Good afternoon. The transition from Russia to Abkhazia was remembered for two moments. 1. it became much faster to pass the checkpoint, the windows are open, which surprised me very quickly, without delay and unnecessary questions. 2. To travel by transport (a minibus transfer was ordered from local people who constantly cross the border) I will clarify: we left Abkhazia, went to a hotel near the airport, waited two hours, drove an hour, waited an hour for the transport to be inspected and agreed upon departure the most annoying thing is that no one needs this inspection, it was done on departure.. but the documents were apparently checked very carefully. Whoever was there saw plenty of time, everyone looks significant. The most interesting thing is that the car of the Russian Federation goes along a separate lane. In short, if you can go to the plane and be late, it's easier to get to the checkpoint and go and order a taxi from Sochi. Good luck to everyone.
Abkhazia is a good place to relax ( of course there were problems before) but everything is fine now. My wife and I occasionally stop by when we are in Sochi. Beautiful beaches ( cleaner than Sochi , so say the Sochi residents themselves, I agree ) , good roads , acceptable service ( there are hotels aimed at our tourists , full transfer) and of course nature! No wonder these places were considered the best under the Union and many people aspired here . We stopped by on 06/23/12 in the afternoon ( I recommend refueling in Sochi ) AI95 costs 62-58 rubles , insurance is needed to travel around Abkhazia , very sincere police officers will help with it ( this is not a joke ) , it costs 1000 rubles for a week . I recommend local alcohol :) very good quality! They are already diluting it in Sochi :) . 1 liter of cognac costs about 600-800 rubles . And of course fruits, everything grows there , bananas too :) I saw it myself . If you have not been to Abkhazia, I recommend it!
Addition, be extremely careful on the road moving into the depths of Abkhazia towards (New Athos), Cows walk freely, lie , stand , do not move like a monument , and all this in the middle of the road ( the Abkhazian bold breed) , have a good rest!
I completely forgot, IT's VERY IMPORTANT! Turn off the internet on your phone!!! Roaming charges are simply insane!! When entering Abkhazia from the right side , where insurance is sold, they also sell a local SIM card costs 300 rubles unlimited + 35 rubles a day , in any case it is profitable ( believe me .. I got to 1 tr in 5 minutes :( ) .
It's just tin, I didn't go through, turned around and left, stood for an hour waiting for the 6th window to open, there are only 6 of them in the hall. A friend drove by car in 10 minutes. I was passing a pedestrian car, 5 windows were open!!! On the 6th, the stuffiness did not open, the end of September, the condors turned everything off, they save electricity, people have a cool hall right on the tail street, that year 2 employees worked in each window and two more windows were opened on the street, this year they create an artificial crowd!!! People go home from work, someone goes to work in the morning, children go to the section, school. You ask the inspector to open the 6th window, he says there are no employees! Although in fact they are!
We passed the border to Abkhazia and Russia remarkably well. Everyone is very polite, they try to make the flow of people pass faster and people do not suffer in anticipation.
We passed customs on 02.10.24 from Abkhazia to the Russian Federation, well, very business employees with important people, no one warns that there is a separate queue for Russian cars (the rightmost lane), we stood behind Abkhazian cars for about 2 hours, because someone did not have enough to pass the border, really it is impossible write an ad to the CARS of the Russian Federation on the far right!!!!!!!
The inspection is superficial, there was no queue at the pedestrian border.
We have been going on vacation to Abkhazia for eight years now, and every time the Abkhaz side of the border amazes us with the lack of queues, the simplicity of border control, its cordiality and hospitality. It feels like they've been waiting for you for a whole year, when you come back to them on vacation!
Biased attitude towards citizens there is no sample of how to write an explanation, they are forced to rewrite it several times, they do not spoil their working day, and others first of all need to be human, this is all at customs from the Russian Federation
I don't know how to say this, but in this place you can buy everything from tangerines to very serious things.
Constant traffic jams, as far as I remember, the road is 2 lanes with 1 lane in each direction, but in fact there is one lane in both directions, but drivers constantly get up on this single lane and start unloading their goods and complete chaos begins on the road, so in this place I advise everyone to move only on foot and not look for problems on ass, this is the place where problems can be found very quickly.
