A gorgeous place, nature is beyond praise, polite friendly staff, good food. But....Friends, the rooms leave a very unpleasant impression. The musty smell from the wallpaper, which is 30 years old and which you want to tear off, buy a can of paint and paint the whole room, it's inexpensive, as inexpensive as washing blankets, which are unpleasant to pick up, not to hide behind them. At the same time, the bed linen is clean and ironed. It is not expensive to put a clean ironing board and a hair dryer on each floor, so as not to go down to the first floor with a wet head, and then carry it back. You can't dislike your guests so much and it's not the fault of the staff working there, they work. This is the fault of the owners of the boarding house. The whole impression of the holiday is spoiled by the fact that the room is on the "fuck off". We need to do something already, and not "ride" on junk. Expensive repairs are not required, but basic things must be done.

The Kolkhida Boarding House is a building built in the good Soviet times, located at a certain height above sea level. Everything was provided for during the construction! Playground, sports ground, with a small set of equipment, places to relax in the shade with modern Wi-Fi. And even a lift (elevator), so as not to go to the sea and back on foot. There is a large dining room, the food is not very diverse, but delicious, they will even add it if you are not full. The rooms are cozy, but not modern. And most importantly - the sea! Nearby, clean and warm - that's why we go to Abkhazia.!

The food, of course, is without frills, but there are no "digestive" problems and it is quite diverse. We had a rest here in early June. I give five stars for an INEXPENSIVE vacation, and this is with three meals a day, even if not a buffet, but we did not stay hungry, a great place and stunning views around! If you do not pay attention to minor flaws, then it is quite a good hotel. Everything is clean and tidy on the territory, there is a cafe, an elevator and a passage to the park and to the beach. We had a renovated comfort room, clean, cold and hot water, good linen and towels. A large balcony with a great view, a table and chairs. The air conditioner was working properly. And common shortcomings, specifically the blackout, the general unsettled beaches, widespread repairs and plus devastation-it's everywhere. Therefore, the choice is like in that advertisement.".. if there is no difference, why pay more" And, by the way, closer to our departure, the workload was getting more and more, and this is the middle of June. So people come here with children to relax, and the places are sorted very well. There is also a tour desk, a very attentive woman in charge of everything, will tell you everything, solve questions. I found a place for an excursion literally 20 minutes before departure. And in the morning, a woman sells amazing cakes near the dining room! We took it, the yummy was incredible and no one was poisoned. So I definitely recommend it, especially for those who want to save money, relax and take a walk around the historical sights of Old Gagra, which are literally within walking distance from Colchis.

We had a rest in early August! We liked it! The room, although renovated, but everything falls off, the bathroom is not good, the cleaning leaves much to be desired! But everything is covered by excellent nature, there is unreal beauty around! Very well located, the hotel is surrounded by greenery! There is a very good cafe on the territory with delicious kebabs and khachapuri! And great people work there! And they sell very cool cakes in the morning at the dining room! Straight! However, the lights are periodically turned off and the elevator does not work! But otherwise everything is fine!

