You can climb the fortress by cable car, it works until 23.00. However, it is expensive. After the cable car, there are still multiple ascents with ladders, it will be difficult for the elderly. Then there are colorful fortress walls, a mosque, an old bazaar, impressive views of Alanya, cafes - very cool, especially at sunset. We definitely recommend you to visit. After walking along the fortress walls, you can reach Ichkale, but we could not, because the stairs with ladders lead to Ichkale again, it is very difficult. We recommend visiting Ichkale separately, driving up there along the serpentine by car or taxi.
It's a great place to visit.
We were in a car, and there were a lot of "pockets" along the way for parking and a leisurely walk. The views from here are amazing.
On the way to the viewing there is a cool blossom cafe with delicious food: pastas, salads, seafood, desserts.
They also make a good hookah here.
Slowly enjoying the moment from a bird's-eye view.
The Alanya Fortress, founded in 1226, is a truly impressive place steeped in history and the atmosphere of antiquity. Amazing views of the sea and the city, the ancient walls and towers of the fortress create a unique picture that leaves an impression for a long time! A walk through the narrow streets and ancient corners of the fortress immerses you in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages and allows you to feel the greatness of the past. There is an ancient mosque on the territory of the fortress, which is still open to the public today.
Alanya Fortress is a must-visit place for all fans of history and beauty!🤩👍
It's a beautiful place! History, natural beauty, numerous hiking trails. You can walk here endlessly! The terrain is a great place to train! There are many cafes and restaurants with incredible views!
The symbol of the city of Alanya, many interesting locations inside and near the fortress, not everyone can climb to the top of the fortress on foot, a telephone and a taxi to help, in the heat you can hide inside the fortress in the shade of a coniferous forest, many viewing platforms, must-visit.
Be sure to visit this landmark in Alanya.
🏞️It is as if you will be transported back in time and plunge into the atmosphere of those times. This place will not leave you indifferent!⛵📸
I was here at the end of September 2024. Even though it was already autumn, it was very hot outside the fortress. Therefore, if you plan to visit this place in the summer, be careful.
The castle is listed in maps and guidebooks as a historical landmark, a kind of museum complex. In fact, it is nothing more than a complex of photo zones, seasoned with souvenir shops, mini-cafes, ice cream stalls. You can take a lot of good photos with views of the sea, the port, the city from a height; but we did not find any museum and sightseeing events there. The fortress walls have been preserved in fragments, as well as some infrastructure facilities.
Try not to arrive there at noon - you can not escape from the heat anywhere in the castle.
There are bus stops on the territory; perhaps there is even some kind of regular route :)
A wonderful place, immersing in the atmosphere of a medieval historical center. The stone buildings and the panoramic view make an indelible impression. The whole city is visible in the palm of your hand.
A medieval fortress, very well preserved in places. I will not retell the audio guide, I recommend listening to the story yourself. I would like to note that the place is quite quiet, there are few tourists, stunning cedars, and a great view of the sea.
A very beautiful fortress, the views of the surrounding area are excellent. But it is better to go to the top by car / taxi, since it is difficult to climb on your own, to put it mildly. And the funicular does not save you completely, since you still have to walk from it to the highest point.
Since I am a lover of everything ancient, I really liked it. The fortress is well restored, dating back to the times of the Roman Empire. The views from here are just a bomb. April 24th entrance cost 12 euros, there are plenty of places where you can walk for free up to the fortress. We got here on foot from the lower station of the cable car along the road, then the paths uphill, we decided not to spend money on the canal in 5 minutes. The ascent is not difficult, half an hour maximum, the main thing is to take water with you. There are plenty of paths, if you decide to walk, you can go safely. You can also take a taxi and a cable car.
Very beautiful view from all sides. You can go upstairs on foot, even without special sports training. For tourists, the place is as refined as possible-steps, floor, observation decks, signs
It is really built on the ruins of antiquity, however, it is partially worth the rebirth... On the territory, in addition to buildings from. There is a deep underground cistern on the island of sticks with awesome acoustics and free entrance (someone wrote below that it is not the only one). Otherwise, there is a lot of reconstruction of disgusting quality. If you have a binocole, I advise you to take it with you. A walk from the funicular takes a lot of time and effort (a lot of descents and ascents), I advise you not to skimp on a return ticket on the funicular: 3 minutes sitting and you will find yourself in the center
The fortress was visited in 2021 in September, when we rested in Konakli.
