We were in July 2022, in a cafe. Visually, the place is well done - the riverbank, canopies, paths, parking. But the kitchen spoils everything.
Fried potatoes are overcooked.
Khinkali is cold.
Pancakes in meat were specifically asked if they were purchased or homemade. They replied that they were at home. They brought the usual purchased pancakes, partially burned.
Chicken soup and chicken breast chop are delicious.
The prices of a good cafe, the quality of an average dining room. The bill includes 10% for the service.
If possible, go to a cafe near the main observation deck, there is at least something to choose from.
October 1, 2002. We have not eaten so expensive and not tasty yet! The worst hodgepodge that I had a chance to eat in Abkhazia, if you can even call it a hodgepodge. Two pieces of meat type in tomato soup. The pancakes are purchased fried in the cheapest smelly oil and partially overcooked, collapsed. And the prices are like in a decent restaurant. The dishes are dirty, the glasses are just rinsed.
The cafe at the rest house is about nothing. Expensive and not tasty. When buying khachapura, he specified the size - 30 cm. As a result, a 20-centimeter one was served. They put very (!) little filling in khachapur, but such a loaf costs 600 rubles. I do not recommend it, avoid it. There are cafes that are more customer-oriented.
For comparison, in the photo: khachapur from this cafe on top (20cm), khachupur from a roadside bakery on the bottom (30cm for 400 rubles, with fresh and delicious filling).
The cafe is terrible. For 500 rubles in an Abkhazian set, an insignificant portion, when asked why so little, the waitress began to be rude and push around, although she promised 100 grams of meat when ordering. The manager was called, she brought out an additional three nano pieces of meat (to three portions of Abkhazian sets!), like as a compliment. A portion of meat in Abkhazian is not on a plate, but almost on a tea saucer. As a result, they left, let them eat themselves).
Cafe, across the street from the beach. They served us for a very long time, although there was only one family besides us. The kebab is very salty, as is the trout. Grilled trout, by the way, is served with ketchup! Only the compote was delicious). The soup is edible. From cutlery-spoons and forks, without knives. They left hungry.I do not recommend it.
It was a bit dirty on the lake shore from the cafes when we arrived, and there was a sheep's head lying on the path, probably an unsuspecting lamb an hour ago. Of course, the children were scared...The boat rolling tourists on the lake had an unpleasant roll on its side.In general, it's a little dirty: "lack of cleanliness", sometimes unkempt. We love Abkhazia for its fabulous nature, mountain air, beauty, compactness. We wish the people of Abkhazia peace, kindness, and the development of a good tourism business.