I wanted to visit Colchis from my first visit to Abkhazia. And now, 10 years later, I decided. We had a rest in September 2023: me, my daughter 16l and my son 6l. We ordered a ticket through the Azure Coast of Sochi, because then their contacts were indicated on the website. The place is certainly gorgeous, with its location. The park, the sea, such different aromas - it's impossible to breathe enough. Delicious food, thanks to Zhorik and his team. Female waitresses are like butterflies, fluttering tirelessly, always with a smile and a warm word. We were checked into room 317. Its advantages: 1.Spacious. 2. the view from the balcony is indescribable, especially at sunset (only he smoothed out all the disadvantages). 3. No need to take the elevator. 4. Although the bed linen is old, it is not synthetic. 5. They gave towels for all (2 pcs each). minuses. To be honest, I was shocked when I came in with the kids and a suitcase!! 1. very shabby appearance: wallpaper with streaks on all the walls, some stains and daubs on them. 2. The windows are old, a million worth of paint, a flimsy balcony door, and cobwebs under the windowsill, behind the curtain. 3. Beds, they are 100 years old (my great-grandfather died on such a bed), then they wobble, then some kind of board fell off the headboard. 4. Cabinets - they stink a lot, either with naphthalene or something else. Things were not hung in them (on the door). 5. Sconces - they contain cobwebs, dust and dead insects. 6. The bathroom is something. The stench of sewage, black mold wherever possible: the curtain, the seams, in the corners of the bathtub itself. My daughter is allergic to black mold spores, eczema begins (palms crack into meat), and in general it is very dangerous in itself. The screen under the bathroom is broken, the watering can is broken - it moves in different directions while washing my son, she is all wet. To be honest, at first glance, I wanted to cry: Where did I get to? at the same time, I am not spoiled or pretentious. And the room is considered SUPERIOR. I saw a 2-seater standard from a friend, it is much cleaner and newer than our improved one. And in general, the state of Colchis and its territories is very depressing. How many unrealized opportunities!! We went for a walk to the 2nd building, along the way the trash is overflowing, stink, flies, rats. Do the residents of the 2nd building go to the dining room through this? Bottom line: most of what you like has nothing to do with Colchis itself, it's natural. There is a strong feeling that managers do not want to invest, but pull the latter. Now the site is working, there is hope for changes for the better. Whether we will come again is a MUST. With a more scrupulous number selection. After all, we are not going to sit in the room, but to enjoy the clear sea, the aromas of the park, the sunset, the crackling of cicadas, walking through abandoned places, communicating with sincere people.

We had a family vacation at the end of June. A great place for a quiet relaxing holiday. The superior room is clean, there is a refrigerator, a TV. The view from the balcony is beautiful to the sea and mountains. The dining room is clean, the food is decent, the portions are not small, we had enough. The sea is nearby. The beach is not bad, but you need shoes to go into the water, pebbles. An embankment with cafes and shopping stalls. The colonnade is not far away.I liked the rest, the children have attractions. We sat in room 410 of Increased comfort!!!
The wallpaper is torn off, the room is dirty, bugs (stinkers) on the curtains..They asked why they were not cleaned-there is no vacuum cleaner!!! But the resort fee is 200 rubles. From a person-For what?
The toilet is black inside-there is water on the floor, the toilet is flowing.They started fixing the toilet when we were there!
Accessories include soap and tual..paper
The baseboards in the bathroom are torn off.There are baths, not showers as in the description!
There are handles on the doors from the 50s-latches on the doors!!!
They asked to replace the room-in response, No!!!

Happy time of day, I wanted to share my impressions of the vacation spent in Colchis. We rested with our family twice in the first building in a fully equipped room and in the old second building it is also called Geniralsky since it was built at the beginning of the 20th century. Both buildings are very old and in need of repair. I will write more about the second building since there is almost no information about it. And so it is located about 50 meters from the main building, passing along a narrow road past a garbage dump, this is a 4-storey building, only three floors are rented in it, the first one is not for rent, there are two and three rooms with balconies in the building. We lived on the second floor in room 9. The room area is approximately 40 sq. m., a large entrance hall, a bathroom and two rooms from both you can access the balcony. In the hall there is a sofa, a table, a refrigerator, a sideboard and a small TV, in the bedroom there are two beds, a wardrobe and a dressing table. All the furniture is probably from the time of Stalin. There is air conditioning and a kettle. The building is very beautiful in the circle, century-old cypresses and palm trees grow, there is a courtyard and access to the sea. Very quiet. The sea is visible from the room. I also want to write that cleaning is not done here from the word at all, upon check-in, I washed the room because it smelled unpleasant, I had to work hard not to spoil my vacation. We rested for 10 nights , and a week later and already demanded that at least the towels be changed. Whether you go here or not is up to you, in general we like it there, very convenient location, quiet. There are few people on the beach, and in the evening it is very pleasant to walk along the embankment.

Nature, the location of the boarding house for five plus! And it's very cool! In general, that was what was decisive when choosing a vacation destination. More food and price. Unfortunately, in this price category, the choice in Gags is not so high. The food is normal, a solid three, even with a plus. The dining room is cramped for so many vacationers. Four adults are very cramped at one small table. I was constantly straining with bread. For breakfast, if you make sandwiches, you constantly had to ask for more bread. At the same time, the time for eating is short. It's not even that everything is very modest, it's okay, let it be. As it seemed to me, there is no desire to learn how to organize the service better.

