An ambiguous place, when approaching a checkpoint, sometimes it seems that you are walking past some kind of garbage dump. It takes longer to cross the Russian border, they check it more carefully, the air conditioners in the hall are stuffy. On the Abkhaz side, they check carelessly, also back. The transition time was about 30 minutes.
A stuffy room, you need to go somewhere more freely, i.e. look around)))
Everyone goes through the same window and accumulates when the extreme customs checkpoints are free , as well as in the opposite direction 😎
A calm, hassle-free border crossing. Without crowding, queues and partiality. The customs officers on both sides are professional, polite, and the Abkhazians are very friendly and welcoming.
Border guards who know their job and service. Quickly, clearly, everything is on the case, without unnecessary questions. Those who have not encountered the passage of borders will tell you, explain how to where.
An ill-conceived car pass system, customs representatives from the Russian Federation are clearly not enough, a long car pass is not on inspection, namely on paperwork, while there are not so many places where passengers can wait and not everyone has enough space in the "shadow". There are no such delays on the part of the customs officers of Abkhazia.
We were lucky, and at the end of June we spent 15 minutes crossing 2 borders. But at the beginning of July, there was already a queue from Russia. (for an hour and a half). Employees of Abkhazia carefully check, and may ask questions that you do not expect. And so, the border zone is like a border zone. I passed one, I passed the other, and that's it-rest.
There is a good border post, there are a lot of cars in the afternoon, but I was on a bike, I drove without waiting in line, looked at the documents in 5 minutes and drove on, there were no unnecessary questions. The post is clean, there are no toilets. The border guards are polite. There are no cafes or restaurants, but after checking, you can stop at Duty Free. In general, I recommend it
The time of crossing the border depends on the staff. Some employees work Clearly and Harmoniously. Thanks a lot to them for that!!! Others Slow down and exhaust the nerves (((
There are queues if the car is rented - it is necessary that the contract allows departure, when passing passengers need to go through a separate queue, drivers through their window, it is allowed to leave the child with the driver - our managed to get nervous at the sight of stern men in uniform inspecting the car and burst into tears while I retold the contents of the birth certificate in the window to the inspector, On the way back, my wife was told that she had recovered well since receiving her passport, in general, it was a great trip, we called her an Abkhazian novel.
It's full of people. The rooms are small. It's stuffy and cramped. The air conditioners can't handle it. The procedure is long. They ask for your full name, in detail. They might ask some more stupid questions.. They recommend going to the girls in the windows. They don't ask stupid questions there, or much less
If you cross on foot or by car at night or early in the morning, it's fine. At all other times, and on a tin truck, you can stand for 7, 10 hours. Moreover, the traffic jam is only from the Russian side in both directions, from the side of Abkhazia everything happens instantly.
I travel with an infant. Many thanks to the staff who suggested that you can go without queuing, as well as to people who let women with children through. We tried to pass early in the morning, there were few people. The toilet is in terrible condition. Everything else is fine
The best customs, I always go through with some kind of fear that they won't let me through (although I don't have any joints), but this customs is the most awesome, I gave you a passport and that's it, you crossed the border. the car was also checked for lungs, documents, bottom and that's it, so we are already going to Abkhazia
When you cross the border from Abkhazia or into Abkhazia, the border guards from Abkhazia are very loyal, but if you go from Russia or towards Russia in the queue, you can go for a very long time.
On January 3, we went to Abkhazia, we thought there would be a long queue, but we passed without delay in 15 minutes in the morning and 20 in the evening. We visited New Athos, the Kyndyk hot springs, and Chernihiv, the Abkhazian Miracle, where gazebos and Cafes were built over a mountain river, I recommend🤝😊
Something this year.. The queue is huge ... Towards Abkhazia... Even early in the morning... Maybe it's time to think about measures to increase bandwidth... There is an increase in tourists to Abkhazia every year... It's time to do something...

23.08.2023. We passed the Abkhazian customs by car. They ran into unjustified aggression with insults and threats from the Abkhaz customs officers. I had to turn back. The rest is ruined. A land of lawlessness.
There are 9 windows, if you're lucky, you can walk in 20 minutes, look for a queue where there are fewer children, they take longer. I can't tell you how it works, but it's easier to walk

