The walls offer picturesque views of the resort and the bay, but as a historical object or museum, the fortress is of little interest.
The price of the entrance ticket seemed too high
Beautiful views, an interesting museum. I really like the adjacent streets nearby - if you come in the morning, you can take great pictures while there are no people
We visited 09.07.2023. We read the history of the fortress in advance, so it was not boring. Inside there are several nooks with various historical things, you can not take pictures only with a flash, as in any museum. From above there is a great view of the city and the bay, and around the fortress there is an old town, pleasant narrow streets. The entrance fee is 100 liras for 1 adult, a child of 5 years old was given a free ticket.
The work schedule may change depending on the season, so it's better to look at the official website. We were in August - the price is 130 lire. It's worth a trip - there is a beautiful view of the bay. The child was interested to see the objects exhibited in the museum.
I love antiquities. And in my travels I try not to miss interesting places (from my point of view) So I visited the fortress in Marmaris. This fortress was built on the remains of an older one by order of Suleiman the Magnificent in 1522 - since then it has been attracting the attention of tourists and historians. The entrance to it is not expensive and it is quite possible to afford to spend a couple of hours in and around the citadel. It is beautiful here, everything is well maintained and there is a wonderful view of the Marina from the walls of the fortress. There is a small archaeological museum. I recommend it to fans.
An interesting place. We went around the entire fortress and looked into all the museums on the territory, it was very informative. A ticket to the fortress costs 130 lire.
The castle is relatively simple, heavily restored, looks like a new model.
Inside the mini museum: various jugs, coins. Not impressed.
Price 160 liras / from 30 min
The fortress is not big, but there is something to see! In the evening, the fortress offers a beautiful view of the sea and Marmaris.
I advise you to visit
The price of the entrance ticket for July 1, 2023 leaves 100 liras. This, taking into account the recent fall of the lira, is 330 rubles per person.
The fort is old and beautiful. If you climb to the highest point, it offers a pleasant view of the city and the sea.
There are also several small museums on the territory of the fort (for some reason you can't take pictures inside them).
We walked around the bazaar, went towards the beautiful streets, and eventually came to the fortress itself. The entrance ticket to the territory of the fortress costs about 100 lira, which is 340 rubles, with Russian money. We didn't go to museums. The observation decks offer wonderful views of the city and the port.
The place where history is felt! You can spend half a day there, time passes unnoticed. And from the fortress there are beautiful views of the city and the sea!
A wonderful museum for tourists. There is an opportunity to take wonderful selfies and photos. But of course there is not enough history. Entrance is paid.
The fortress is small, but the view is beautiful.
The current price as of 08/31/2023 is 130 liras.
Opening hours 9:00-20:30
They let you in until 20:00
It's worth a visit. The fortress is small, but there is something to see.
It is better to go in the evening, because the sun is very hot during the day
The price in May 2023. 100 liras is 400-450 rubles per person, children too. There's not much to see, you can take beautiful photos. And it is very beautiful in the streets near the fortress.