We have been resting for two weeks since June 16. The impression was positive. The rooms, of course, are old, but everything is functioning, water and light are constantly being cleaned daily, bed and towels are changed after 5 days. The dining room is clean, the food is very decent for a complex, quite diverse. The cafe on the territory is not bad, the barbecue and khachapur are excellent! The beach is landscaped with us, sun beds, umbrellas, a locker room. I would like Wi-Fi in the rooms, otherwise only in the lobby, it is not very convenient. Of course, the owners have something to work on, but considering the cost of the vouchers, everything is decent..

An excellent early booking offer (in winter) for the price of 4 people was made to us by a travel agent at the Kolkhida boarding house. We've read a lot of reviews, both good and bad. A decision was made in favor of the boarding house on the following points:

I was very worried, because people would write about Colchis and Abkhazia in general. In advance, I was not afraid of such points as the age of the boarding house and the quality of repairs in the room, since Abkhazia was chosen by me for the soul beyond the clear turquoise sea and incredible mountains, as well as nature in general..in fact: a room with a balcony and air conditioning, an old USSR renovation, but everything is very clean. A set of towels, cleaning was every day, toilet paper, soap. Bathroom - toilet and shower. There is a rope and clothespins on the balcony, a table and two chairs. The balcony is very big. They fixed a table for us in the dining room and we ate at the same table for the whole vacation, everything will be brought, set, no queues, like a buffet. They cook simply, tasty, and satisfying. We were fine with the digestive tract. The territory of the hotel is large and picturesque, cozy. The descent to the sea is either an elevator to the subway, or a staircase through the hotel territory. The time limit is 5 minutes. For me, an air-conditioned room with a balcony is much more important, and even if it is in an old repair, but it is cheaper than if there is a super repair everywhere, which in fact is not needed from the word at all, because in fact there is very little in the room, because you are either on an excursion or at sea. Abkhazia is a country of the soul, and there is something to see there. Thanks to all the staff of this boarding house! I'll come if I have to. I will show you the photos that were taken on the territory of the boarding house. And yet, there are two shops and a bar on the territory, it is very convenient. The beach is clean in this area, the promenade is gorgeous.

We had a rest in June 2023.The room was a superior double room, it still smelled of paint, the view from the balcony was excellent.everything is simple and clean.2nd floor, which then pleased me, because due to the frequent blackout, it was painful to look at the elderly people climbing the stairs to their floors. With the lights out, it's a real problem, we didn't go for a walk a couple of times, because the elevator from the mountain, accordingly, does not work, and you will break your legs in the dark along the thresholds. This information is for the older generation, of whom the majority rest there. The food is budget-friendly, according to the price category of the hotel: salads or cabbage or cucumbers with pomodars, or their variations.the second courses are potatoes with a cutlet, fish, everything is simple. But everything is freshly cooked. It seems to me that it will not be enough for men, but we had enough. The staff is friendly and friendly. The hotel has a massage therapist, a woman, golden hands, because of her alone you can go there again, I highly recommend it.
It's a long way to the infrastructure, you will have to walk to the shops at least 1 km. There is a shop on the territory with the most necessary things, we bought ice cream there, toilet paper (well, we are used to good things)). The beach is equipped, there are sun beds, umbrellas, and a cafe for money. It is sparsely populated, which is a plus, but rocky, relative to the central part of Gagra, which is a minus.Nearby is the Gagripsh restaurant, a wonderful historical place, views from it!delicious cuisine, took the soul away after the canteen. Overall, I liked it. We met people who have been going there for years, I like it.

Personally, we really liked everything. We had a great rest. The room was a PC without repair. The room is clean, 2 beds, refrigerator, air conditioning. 3 towels for each. Soap, toilet paper. Large balcony. The food is comprehensive. Very tasty. There is always fruit for lunch, sometimes wine. The cook and kitchen staff are 5+++. The sea is 8 minutes away, descent by elevator or on foot. The beach is public. We need stones, we need shoes. The water is always hot, the light was not turned off when we were there. It's certainly not 5 stars, but it's very good!!! Thanks for the rest

Beautiful views from the balcony. The beach is 5 minutes away. Meals are like in kindergarten. The best recipes from the USSR canteen. Take an upgraded room. The bar has a beautiful chacha 50p 50g and natural tangerine juice 70p glass, harvested in autumn. WiFi is only in the lobby. I had to buy a local SIM card. It is located near the seaside park in old Gagra. In this place, the park and the embankment have already been improved.