Customs officer Eptikova has a very terrible attitude is rude, communicates rudely, says they got to the wrong customs officer, such customs officers should be driven out of there immediately, a boor and not a customs officer
A controversial assessment, in Abkhazia I would put 5, for Russia - 1! We went to Abkhazia quickly, but it was a whole adventure back. My children and I went in the wrong place, because there are no really pointers and, as if for evil, we did not take the phone, as a result, of course, we passed the border, they even tried to smuggle contraband into us!!! However, the shock was that we got off in the wrong place, my husband drove on one side, and we got off at the bus station, as a result, we had to walk 2 km. But!!!! When we got there, they wouldn't let me back in, saying why didn't you go out there!? Hello! Where is at least one pointer???? This talent is rude, ill-mannered, boorish! Do what you want and help yourself, and by the way, I'm over 33 on the street with two children!!! Shame on our border guards!!! I do not dispute that it is my fault that I did not take the phone, but when we passed the border there, there were no such problems, everything is clear and understandable!
And I will say the following about Abkhazia, the place is very beautiful. But! You turn off the Internet immediately, roaming is wild, incoming calls and SMS are paid! Download maps offline in advance!!!! And prepare cash, they don't like cards, and many excursions are cash-only. And ATMs charge a commission of 3,000 thousand 100 rubles for cash withdrawals!!! You need to get insurance for the car, but if you are going to Tsandrypsha, and you do not plan to ride your car from it, you can not apply for it. All police officers and their insurance assistants, who can also stop you, ask for insurance as soon as you arrive in Gagra
In Abkhazia, Tourists are looked at as a purse, they want to cheat everywhere, well, there is nothing good there, no civilization and no responsibility for tourists. The locals do what they want and no one does anything to them for it - they cheat, arrange fights, behave as they want. Homemade wine at every corner in 1.5 liters of plastic in the heat of 30 degrees lies in the sun and their other home drinks, honey at 1000 rubles for 200 grams, tea at 600 rubles for 100 grams, trout at 300 rubles 100gr, etc.
Relax better in the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory. There is nothing to do in Abkhazia, the country is stuck in the 90s.
We traveled by train in the month of August of the 23rd year. By train !!At 6 am, a border guard comes in And my whole family was dropped off on the platform just because the child turned 14 two days ago. No one was interested in understanding that I physically could not make a passport in one day. At the age of 14, there should be a passport and they were no longer interested in anything. Then we crossed the border on foot, from the side I watched how the border guards were interested only in passports, fourteen-year-old children had a feeling that they were only there for this purpose in order not to let the child into Abkhazia. I 've been going there for nine years !!!!! Not the tears of the children, not the tears of the wife, nothing affects them. They absolutely don't care..may they be empty
I passed the border by car (August 2021) It took 30-40 minutes, although there seemed to be a lot of cars. You can get to dutik only from Abkhazia. Well, as it is, I have positive impressions)
On the plus side: always competent staff at the border!polite attitude towards citizens!it happens for a long time, of course, but this is due to the number of citizens traveling at the same time)Minus:Duty free is closed for pedestrians / motorists in the Russia-Abkhazia direction, a very incomprehensible passage system.why do you need to cross the Abkhazian border if you enter Abkhazia to visit Duty free and then go through it again...🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️- previously, it was possible to go in and buy all sorts of goodies for native Abkhazians and then quietly go to Abkhazia, now the system is a nip... these Dyutics are losing income and only because of the incomprehensible passage system.
It was January 23rd. Abkhazia is super!!!the border guards are also super, friendly, they suggested everything. But our border guards are rude, opening the car they took out everything, showed it, braked at the exit and sent it back. It turns out that one looked and said go, and the second "I" did not look, they say you never know what he said, I did not look yet, it is very important apparently. If you want, take the car back for inspection, my husband pulled everything out of the car again and said the suitcases on the tape, although they waited for the car for half an hour and passed passport control, I don't care. Passing a suitcase with empty cans, another inspector wondered why he should carry empty cans. We were in Moscow and my daughter took the empty cans for stew, there were 2 sets of skis in the car, then we went to Sochi for a ski trip. We are Russians and we are returning home, the border guards are the Face of the country, but they are so rude, I just didn't even want to go home.
During the season, there are long queues at the checkpoint from those wishing to travel to Abkhazia and alcohol tourists who want to buy alcohol at Duty Free. Of the noteworthy items in the assortment of three stores is alcohol. The assortment and prices are almost identical, but may differ slightly in individual items. And as it turned out, the rate of alcohol withdrawal per person is -2 liters.