We took a short tour.
It takes an hour and a half to drive from Konakles. Maybe less, in a jeep)
The attraction is beautiful!
We rode the cable car to the top in booths. There were, of course, ascents up the stairs and descents back.
It's very beautiful, I liked it!
Upstairs there is a huge "window" with a view of the sea and Alanya. Very beautiful!
The attraction is located next to Cleopatra Beach.
I recommend viewing and visiting those who will be vacationing in Turkey.
You can go by yourself, but we decided to take a guided tour so that the guide would tell the story of the attraction...
A wonderful place!! it is very beautiful, the view is simply amazing, you can get to the top on foot, there you can go to some kind of observation deck for money
It was very interesting, we went up by funicular, then on foot. The territory is quite large, with a very good view of the sea and the city. I was very impressed by the hall underground. The highlight of this place
I liked the fortress, it's a historical monument, a pirate fort. There is a place below where there are no waves, it is a pleasure to swim in a mask. And the photo from the tower towards the sea and the mountain on the background sticking out of the cloud is just a fairy tale. I am delighted with this place.
Beautiful, accessible. We parked in a residential area, bought tickets after the fact, there are not many tourists during the day. Nearby there is a funicular and a descent into caves, a port with yachts for walking in the sea. If you buy everything on the spot, the prices are cheaper than at the guides and at the tour stalls about once every 12 hours.
We went up and down on the funicular. Then we walked along the wooden floors on the territory of the fortress itself. Beautiful views of the sea and the port, souvenirs are sold, there is a cafe
It's a great place to walk. We often walk there. If you have a residence permit, you can take the funicular for only 30 liras round trip. (So the price is around 315 lira per person)
It takes only a few minutes to climb the funicular. On the territory of the ancient fortress there are cafes where you can relax and have a snack, souvenir shops and shops. A special attraction is the Sulaymaniyah Mosque, which can be visited. The cabin of the funicular offers a magnificent view of the city and Cleopatra Beach.
The place is great. Great view, zeitgeist and all that. But 12 euros for admission is too much. It's a little cheaper with a museum card, but nevertheless. You can walk around for free. The content is provided! 🌿
It is very nice to visit the fortress in the evening. Watch the sunset from the height of the ancient walls. The views are simply cosmic, the photos are just super.
A small fortress from the time of the Roman Empire. Beautiful views of the coast from above. You can walk or take a ride on the cable car. There is a small museum inside. In general, it is a good place to just take a walk.
It's a very interesting and beautiful place. We should take the funicular up here at least once. But you can go down different roads, including along the paths from the port. And go out to the old shipyard. It's very interesting and beautiful there.
A place that is absolutely not worth the money. Admission is 12 euros per person. In fact, there is nothing but an observation deck. Well, walls and walls, a couple of rooms with stands in Turkish. There is no information in Russian or at least English at all except for the cost of tickets. We got to the fortress by bus, which travels once an hour, at least we didn't overpay for the funicular. You can take the bus from the Cleopatra Beach stop, it goes once an hour, about 40 minutes every hour. He leaves the fortress at 55-00 minutes every hour. Use it) although it is better not to go there in principle
The last time I arrived was in March 22, before that at different times of the year, November, summer. We have flown to Turkey 20 times. You can't describe all the places. But the Red Tower holds a special place in my memories.
Kyzyl Kule~ The Red Tower is one of the main tourist attractions of Alanya. . This building of the XIII century is considered a symbol of Alanya and is even depicted on the flag of the city. It is part of the Alanya Fortress complex.
If you come to Alanya on vacation, then you should definitely visit the Red Tower. The Red Tower was built to defend the city from the sea. It has 5 floors. The ethnographic museum is located on the ground floor. All the beauty is on the 5th floor.
We usually get up by cable car, go back down on foot, slowly, looking at cacti that reach the size of a man, go down, stopping at a cafe to sit, admire the port below, Cleopatra beach. Somewhere in the middle of the descent there is a cafe where exceptional salmon is cooked.
Going down to the ships, you can order shrimp and oysters.
There is an observation deck at the top of the fortress, from there an incredible view, it takes your breath away, you stand and feel a sense of freedom, taking in the beauty from a bird's-eye view.