The check-in did not happen. Through the tour operator, they took a 2-bed superior room. We were provided with a 3-bed room with a view of the courtyard. A dark and not cozy room with creaking floors and old furniture. They refused to change to the ordered room. Was it explained by the lack of numbers?! I typed on the tour operator's website- a miracle, there are many available rooms of various types on sale on my check-in date. The tour operator had photos of the booked room - sea view!!!! High floor!!! The administrator advised to book a vacation directly through them and then there will be no problems. It's not pleasant. We found another hotel. More modern and polite hosts. On Colchis, we will put an end to what follows.

We rested in this beautiful place for 3 times. And I want to come back again. The rooms are of course from those times, but clean. And nature and air are the most important attraction! A beautiful promenade - where you can walk and enjoy the real, wild nature. The sea is close- 5 minutes. Take the elevator down, and you're already there, by the sea. The food is good, but not a buffet. The view from the balcony is amazing. Delicious coffee is brewed in a local cafe, delicious trout and shish kebab are cooked. There is a store of necessary goods and products. I recommend it for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

I'll start with the positive aspects: the sea is nearby within walking distance, the nature is beautiful, the room is an ordinary conder, TV, balcony, you can get to the market by minibus. When choosing a vacation, I read reviews that the food is very good, I can say that this is not so - everything is fresh, yes, but everything is the cheapest. They gave porridge for breakfast, it was hot, not salty and not sweet (there was salt and sugar on the table), the rest was cold - it was cheesecakes or pancakes. Bread is not delicious, margarine is not butter, cheese is not delicious and the cheapest sausage. Lunch: salad cucumbers and tomatoes are the cheapest, even cucumber did not smell, the soup is always different more or less delicious and the second portion was large and buckwheat and potatoes with chicken without spices and compote. Dinner is a sufficient portion and salad, an example of overcooked pasta with chicken does not even look like chicken. A bun and herbal tea. There were no goodies at all. For 7 days of rest, there were 2 apples and 3 unripe melons. They were shocked by the food because they had the sun all year round and were fed everything the cheapest. We will definitely not go to this holiday home for the second time. When choosing, read all the reviews well because the food in the dining room is tastier than there.

The hotel is a time machine in the USSR! Have you dreamed of relaxing in the departmental sanatorium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs? Then come here, many people like it. Everything has been preserved in its original form, from rooms to meals. The staff is also from that time. The room has not been cleaned once in 5 days. There was no air conditioning in the room. The doors and windows have been preserved since the construction. The bathroom has been renovated, but this does not correct the overall impression.
The hotel is located near the old Gagra, the place is excellent. There is a river nearby into which locals dump sewage. It is unmistakably determined by the smell. All this charm flows into the sea, onto a beautiful sandy beach. Swim!
Minibuses run nearby all over Abkhazia. The prices are affordable, but depend on the greed of the driver at the moment of +/- 100-50₽ to the usual fare.
There are many cafes nearby, the prices are about the same everywhere, but the quality is different everywhere.

We rested in Colchis in the second half of September with the kids, the youngest was not two years old. We will remember this wonderful place with warmth all winter. Excellent quality food, suitable even for a baby. Repairs can be a little worse than in Stalin's house on the Ritz))) but it didn't bother us in any way. After all, all this is nothing compared to the fabulous nature around the boarding house and the purest sea. We will definitely come again...

We had a vacation with a friend in July 2023. We lived in the second building where only generals used to rest. Of course, it has not been renovated since those times and with the same Soviet furniture, but it is quiet and peaceful here. In the morning, Birds are singing outside the window, huge palm trees and tropical trees of unreal size and the Sun..... It's amazing! We liked to go down to the beach early in the morning on our way down the steps from our building to the beach and swim before breakfast. Then to eat and go back to the sea. The sea is a separate song. We took closed sunbeds on the shore for 1000 rubles. now about food. The hotel fed a lot but not tasty, but we are not pretentious and losing weight is not bad. We went to Gagripsh restaurant several times. He's very close. And this year we are coming to you again!!!!