It is convenient, fast, the staff is competent and polite. You rarely encounter queues. There are always a lot of windows working. You can pass on a Russian passport, no visas and other red tape. Very convenient! Do not forget to prepare documents for children in advance and warn them so that they know their parents' names. This is important, otherwise queues are formed solely because of people's inattention!
The queue, and from our side they always rush, advice: do not get in line for children, it's a long time to wait. Even if this queue with children is half the length of the others. On the Abkhaz side, everything is always "smooth and sweet"
They passed relatively quickly. Min. 40. The car was not heavily inspected visually. And they rushed to rest at the sea. We went back there longer in the afternoon, but still not for long
My favorite place is Abkhazia immediately after it) queues in the morning, sometimes they inspect too much, children are asked a lot of questions, children are afraid of this in a loud voice, by the way, I am also restless
There is no queue as soon as you get there, that is! It would be nice to make toilets at the checkpoint, otherwise street toilets only after you pass through passport control and are very terrible…
After an hour of waiting in line in traffic, the customs officer, when checking documents, told his niece to "make a simpler face.".. That's where I caught fire with shame and shame for such workers at the border, but you can't object to them, they make destinies there.
The border guards are mododians, sometimes you can walk quickly, sometimes in the season you especially stand for 3 hours. There seems to be no room for 3 cleaners, there is definitely no cafe. You could put up some benches.
We stood in line at noon, for about 3 hours, sometimes you can skip, but this is more rare. The significance of the checkpoint is not particularly clear when it is simply passed through during the peak with almost no verification...
The queues are like at the mausoleum in 85, the ugly garbage around - the contrast with the resorts of Sochi is colossal. Dirt, garbage, mess! And this is the Russian side! This is not possible - millions of Russian tourists are going to Abkhazia, put things in order at least from our side!
We urgently need to add employees! The queues are very long. The travel time takes from 40 minutes to 3 hours!!! Although, some employees are very responsive, it pleases)
When crossing the border, the border guards treat you with respect, if you don't mess up. They're doing their job. When returning, you definitely need to go to the Duty Free and stock up on a cheap drunk)))
The border was crossed quite quickly in both directions. The inspection is attentive and does not take much time. Depending on the season, a queue is possible.
Passage is carried out using a Russian passport, no visas and other red tape. At the exit from Abkhazia, local residents ask to smuggle their cigarettes, fruits and so on across the border. Personally, I disagree.
We drove towards Abkhazia in 40 minutes, back in 10 minutes. The staff clearly fulfills their duties, no problems have arisen. While living in Adler, on vacation, we went to the beach in Gagra for a day.
Many people said that it was impossible to get through. I drove there in an hour and back in an hour and a half. Polite border guards. I recommend to be at the border at 4-6 in the morning, there are fewer planes and, accordingly, no tourist buses. Good luck
We were in Abkhazia at the end of September. There was no queue. We stood for 15 minutes only from the side of the Russian border. It is a pity that honey cannot be exported. We had to post it. And they have a very tasty one.
It goes through quickly, without any problems. On the way out of Abkhazia, enterprising individuals often hang out asking to carry dubious plastic bags with them (they did not approach me, xs what they have there). You can get to the checkpoint from the airport by taxi for about 500 rubles (Prices are always different) or you can take a little longer in a shuttle bus, for 100 rubles (for four). I recommend the Bus, because it runs regularly, go just a little bit. From the checkpoint itself in Abkhazia, it will be cheaper by minibus, until it reaches them, taxi drivers stick offering price tags depending on the distance from 1000r and to infinity. And most often they have the same minibuses. Everyone drives the same way, without observing the speed limit (national feature), so go + / - the same time. Unless the minibus will have to wait a little longer, because taxi drivers often intercept people, and minibuses fill up more slowly. At least 4-5 people are recruited and leave. Payment to the minibus driver upon disembarkation.
In principle, the transition is fast, the inspection is also possible, you can go through the usual and passport, there are no queues in arishatravel_vl, fast, clean, you can have a snack.
Both in winter and in summer, it is terribly stuffy inside, especially when there are not long queues..when customs officers arrive for an internship, huge queues immediately form (you can see a secret desire to work in the FSB manifests itself and practically interrogations begin, which greatly increase the time of crossing the border)
Of course, the passage of the border should be simplified, and somehow talk with employees about the speed of passport verification....Someone does it in 30 seconds (I'm sure the quality does not suffer, it's a pro), but the day before yesterday, in one window, the customs officer checked everyone for at least 5-6 minutes...It's a very long time in high season!
We were in August, and we managed to pass the border crossing relatively quickly, I took some Abkhazian wine on the way back and did not need to declare chacha. Taxi drivers at the exit to Sochi very obsessively offer transportation services, and the fare is very different from a regular city taxi
They work fast. Shifts are from 7 to 8:00 and from 19:00 to 20:00 at this time longer. It's better to drive to the right. There are toilets and a duty-free shop. Pass through the Passport of the Russian Federation!!!

There are queues everywhere on the Russian side, and there is a complete absence of queues on the Abkhaz side. It is much faster to cross the border on foot than by car. There is a dutik!!!
Pedestrian and automobile crossing between Russia and Abkhazia.
Comfortable.
If you're lucky, you won't have to stand in line to check documents from the Russian side.
On the part of Abkhazia, all this is done quickly and there are practically no queues, except for situations with the migration of workers from Abkhazia to their homeland.
Everything is clear and businesslike on both the Russian and Abkhaz sides.
You do not need a foreign passport, a Russian one is enough.
You can get to the border by bus and minibus and, well, by taxi.
It's a common thing.
Sometimes there are queues at pedestrian control, people stand for 20-30 minutes per person... plan ahead and check with the border guards on the spot if there are any more passages nearby
The staff at the checkpoint work well: politely, quickly, almost without queues. They pass by on foot. They are looking at an ordinary passport. Honey was taken from one girl for some reason. We recommend it.
Cars take a very long time to pass. Pedestrians and car passengers pass faster, but it is unclear why so many unnecessary questions are asked by border guards? They pass to Europe faster than to Abkhazia. And this is at the Russian checkpoint. Everything is fast for Abkhazians.
We passed the border without any problems. At the end of August, the passage time to Abkhazia was about 20 minutes. It takes about 30 minutes to get back. There were a lot of cars. The inspection is purely formal. I feel sorry for the border guards, it's been hot all day.
Queue in the morning on foot from 6/10 traffic jam on foot in the afternoon 9/10, back faster.
Cleanliness 5/10 repair 5/10 safety is the main focus on documents
