Yes, of course, there is a queue, but it is not critical. This is the state border. The irony. The border guards on both sides are very restrained and welcoming. They do their job very kindly.Just so as not to stand here for a long time, do not be lazy to arrive early in the morning and you will be happy.
An ordinary checkpoint at the border, where serious border guards work. Of course, there are long queues, but without this, hardly any border can work. But when you go to Apsny, you immediately feel some kind of intoxicating smell of freedom) Mountain view, beauty) Konen on both sides there are taxis, minibuses and buses, shops and a toilet
The main thing is to behave confidently. Touts are literally snatched away by vacationers in a desire to bring them for "inexpensive". We used minibuses. We went to Gagra for 150 rubles per person, it was given for 200 rubles. On the way back, we bought a huge box of tic tac in Duty Free. And they were happy.. We got to the airport by bus for 28 rubles per person.
The usual checkpoint. Everything is organized perfectly! Walking is certainly faster - 15 minutes and you are in Abkhazia. Yes! A wonderful dew tee free is practically on the territory.
Hello, kind people! We have repeatedly crossed the border, Russian services check documents very thoroughly, Abkhazian nominally, there are duty-free shops on the territory, who needs strong alcohol, it is better to dial here, beer and wine are factory-made, I emphasize, inexpensive and high-quality in the shops of Abkhazia. If you do not hurry, you can negotiate with local taxi drivers very budget-friendly, buses and minibuses during the day. Friends, remember your Family, watch Anatoly Kolesov and Dmitry Belousov! Russia wake up! Goodness!
I ask you to deal with the staff of the customs office in Abkhazia, for how many times we have been traveling with my young man, he has a Ukrainian passport, and every time they demand a considerable amount on the side of Abkhazia, and everything is OK on the Russian side. This time he demanded 50 thousand in general, presented some kind of left-wing resolution, then as it turned out that such a resolution did not exist at all, but then abruptly jumped to 15, if measures are not taken in this regard, then next time we will resolve the issue through other bodies.
Everything is fine - but be careful - specify what you can carry and what not. The border is still (although very formal). Citizens of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine! To you - especially - the border! They may not miss it if the documents are not completely smooth (especially now - according to covid). And remember that customs officers turn off their sense of humor while on duty!
This time (August) it turned out to be quick and efficient. I respect the staff, they served me quickly. Of course, there were queues for pedestrians, as always.
The customs officers are sullen but polite. The main attraction of this crossing is the duty free shop. It is located after the bridge on the left, if you go from Russia. Just before the transition, the market with the lowest prices on the coast. I recommend you to visit. But Abkhazia is an amateur, I "didn't go in."
I passed this border both by car and on foot. In principle, queues depend on the day of the week, time of day and time of year. In general, there are no quibbles when crossing the border. Toilets certainly leave much to be desired, cleaning would be done there more often)))
The border is like a border. According to the length of the passage time, it all depends on the time of day. On average, it takes about 2 hours to stand if on foot, about an hour if by car. But if you drive a car, you won't be able to leave it in the green zone and go to the duty free. Just in front of the checkpoint to park and walk back and forth, it's a loss of about 5 hours.
August 2022, crossing the border by car - we entered Abkhazia from Russia quite quickly, after 2 weeks back there was a huge queue, we lost 4 hours... In general, everything is fast and correct, the checkpoint staff redirects flows to reduce queues
The border guards are not very talkative, they perform their duties: calmly, politely and quickly. Thank you. The whole family went through everything quickly and clearly.
It's not the fault of the border guards, but queues kill during the season. In the morning at 8.40 we arrived, I stood for 1.5 hours. Now there are border guards on the street for passengers to leave for Abkhazia. It is better to get out immediately and take a queue while the car with the driver moves along the queue of cars. At 22.30 we went back in 25 minutes
By and large, it is not worth paying attention to the checkpoint, but still we could have already made more windows so as not to accumulate crowds of people there. And we got caught in the rain on the way out, so they didn't let us go inside, they stood at street checkpoints.
They passed quickly: it took 5 minutes to get there, and it took 7 minutes to get back)). I brought back 3 blocks of cigarettes (one block per adult is allowed), when scanning the suitcase, it apparently came to light, the border guard asked how many blocks, I replied that 2, no more questions were asked. In general, the border crossing is decorative, but due to the fact that locally produced goods in Abkhazia are significantly cheaper than their Russian counterparts due to low taxes, it serves as a barrier for merchants.
It all depends on which side you are from and what you are set up for. If you are going to Abkhazia, it is better to take a taxi and bargain a little. If you got into a minibus, get ready for a race, as for survival ... 😉
Super, they passed quickly! The border guards of Abkhazia left the coolest impression))) you can joke with them))) and with ours, just to make a joke ... and a mustache
Queues. It's relatively clean, but no one really watches. I didn't notice the cafe. The border guards are great! No complaints about the professionalism of the Russians. No complaints about the bigotry of the Abkhazians! :-)
An excellent post, they passed quickly, the border guards are kind, they will tell you something, advise you, there were no problems with passing the border, everything is fine, so do not be afraid, everything is normal.
Surprisingly, they crossed the border with Abkhazia very quickly this year (and in one direction and also back) I liked the new terminal (not what it was in 2010!!!) The employees, of course, are serious as always!
- For what purpose are you going to Abkhazia!?
- What were you doing in Abkhazia?
🏝️👙😊
It takes passengers a very long time to pass the checkpoint because of the buses with tourists. It's quite passable by car. It is better to drive through / pass the checkpoint at night. Queues at the pedestrian checkpoint pass at different speeds, due to overly vigilant employees who arrange an interrogation instead of just skipping...