We went in early June, and this is the best time to visit Abkhazia - then there is a flow of tourists and, according to reviews, including local ones, the quality of everything decreases.
It was my wife's 47th country just for her birthday. And we liked it. A ticket for a week cost 32 rubles, including flights to Sochi and back, accommodation and one meal a day.
The border is translated very easily - we arrived late in the evening, took a taxi to the border for 500 rubles and quietly crossed it on foot - very easy and even funny, after the border we went to have a snack in a cafe and the cafe owner called a taxi driver, he took us to Colchis (not far to go). The room was normal, the food was delicious - like in a good boarding house during the USSR. The staff is benevolent - an example - a bottle of Chegem wine was put in the room for my wife's birthday, which she was just thinking of buying in the city that day, but did not want to carry it - and did not admit who gave the wine - it turned out that the administrator. Downstairs in Colchis there is a good cafe on the street, where we sat late in the evening, quite culturally, delicious ice cream, wine - by the way, we drank quite decent wine everywhere. Descent to the sea by elevator, walk for a few minutes through the green zone - there is an underground passage under the road, behind it there are greenery and an embankment, the beach is pebbly, empty, there is no garbage, there is a wonderful cafe on the beach, where during periods when you had to work remotely. I worked at the computer in the gazebo, ate, drank, went swimming periodically - great. The SIM card was immediately bought locally, the Internet on it was normal everywhere. There is a beautiful long embankment below, a lot of cafes or kiosks where you can just have a drink) A few minutes on foot is the Gagripsh restaurant, a little further is the Prince of Oldenburg Castle, there is a place to walk. Architecturally interesting old buildings on the mountain where no one lives. Everything is green.
We also went on an excursion to Lake Ritsa - I hate excursions, but I liked this one very much - we stopped at many interesting places, started with tasting smoked meat and cheese, then wines of different types from ordinary to 65 degrees, then local bees - they are unusual, do not sting, can touch with hands, waterfalls, etc. For 1200 rubles in total It's worth a trip.

I had a chance to visit DO Colchis in September 2024.The four days spent in this place are remembered with warmth.I booked the room without renovation, so I had no special illusions. We settled in quickly, I had time for lunch.The food is simple, homemade, and delicious.The canteen staff are friendly.I asked for breakfast to replace porridge with another dish.There are three meals a day.My request was fulfilled. Cookies and gingerbread were given for sweet tea.Everything is fresh.For lunch, soup and a second course, meat was present.Fish was also given .The food is hearty.the territory is clean. The room got a corner one, with a large balcony and a beautiful view, quiet, I must say that in this institution, I don't know, maybe it's not always like that, it's very quiet and peaceful.The water is hot all the time and so is the light .The bed linen and towels are clean and fresh.There is a cafe on site. We rested in the Kolkhida boarding house from 06/29/2022 to 07/04/2022 with two families, the complex is old, Soviet times, but there are renovated rooms and air conditioning, quite comfortable, the food is comprehensive, full board is delicious!!! The food is very high-quality at home, thanks to the chefs! The beach is 5-7 minutes away, first by elevator, then a little walk across the street and the embankment, there is no beach of its own, but you can rent a sunbed for the whole day for 200 rubles. The pension has a tour desk with a wide selection of excursions for every taste. There is a kebab shop on the territory, with low prices and delicious lamb and pork kebabs. The balcony of the room offers absolutely stunning views of the bay, beach, mountains, greenery, blue, the eye is happy 24 hours a day. In general, I put a five quite boldly and responsibly! 🤝👍🏻😉☺️

