rooms are cleaned disgustingly.under the beds there is generally a layer of garbage with dust mixed in. The sink has not been washed more than once. Anex Tour and Lavanga Resort are a combo that can ruin your vacation for very little money...
Our flight arrived at Colombo Airport at 3:40 a.m. local time. At 8:30, I was already at the hotel. Check-in at 14:00. None of the administrators suggested that I leave my suitcases somewhere, change clothes, eat - absolute indifference, while they did not forget to put on smiles, but they did absolutely nothing. I had to beg for everything: leave my suitcase, change my clothes, at least go for a swim in the ocean, and not sit in the lobby for 4 hours. The eviction of the previous tenants took place at 12. I was checked in at 13:40 (we could have accelerated, knowing that I was at the hotel from 8:30 after an overnight flight). What I got in the end: dirt, dirt, dirt and more dirt. You won't believe it (I also couldn't believe my eyes at first), but the hair and dirt were even in the refrigerator! In 1.5 hours, the room could be polished to a shine, but this is not their forte. The stench in the bathroom, dirty towels (stains and worn places, even holes), which were mentioned earlier in the reviews, I confirm. Also in the room (bathroom and room) there are small ants in not small numbers, crawling on the walls, tables and floor. There is no living space on the bed linen either, everything is stained. It is clear that once the hotel was good, at least this is evidenced by the good furniture in the room and halls, but everything is so fucked up that it is disgusting to touch anything. A jamb was falling off at the bathroom door. Rust, smudges, corrosion on the ceiling, facades in rooms and common areas have become the corporate identity of the hotel! It seems to me that if you piss in their slippers and shit in their galoshes, they won't even notice. The hotel has been in need of major renovation and renovation for a long time, but the management stubbornly squeezes the last juices out of this building.

In addition, there is an awful lot of dirt in the pool after them, they naturally do not wash their feet in front of the pool and climb into it with sand.
A separate complaint to Anex Tour: why do you still exhibit photos when selling a tour that have not been true for at least 5 years? You knowingly mislead customers - you are simply engaged in deception. This is despite the fact that your price tag is 15 percent (as it turned out later) higher than other tour operators!
The pool and the area adjacent to it have nothing to do with reality at all, even if you take a lot of photos. What they write about dirty sunbeds, worn tiles, dirty towels again is true. The tiles are also very slippery - not for pools.
I highly strongly do not recommend this hotel, especially for such money. The most squalid and dirty hotel within a radius of 1km. He doesn't even pull 2*, let alone 4*. The area is full of hotels with adequate pricing and good service.