We were at the border on August 4 and 13. We passed the border quickly, without incident. When we arrived in Adler, we were led to the station by a minibus taxi, because we had two families and had children. The service cost 1000 rubles, Adler Railway Station is the border with Abkhazia, Vesely village. Of course, we got there quickly, in comfort and didn't get into traffic jams, but the price difference is significant. The bus fare is about 40 rubles. The border itself does not stand out in any particular way. Everything is loyal, do not quibble, everything is generally well-done. There is a toilet. Already in Abkhazia, the price of a minibus and a bus is 50p difference. But the time is basically the same. We went to Sukhum by minibus, it was hot, a lot of people, crowded. They didn't charge for the luggage. We took the bus back from Sukhum, we liked it more, because the bus is spacious, more luggage space and more windows for ventilation. There are no condors in the minibus or on the bus. According to the time, it is said that two hours, but it turned out to be more.. About 40 minutes somewhere... When we were traveling from Sukhum, we left at 12, and at the Adler railway Station we were at 16.40 ... We crossed the border just as quickly. But they decided to take the bus to the station.. Two buses run from the border to Adler Railway Station. One of them is through the Airport. The one who does not enter the Airport goes according to the schedule, I think every half hour or an hour, I do not remember exactly. We decided to wait for him, but it turned out that he did not come for our time. While we were waiting for him, the one that sent 10 buses through the airport. That is, they walk every 5-10 minutes. So we got on it and drove through the airport. The trip turned out to be creepy. The heat, the bus is packed, traffic jams.. I was only pleased with the price of about 40p ticket, and about 40p for all luggage. We drove for about an hour through traffic jams. After the Airport, the railway station is not far away, I think in a couple of stops.
On the part of Russia, rude shafs are sitting and it is unclear what they are yelling from their booth. People do not hear anything and ask again several times, this, of course, takes time.
Women there are angry as dogs, so it's better to approach men. They are also tortured there, but more polite.
On 09/26/2022, we crossed the border on a transfer from Biblio-Globus. They told me to get all the things and go to the checkpoint with them. There are special devices at the entrance to inspect things, but no one uses them. They were detained at the pass without explanation, taken to a separate room where two border guards were looking for something on the computer. They didn't ask any questions and didn't even apologize for the delay. If they suspected that I was avoiding partial mobilization, then there were young people much younger than me in our transfer (I was born in 1965, we took a ticket on 09/15/12.g. even before the mobilization was announced). No explanation whatsoever. This is the first time. Return transfer by bus with a capacity of 50 people. And the same thing. Take things and go to the checkpoint, where again no one checks these things. Some kind of last century, there are service dogs, technical means for checking vehicles. And the behavior of the Russian border guards is disgusting, they shout if people cannot pass through the turnstile with their belongings. Just because of this attitude, I don't want to go. And I liked the rest, the weather was great, the sea was warm, there were more new excursions compared to 2017. And our border guards are two.
There are no queues, everything is fast. The staff is friendly. There are several cafes and shops at the exit. The toilet is clean. There are two decent duty-free shops on the territory of Abkhazia. Perfumes are cheaper than in Russian chain stores.
The absence of queues at the Abkhaz-Russian border has pleased us this year. We didn't stay more than 5-8 minutes. Quiet and peaceful, clean and cozy. The air-conditioned bus from Vesely to the airport didn't keep you waiting either.
It's a wonderful place to relax, this is the third time I've been here. Gagra is 15 minutes away by bus for 150 rubles, Pitsunda, New Athos, everything is nearby nature palm trees, sea, grub, Bukhalovo, everything is at the highest level, I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE
Convenient checkpoint, you can get from Adler station by bus, you must have a Russian passport, a certificate for children. The staff is polite, very good security and high-quality inspection. Thanks to the Border Guards for their professionalism
I recommend crossing the border late at night in the summer, so there are fewer people.
Or if you eat on your own without a car during the day. It is better to go to PSOU by taxi from Adler - walk through the point - and already on the side of Abkhazia, pre-order a transfer from PSOU to any city of Abkhazia. It is the same way back from Abkhazia to the Russian Federation.
There is only one reason: people are allowed to pass quickly, but drivers with cars (especially Abkhazians) are being harassed by the border guards of the Russian Federation for a long time. Because of this, the border crossing is delayed.