The rooms are rubbish and require serious repairs. I'm not talking about the wallpaper, but even the plumbing is broken and the bathroom floor is constantly wet - they can't even do that
The staff is, to put it mildly, not customer-oriented. They communicate in style - we are the owners here, and you are nobody, even in an abusive form. Now there is a new administrator, the previous one is said to have retired, and the new one does not know how to work with people. Even those who have been here for 5 years said that they will not set foot in this hotel anymore. So forget about the old reviews.
There was an order for a 3-bed PC room, and as a result they gave a 2-bed PC with a connection on the 2nd floor (it is below the entrance of the building), where a dog lives under the balcony and relieves himself (in Russian speaking s **t). Number 205 if anything. With a scandal, on the fourth day, the room was changed to a 3-seater PC. Moreover, the administrator himself admitted that he initially provided the wrong category of room, although at first she said prove it, well, we proved it. Although Biblio-globus (through whom we ordered the trip) was informed that everything was fine. By the way, about the Biblio-globe (neither a guide nor a representative to solve the problem has appeared: in other words, they sold the ticket and then figure it out for yourself). And those who moved into room 205 after us also left there with a scandal. As the administrator said, when booking, you need to specify the floor, area, etc. (biblio-globus probably does not know about this either), and how this is related, I myself did not understand. The site seems to clearly state what a 2-bed room is, and what a 3-bed room is, but really everything is completely different. And even those who did it - they settled in front of us, the answer is: we don't see such a surname. And I repeat, it's with the new administrator that everything was fine there about 2 years ago, yes, most likely everything was fine. The fact that the area around the hotel is used for walking the guard's dogs and for parking staff cars, I am silent here. If you want to prove something, argue or stupidly put up with all this during your legitimate vacation, for which not a little money was paid, then this hotel is for you. As they say, welcome!

Located in a gorgeous location on the mountainside. The beauty around the hotel is indescribable. The territory is well maintained. The views from the balconies are gorgeous. There are shared balconies facing the sea itself. Connoisseurs of magnificent views of the bay from above will be delighted. The journey from the hotel to the beach and back takes five minutes and not only does not tire, but every time it makes you enjoy the beauty. A chic bridge from the hotel ends with an elevator that lowers you to the ground. Then there is an underpass under the road and here it is the beach. The surroundings are magical like in a fairy tale. I've never seen anything like it anywhere.
Rooms:
The rooms have been renovated. Everything you need for a comfortable life is there. The modern TV is working, the refrigerator is working, the air conditioner is working. The beds are new, the linen is ironed new, the plumbing is new, the loggia is large, gorgeous views from the loggias are attached. If you don't have enough scale, go to the shared balcony. There is one on every floor. The beauty there is breathtaking. If you do not have enough height, go to the common balcony of the eighth floor. You can see the whole bay from there. There is parquet on the floor, which gives some solemnity to the whole entourage, as it glitters. Parquet throughout the hotel, parquet in all rooms, except the most recently renovated ones (there are tiles). There is a kettle on every floor. The audience at the hotel is intelligent, calm, many people have been coming here for years. There is a table tennis table on the ground floor under the main staircase. I didn't ask for rackets, my wife and I carry our own. There is a complex of lawn tennis courts right under the hotel on the shore. There are both rentals and rentals. It's cheaper during the day. But it's hard to play during the day if it's hot. W-Fi is available in the lobby. There are a lot of comfortable chairs and sofas there, so it's even fun to sit there. The band is not very wide, so if you are going to drive youtube videos in maximum resolution on your laptop, you will have to wait for the evening when there will be fewer people. And there seems to be enough for all sorts of vacaps.
Food:
The food is real. It is cooked, not bought and chopped. Chef George has not changed for several years and until he does, I am sure that the food will be wonderful. He chooses the team himself, so he is personally responsible for the quality. Unfortunately, you can't immediately buy yourself another meat casserole or another plate of gorgeous Zhori soup (which are always different), since the food is the same for everyone. But you can ask ! It was so delicious several times that I couldn't resist asking for more. I understand that this is wrong, but what can I do - I love to eat delicious food! For those who are not used to going to bed without overeating, there is a cafe on site. Even two cafes. One is near the entrance to the dining room, the other is on the other side of the building in the courtyard of the hotel. I can't say anything about them. I'm not a fan of late-night alcoholic gatherings. I can only say that both are very diverse, beautiful and convenient. My recommendations are ice cream for 30 rubles, a cup with a Sukhumi ladle (the best of all imported chemical fillings), natural salted chips (sliced potatoes on a stick like a garland). There are many other things, you can't remember everything. Try it yourself. I highly recommend trying the homemade cakes that a woman sells in the morning before breakfast. She puts the cakes on the table right at the entrance to the dining room. But if you go to breakfast late, you won't find her anymore, everything will be sorted out.
Staff:
Everyone works as a team. It is clear that they are trying. Attention to your requests is guaranteed. I didn't have to handle it that way, everything was perfect, but they say that someone asked for something and everything was decided. But I do not know who it was. Of those I talked to there, none of them had any questions. Once I stayed on wi-fi in the lobby and saw with my own eyes how a locksmith came to the reception at one o'clock in the morning and asked if it was possible to turn off the hot water for an hour since he needed to replace the pipe. And he was waiting for the opportunity to turn it off for the reason that one of those who were expected never stopped by. I really wanted the hotel so that people from the road could wash themselves in hot water. And so the locksmith waited until one o'clock in the morning when the guests would come and wash themselves. Well, what to do, they told the locksmith, most likely they won't come today, turn it off for an hour, I'll ask the guests to wait until you change the pipe, if they do come. So I have absolute confidence that the staff is doing everything they can. There is no such thing as I was told in another hotel there were no batteries and therefore neither the TV nor the air conditioner worked and it was not possible to get them from the Administrator. The guest was looking for batteries himself. I went to the market the next day and surprised everyone there by asking for batteries. I don't think that would be possible in this hotel.
Beach:
The beach is municipal. Sunbeds and umbrellas for money in the nearest cafe as soon as you go to the beach. A large umbrella of 500 rubles (you can actually take it for 4 people) or a smaller umbrella for 350 rubles. Sun beds for 200 rubles. If you show up on the beach very late in the morning, and the weather will be clearly beachy in the morning, then you will not buy umbrellas or sunbeds from Wegen anymore. Either pay in the evening the next day or buy it off in the morning and only then go to the hotel for breakfast. For if the sun is without clouds, then you will not lie for a long time without an umbrella. And no ointment will save you. You'll burn anyway. Entering the sea - pebbles. If it's very hot, then my advice is to go all the way to the water in the shales. Because the sand and the pebbles are hot as a frying pan. And get out of the water on all fours, because you can slip on the pebbles yourself and the wave can kick you in the ass, although not much, but you will lose your balance. And so he got out - and thank God. The water is warm. This is almost always the case from above. I didn't dive down, I don't know. But it seems colder down there than above, where you swim. The whole set of beach entertainments is included - bananas, jet skis, etc. Overhead, guys with a propeller from behind periodically parachute down from the mountains. Those who bought it are taken to the very top of the mountain and then they are landed here, on the beach.
Results:
If you are not a fan of an overfilled stomach, but a fan of new experiences and a lover of beauty, you definitely need to visit here. The hotel is very atmospheric. The pearl of Soviet resort architecture. The host's hand and attention to the guests are felt in everything. The older woman who will check you in (the Administrator) Zhanna Rozhdenovna is a very attentive and well-mannered person. She will not fawn over you, not so much because she is the main person in the whole structure there and commands everyone, but because she knows her worth and is confident that she has already done everything that could be done for your good rest and will continue to do as much as she can. A very good family runs it and it manifests itself in literally everything.

