The Russia-Abkhazia border crossing. 3 Duty Free stores. You can buy goods in stores only when you move to Russia. Shops are not available on the way to Abkhazia.
If you're lucky , you can walk almost without stopping , or you can get in for a few hours. From Russia to Abkhazia, the control and inspection are serious , they don 't care back
It's dirty all around, but it performs five functions! I go to Duty-free four times a year and usually pass the control in 5 minutes. At a rate of 3 liters of alcohol per person, 4-5 liters I bring in. They never found fault!
I spend my holidays in Abkhazia every year. And every year I am amazed by the dirt near the border, and from Russia. The toilets are not cleaned, it is impossible to enter, we had to endure when we cross the bridge. There is a paid, clean toilet at the border in Aphasia.Last year I wrote to the Adler administration's website, the answer came that everything was removed, and this year everything happened again. I have never seen such an outrage anywhere else!!! Shame on you!!!
We went to dutifry every Sunday, the passage back and forth is not very tiring. Customs from Russia and Abkhazia are polite without any pretensions to small things. Well done, keep it up...
We were scared that we could stay at the checkpoint for a long time, that queues sometimes lasted for 3 hours. We were driving for the first time, we were worried. Everything turned out to be simple and fast. There are both private taxis, minibuses and buses on both sides of the checkpoint. You can easily get where you need to go.
I've been there a few times. It's better than 5 years ago. But this is in the case of a pedestrian crossing, if you are traveling by transport and get into a crowd of minibuses, you can wait a long time, everyone wants to push their group through. The staff at both checkpoints are polite and punctual
From the side of Abkhazia, border guards pass quickly, check passports and that's it, they can make a joke. After our border guards, the mood drops, after the Abkhazian ones, the mood rises.
There are a lot of cars and people, and what I don't like is the very passage of the border, everywhere passengers cross the border in a car with a driver, and then the driver and the car crossed the border, and then you wait for passengers, I think it delays the passage of the border very much
It took an awfully long time to cross the border, it was organized very badly, especially with more or less an influx of people wishing to go to Abkhazia, I can't call it a mess in any other way.
After the reconstruction of this border crossing, it became much better, but during the summer holidays and on long weekends, there are a lot of people at the checkpoint... especially if you go by car!
The staff on the Russian side are polite, friendly, it's quite another thing on the Abkhaz side they are rude, boorish, without respect and upbringing - a 75-year-old woman tired of the road was not allowed to leave at night. The reason is stupid and bonal - they still have a war with people whose last name is Georgian. Shame on Abkhazia!
It used to be a terrible place, the border was crossed for 5-7 hours, not often, so in the season. Now for 20 minutes - 1.5 hours, and on the way back - a bonus in the form of a due free👍👍👍
It is much faster and easier to cross on foot than by transport. Take a taxi to the checkpoint, cross over, and taxi again on the other side. It's cheaper and faster than driving across the border
Ahahah, my story is long, but simple about a dumb girl who can't read the news correctly. They announced the opening of borders in July-August 20, my overdue registration and ass, which has been in the Russian Federation for several months a little illegally, decided to pull off such a feint and thereby perfectly cross the border and make new docks. The St. Petersburg-Adler plane. 5 a.m. taxi to the border, all kind, pleasant people, do not want to let me out of the Russian Federation even, told me that I am not a citizen and I will not pass. That's how I skipped 15 classes in One day, but I swam in the sea with my money at 7 in the morning. And it was the only time in a year that I swam in the sea.And the avatar, by the way, is from Abkhazia, 18 years old, then still quiet and unhindered
Submit your passport without a cover. The Russian side is very meticulous in checking documents, belongings and cars. Be careful with the export of alcohol from Abkhazia, no more than 3 liters without duties, up to 5 liters, see the rules, the norm per person. It is forbidden to export plants, such as bombuka and pal, etc. Shells can't be taken out either. Meat cheeses no more than 5kg in the original packaging in hand luggage. The Abkhazian customs, like real hosts, welcomes you cordially. They are very sensitive to women in their position. Thanks
Excellent checkpoint, as lucky as people are, they pass without queuing, but the wait is worth it, taxis are expensive, get into a minibus, cheap and angry)
You can cross the border quickly, but you can also hang). In general, the border guards are normal, both ours and Abkhazians. The Abkhazians themselves make a good impression on themselves!