Somehow it is already necessary to equip the checkpoint, there are more and more tourists, but there are no really toilets, the queues are huge in the season ((((, you can probably make more cabins.....A large number of walking dogs is also scary, especially when you are with children (so these dogs also shit right in the very room of the checkpoint)
Be sure to go to the dutik and take the Estonian Mint drink. This 50% mint vodka is drunk like water and takes away better than any chacha. And the price of 500-400rubles is more than acceptable.
We were lucky, we crossed the border in 10 minutes when we were driving both there and back. There are many checkpoints open. We were on our own, without a car. They say it can take about an hour to cross the border by car.
Guys, this is just a Fairy Tale, come to Abkhazia. Nature is here, words cannot convey the truth of a fairy tale and sooooo clean air, which we all really miss. Just take a walk and you will get unforgettable impressions. Write down who was here.... What do you think?
We went to Abkhazia in our car. The first time I moved across the border by car. I have never crossed the border faster. But there is a long queue back in the evening, border guards work quickly, but customs officers are not in a hurry and it is important to choose a queue of cars with Russian license plates, since Abkhazian cars are serviced for a very long time.
There is a border, there is a border. In general, it is not a very difficult passage. There are no places where you can sit down. Sometimes it is difficult for people with sore legs to stand in line. On the territory of the Russian side it is very messy, not tidy.
It's better to go both ways before 7 a.m., otherwise the traffic jams are hellish.
Be careful, taxi drivers are scammers on the Russian side with an unrealistic price tag!!
4k per trip to Sochi railway station(31.4 km)
I didn't want to give up my luggage. They took away their belongings by force.
We took a Yandex taxi for 1130 rubles.
Without unnecessary fuss, the service works quickly and seamlessly at the border, everything is clear and professional. The process takes a little longer on weekends than on weekdays. The morning is the best time. Have a great mood and have a good trip!
If it were possible to put an anti-star, I certainly would! At the entrance to Abkhazia, a nightmare is happening, cars from three rows gather into one, everyone is on edge, everyone is shouting and swearing! The workers of the checkpoint are not doing anything in order to somehow fix the situation!!! I think they're even too lazy to be lazy!!! After all, it was enough to clearly define the rows, then there were no questions! TRASH!!!!
It's quiet in the opposite direction.
We walked. It took about 15 minutes! Everything is fast and clear. But, as we understood, it is important to get there at a certain time (we passed at about 14.30). There is a dutifry when leaving Abkhazia.
I crossed the border before 7.00 in the morning, I stood in line for 1 hour , later the queue is much longer, you can stand up to 2 hours, the territory is clean, the staff is not always polite.
The queue is when you get there, we drove very fast at night, for a long time during the day, it's the season and there are a lot of people, The staff is tactful and attentive.
For me, the border means that I have almost arrived. That's why I love this place. I'm going by car. The passage time cannot be predicted. There was a problem 15 years ago, and in recent years they have been trying. I am sympathetic, but still the border.
The checkpoint is spacious, clean, the split system works - there is no heat, the checkpoints passed quickly and both sides.
Employees are directed to more free windows.
I don't even know what to say about the checkpoint. It is there :) The streams are divided into freight and passenger (pedestrian). There are huge queues during the day. We passed at 5 a.m. in the direction of Abkhazia, we passed very quickly. We returned at 19 o'clock, and also passed without delay. On the side of Abkhazia, there is a dutifrey store, a bus goes from the checkpoint to Sochi.

Unlike the customs of the Russian Federation , everything is many times faster and this is + , there is no queue , you do not get out of the car - 🔥(everyone smiles , you feel like a suspect at our customs). Do not forget to buy car insurance , in June 22 it cost 1000 rubles. At the post that was stopped behind Pitsunda and asked for insurance, by the way, this was the only one for the whole vacation, I drove around the sights of Abkhazia in my car for almost 2 weeks. The conclusion is faster and more fun than at customs with the Russian Federation.
I visited this checkpoint for the first time. I thought there were huge queues.. But I was wrong, the work is well-coordinated and thoughtful, everything is very fast. I advise you!
Incredible queues for passengers, people stand with young children for a very long time, for 1-1.5 hours, cars with drivers pass control very quickly, but passengers of these cars pass control in the general queue, where bus passengers also, which slows down the progress of the queue.
Well, what can I say. The place is specific. There were no problems with crossing the point. This was probably due to the fact that it was not the tourist season and the pandemic period. There were no people and there was no queue. A lot of garbage. Everything looks very dilapidated and outdated. If it was a hot summer day and there were a lot of people, then it would be an ordeal. Before crossing the border towards Russia, it is better to buy products from the table of Abkhazia, shawarma and so on. Since the Abkhazians are both cheaper and tastier.
There are queues, but they move quickly, it's stuffy inside the checkpoint. They climb a lot without waiting in line, but more often they are local, it's better not to mess with them, let them pass.
Oooooooh! This is a unique place! Before the point, we have an authentic (as they say now) market on our side. Spices, tea, dried tomatoes, we took enough for the whole winter!
For the first time in my life, I crossed the border on foot!
Actually, my interest was in duty free. And it's worth it! They were interested in whiskey! I dream of coming back! I recommend it!
The border is fast, no one is detained and everyone is happy to see everyone. They check only the passport and let them go in peace)) Duty Free does not work at the crossing from the Russian border, only in the opposite direction
Disgusting job! We were returning by minibus from an excursion to Abkhazia. The passengers passed through passport control and waited for more than 2 hours for the drivers to issue exit documents. The time is after 24 hours, there are no private cars, only buses. Small children. A nightmare!!! Who can complain about such a bestial attitude towards people?