A very interesting historical place. Definitely worth a visit. Take the cable car up. There's a cafe there. The views are beautiful. An ancient cemetery. A very atmospheric place. Fortress. Cactus fruits. You won't regret it. Photos and emotions will be cool
We go there every year. They always dig up something new. Admission is not cheap, 2024 is 12 euros per person. The basilica was opened today. Well, the sea view of Cleopatra beach is incomparable. I recommend you to visit.
Be sure to go. Climb on the cable car. The air is cool pine, I didn't even think that there are so good Comfortable paths, beautiful views of the city, especially at sunset. You can walk for three quiet hours. There is a cafe and souvenirs. You can return on foot or by cable car (tickets are immediately there back)
It is not interesting exactly where to climb the funicular. For three people, I gave $ 46 and went up to see the fortress, they asked for another $ 46. There were a lot of people , but someone didn 't go there . All other places are the Lighthouse , the Fortress are steep . It 's really worth going there. I found everything without the Internet via Yandex Map.
They were in May 2024. Very interesting. We went up by funicular, walked a little and entered the fortress. We walked around the old fortress for half a day. People currently live on its territory. A functioning mosque, souvenir market, cafe. And to be honest, we didn't get around everything, we were tired. But the experience was worth it. The funicular offers a beautiful view of Cleopatra Beach and Alanya.
The fortress itself was not very impressed, but the views from it, that's something!!!! It's worth going up there just for that! There is a bus almost to the fortress, but we went on foot. On the way to the fortress, the locals live in small houses, it's interesting)
A pleasant city, a fortress is its ancient heart. It is better to count on an hour for 2 walks, there is something to see.
They did not go to the Citadel at the very top because of horse prices, without this there are enough impressions and views.
It's beautifully atmospheric.a piece of history. It is located in the city center. There is a beautiful sea on all sides!!!but if without a guide. There is not enough information for tourists
An excellent monument to the ancient culture of Turkey. You can go upstairs in a rented car without paying for the funicular, because the ticket price does not correspond to reality. You'll have to sweat on the narrow streets with oncoming cars, but the beautiful view above is worth it.
It is a very beautiful picturesque place. You can get there by funicular or by bus. (You can also walk, but in the heat it will be very exhausting) magnificent views open from the fortress. In addition to the main route, there are additional small trails that are deserted, which is great for photos or if you quickly get tired of the crowd. The only drawback is perhaps the toilets. They are either paid and can be closed because the caretaker left for 5 minutes (Turkish 5 minutes = 30 is generally accepted if anything), or they are free, but in such a state that it is even life-threatening.
Beautiful views, there is an observation deck along the way. Entrance is 12€ per person, there is nothing to see inside, it is better to look at the next one. Parking 1€ for 8h
A very beautiful place: gorgeous views open from a height during the day, and a magical fairy tale at night. The ascent takes 30/40 minutes, by taxi or car — 15, by bus number 24 — 20/25 minutes. But I advise you to walk up to the top to admire the views and houses.
Very beautiful. Great views. We went up by taxi for $ 10, back by bus for $ 1. Who writes about walking, probably marathon runners😁 the entrance to the castle is $ 12, we looked at everything in half an hour
We went without a tour, walked around the fortress ourselves, we really liked everything. I advise you to come there in the evening when the lights come on
It's not worth your money at all ...
As of September 2024, the price is 500 lira. for 1 person.
In fact, the ruins are stupidly the same as what we saw after the funicular, nothing new and picturesque, the views are the same as before, the piles of stones are the same.
Don't waste your time.
A historical place. We visited the fortress for the first time 10 years ago - the entrance was free, but the territory is not very well maintained. The last time was in the summer of 2023 - super! There are even audio guides in Russian 🙂
Stunning views of the city of Alanya, the Mediterranean Sea, Cleopatra beach.
We really love to be here! ❤️
The Red Tower... historical museum, shipyards, walls and... turtles!!! There are also houses, flowering trees and prickly cacti. Old mosques and cemeteries... so many things!
A gorgeous place! It's just incredible, I love it. The view from the tower is breathtaking, there are places like it in the fortress and in the surrounding area.
It's better to go to the red tower, the fortress is absolutely not worth your money, and it's a perfect pig to sell entrance tickets for 12 euros, but at the same time all information stands are only in Turkish 👎