In August of the 22nd year, drivers with Russian license plates from Abkhazia were allowed through a separate corridor and faster.
There are a lot of people in the season. But there are a lot of booths. And therefore the queue passes quickly. I would like to mention the border guards from the Abkhaz side. Well done. But sometimes our brains can soar. But those who have Electric scooters try to make them fold and drag, but after calling the main one and small negotiations, they manage to just roll it next to them without folding.
I have not crossed other border crossings in my car, so there is nothing to compare it with. But in terms of my impression of crossing this border crossing, I can say that in principle there are no problems. On the part of the Russian Federation, in principle, everything is fast. If you are driving a car with Russian license plates. There are also no problems with walking. The only thing that happens is traffic jams, but in general everything is fast. From the side of Abkhazia, everything is even faster. There are no traffic jams and a thorough search. In terms of travel by car. In the case of moving to a car with the registration of Abkhazia, there are also no problems from the Abkhaz side, everything is as fast as possible. But with the Russian Federation, the processing of customs documents for entry into the Russian Federation can take 2-5 hours. Therefore, be prepared to spend some time on the design. If you are with the passengers. They will have to wait for you on the territory of the Russian Federation. Sometimes it takes a very long time.
It is convenient to cross the border with a Russian passport. There is usually no long queue. The passage is quite fast. The inspection is very conditional. Clear. The air conditioner works for the whole week, but does not cope much
For me, this is the scenery for the movie "back to the future", when it's great to take a ride through the places of childhood... nothing has changed. Abkhazia, as always, is beautiful, the main thing is not to show off and not to pose as a pink-cheeked burnt Muscovite, the Owner of life, with the words "you don't know who my dad is" none of them here turned into a real man. In short, do not show off, Respect other people's traditions, do not bend your fingers, get drunk exclusively at home. And after crossing this border, taste the wine, not the chacha (buy it home with you)And it's better to dilute it a little bit, like the Greeks.
I arrived at one o'clock.
At first, I was scared by the queue at the entrance to the checkpoint, but it goes fast.
They are allowed to pass on a Russian passport, it is better not to take a foreign passport because then there will be problems with staying in Georgia.
Next, it is better to choose a queue where there are fewer children or minors, they are asked for longer.
After passing the checkpoint, there are many taxi drivers, they take a lot of touts, but bargain.
My girlfriend took a taxi to Sukhum, it cost her 2000rubles (cheap)
You can save money and take a minibus - in my case, its cost was 350 rubles ...
Minibuses are assembled within half an hour.
The parking lot of minibuses is a little further, between the shops to the left, along the steps.
Everything is fine, it went very quickly. They do not keep in vain, attentive and friendly all. Organized . Of course, the common area leaves much to be desired. I understand a lot of people, but you can also organize regular cleaning. It is not realistic for a 5-year-old child to use it.
We arrived at 1.08. at 7-8 am. The queue was like a mausoleum. But she was moving fast enough. We stood there for 40 minutes. The car was checked quickly, but then I waited another 40 minutes for passengers (family). People do not know how to read that passengers get out of the car in front of the stop line and not at the entrance to the terminal. From this, such a queue did not gather at the window of the ps. And a lot of passengers were checked much earlier than their cars. "Bad people", what to take from them.
Everything is fine as before, but I was upset by Duty Free - prices increased 1.5-2 times.. For some individual items, it makes sense to buy (which we did ..), everything else for the declared money is easier to buy at Sochi airport (in the departure area). But in fairness, it should be noted that prices in Abkhazia have increased 1.5 times (believe me, I know what I'm talking about..), and yet, who wants to save a little and visit unusual places, you need to go there (although for some cases, it may be unsafe ..) The choice is yours :)!
We passed the border only yesterday. We were driving our car, the spouse is the owner. We arrived at 8 a.m. so that there would be fewer cars. The driver passes our border by car, everyone else goes on foot and goes through their windows. The spouse passed in 40 minutes, we in an hour. There are 6 windows in Abkhazia. Drivers need an STS, a license, and a passport. They look at the trunk, the interior. Children have a birth certificate. They ask questions, full name, date of birth, name of mom, dad, and so on. The Abkhaz border has generally passed 2 minutes. Once you arrive in Abkhazia, there is an insurance point. Get local insurance. We got 1000 thousand for our 7 days. There are a lot of traffic police, we were stopped four times, seeing the insurance, we were released immediately.
