A great impression. Many ancient peoples lived here. Armenian temples began to be restored by Russian architects at the end of the 19th century, then the museum was looted under Ataturk, the temples continued to collapse, and restoration is underway again.

The place where you can see the Ancient City of Ani from the top. The farthest point to go on foot. In a state of complete ruin. There are very few solid walls left. But watching the city from there is priceless. There is a goat path to climb. you can get to the castle by that road. Its name is mentioned as the Inner Castle of Ani. I hope it goes through a proper restoration.

The place is mystical, as if it was transported back thousands of years in a time machine.. Fascinating views.. We were there when the sun was going down.. Very beautiful..

Leaving cultural and historical value far away, there are questions about the organization of the visit. Admission for non-Turks is €8, there are no exchangers. No one knows English. They accept only lira, although the price is not euros. The cashier gestured that it could be exchanged in a cafe, as a result, the rate in the cafe did not converge with the cashier's rate by 20 percent.

Unfortunately, almost everything has been destroyed, and the frescoes have practically not been preserved. Of course, there are impressive views around, but architecturally everything is very neglected or redone. To get from the airport, either by taxi or from Kars, buses run once a day.

Awful. The main temple was blocked with fences so that people would not see the beauty of the temples!! restoration? Unlikely. They just do everything to do nothing.

It is an ancient Armenian city. The Turks ruined it and turned churches into mosques. But the Armenian past cannot be erased.