At the border, everything depends on the season and the day of the week. You can drive in 30 minutes or you can drive in 1.30 minutes. All passengers are asked to get out except the driver. The driver, if he is a parent, can drive with the children.
They passed quickly. Polite staff. Cleanliness on the street promises the best. But of course it's the people who are to blame, not the customs officers.
We stood for 2.5 hours. The old one is of course, it's time to update it. They have been checking it for a long time. The queues are long. But we went back in 5 minutes.
Yes, it's okay. If you cross the border, be more cunning and smarter, otherwise all sorts of accompanying groups climb out of turn or come up with tall tales. Say that you are also from the tour groups and go ahead of them.
Devastation)
Annoying taxi drivers are clingers both on one side of the checkpoint and on the other.
On the way back, the taxi driver cheated and slipped a 200 bill from the bank of jokes into the change
If you're lucky, you can walk in 15 minutes, or you can drive for two hours! Walking takes 10-20 minutes, choose cabins where there are fewer children!
I have never encountered a problem when crossing this border zone, there are small queues, but no more than in the Lenta store)). Although many reviews write that they had to stand in line for almost five hours. In summer, it is advisable to cross at night, just because of the heat. The border guards do not detain you once again
This year we were lucky enough to get to Abkhazia, the trip turned out to be full of adventures and a lot of positive emotions. There are understanding employees at the checkpoint, they enter into various situations, we are all human beings. The checkpoint passed quickly.

A problematic place for everyone.
The passage of transport is very slow.
I would like the Russian customs to better organize the passage of transport.
Abkhazians climb without waiting in line, letting their own people in line and as a result, Russian tourists are making fools of themselves again...
Sometimes there are queues, but still pretty fast. The staff are polite, helpful, prompt. Now, unfortunately, when traveling to the territory of Abkhazia, it is impossible to bring anything from Dutifry.
There and back twice a year. It's super!!! I like everything, kind and sociable people, they will help, they will tell you, if necessary, they will give you a ride without any conversations to any point at your request

Checkpoint as a checkpoint. How can it be evaluated? There are queues. It's usually freer during the day. A very good Duty Free store!!! Excellent assortment and prices
Who liked to cross the border, who wrote positive reviews? Here, crowds of people with children close windows in front of their noses and send them to other crowded queues, one tells them to go one way, the other is more "high-ranking" or knowledgeable - the other. It's not our first year here, 10-15 years, and the situation doesn't improve at all from the word. Visiting parents and friends is becoming increasingly unacceptable.
There's A Theme Here.. If there are no encumbrances, such as wife's children, then just pass by and wait for the bus like hippies, and that's it, aa, where are you? And he's kind of there. Maybe. Or maybe not. I didn't understand, and I didn't see. But there are cheaper ones.
Compared to the old checkpoint, it's great. The building is equipped with air conditioning and a toilet. To transport heavy things, it is better to take something on wheels, since the path from border to border is not close (for pedestrians). Abkhazian border guards are quite loyal, especially if you are not crossing the border for the first time. In any case, I do not advise you to cross the border drunk, be rude to employees, sort things out, shake your rights). A smile and calmness are the key to health and success. Of course, it's hard in the season...
Departure from Abkhazia, HELL, we stood in the sun for 3 hours. I think this is an incorrect organization of the work of the checkpoint staff. They walk slowly back and forth, and people stand with children in the heat
No complaints. Neither from the Russian side, nor, especially, from the Abkhaz side. Abkhazians are friendlier, which is understandable, we are guests, and this is the land of hospitality. Yes, there are queues, but we need to go to the sea, and they need to work. But it is much better than, for example, on the border with Poland.
There are no questions from the Abkhaz border guards. Difficulties may arise with our "favorite" customs, especially when moving in the opposite direction.