It took even less time to get back to the border. 20 minutes at 11:00
The Russia-Abkhazia border is a place with its own atmosphere, rules and flavor. There you can observe very interesting sketches from the lives of people of dozens of different nationalities, different social status and cultures. The human hub. But why on the Russian side there are painted, lacquered border guards in heels in the style of an ala-model, I still did not understand. However, it is also a subculture, apparently, such "faces" of the border service))
July 2022. There are no queues on the Abkhaz side, the check is quick. All the problems are on the Russian side. In the direction of Abkhazia, the waiting time is from one hour to three. It's a mess with queues to your inspection lane, sometimes 4-5 rows of cars are crammed into one lane.
There are problems with storm sewers on the way back from Abkhazia to Russia, the whole road is like a canal in Venice, and cars are like boats. You stand and hear the waves lapping in the protection of the engine. The water is at the level of the curb stone. But the order is greater, it took about an hour.
Oh))) for spices only here, there is a wonderful spice shop, there are great spices! Straight packed in 1kg. And there are cups. The prices are great. There is a dwarf in this shop! This is the best store! Well, you can buy fruits and vegetables
I love Abkhazia!!! I'm resting here. Clear sea. There are many sights, holy places. Very hospitable residents. I will smoke honey only in Abkhazia - chestnut
No offense, I'm Russian myself. But our border guards have been doing everything for a very long time. And with such faces and attitude as if you owe them. Moreover, women mostly shake their rights. The advice is better to go to the windows where the guys are sitting. But, it's worth it if you want to have a budget vacation and don't want to choose between the sea and the mountains. It's a shame that only Russian goods in Abkhazia are 3 times cheaper. And some are not even found on shelves in Russia. And they have it. For example, spices. Not to mention that there are goods from Turkey and Europe.
This is a border post this year in two stages - first your documents are looked at by the first, unfortunately, the only employee in military uniform, (therefore the queue is just crazy), and only then you are divided into many, fortunately, posts where sooo seriously look at you, docks and children. By the way, for those coming from Abkhazia on their own, I do NOT advise you to get on buses, they take you through the whole city!!! With crazy traffic jams and the number of stops and people, you will remember my words more than once when you lose a lot of time, patience, after an hour and a half reaching the railway station or Sochi airport. On the square after passing the border, look for those who are not over 1000!!! it will take 10 km, and for 200 from each. And bargain up to this price, it's ok!!! Don't get fooled by crazy taxi drivers!!! And take care of yourself! 🖐😃
If you prepare documents in advance and behave appropriately, then everything is fast and clear. There are quite a lot of booths, you just need to watch carefully to get in line for families with children, especially by proxy.
When crossing the border, it is necessary to pass posts with Russian border guards, customs officers of Abkhazia, border guards of Abkhazia. But... the transition is very fast. We were hiking, we had two backpacks with us, we passed through Russian passports. There are a number of goods, substances and plants that cannot be transported to Abkhazia from Russia and from Abkhazia to Russia, respectively. You can easily find a list of prohibited items on the Internet. Before the visit, there was an alarm about the attitude towards Russians. Then it becomes clear that we are just tourists for them, and they love tourists, this is development for their economy.
The border crossing is not very long. Russian border guards look at everything for a long time, ask questions, and rehearse the "working view" on you. You can do it faster. Abkhazian border guards, they don't care at all. It seems to me that it is possible to go ahead, the passport was shown in open form and that's it. Abkhazia needs to work on its part in terms of movement. We left by car, there was a traffic jam for almost 3 hours, everyone was climbing, and they had police standing at the border. You will put things in order as you move towards the border.
During the holiday season, you can quickly skip the flow of tourists. And by the way, those are driving by car on the navigator. There is a very tricky exit to the checkpoint by car. And it happens that Yandex leads to a pedestrian point. PEOPLE BE CAREFUL, a gang of gypsy scammers is working at the pedestrian point, they offer to show the way and, like, help at the border without queuing with passage. Don't get fooled. They ask for 2500 per person)))))
The heat in the room, although everything is equipped with air conditioning, they save on electricity, there are few windows, people stand for hours, and in summer there will be a complete trash
Russia-Abkhazia crossed the border in 2021, there were a lot of people, but everything went well. It's nice that you wished to have a great rest and helped put the bag on the tape. Well done. I really liked it.
