The XIII—XVII century fortress stands in the center of the village of Verkhnyaya Dzagina/ Zemo-Dzagina. It has been altered many times. According to the ruins, 4 chronological layers can be distinguished. Initially, a tower adjoined the fortress. They were surrounded by an oval fence. The fence was about 2 m thick. A second chronological layer is attached to this fence in places. The tower has not reached us in its original form