The Kolkhida Boarding House is a peculiar journey into the Soviet past.
We went there for a week at the end of September 2023 without illusions and claims, so there were no disappointments, and nature compensated for everything with a vengeance.
We lived in a PC room without repair on the 6th floor with a view of the sea and the bridge to the elevator. Furniture from the distant past, but everything you needed was available: two beds with bedside tables, a table, a TV, a built-in wardrobe, two ottomans, air conditioning, a refrigerator. There is a bathtub in the bathroom. There is soap and toilet paper, 3 towels for each. You can dry things on the loggia. There is a kettle on the floor, there is an iron with ironing board, a hairdryer at the reception.
The food for me was monotonous. The portions are large. The waitresses are kind. The reception staff too.
The way to the beach by elevator is 7 minutes. The boarding house does not have its own beach, they used a public one with paid sun beds and umbrellas.
Will we, spoiled by modern comfort and service, come to Colchis again? Perhaps. You should look for such views from the windows and surroundings!

The hotel, which is also a boarding house, is nothing at first glance. We were quickly checked in and fed, although lunch was already over. The main building is more or less renovated, but since there were 5 of us (3 adults, 2 children), we were settled in a 3-room room in the second building. This building has not been touched by the hand of modernity. Externally, the building is very shabby, the doors are old, the windows are old, the furniture is Soviet with a corresponding smell. Three-legged armchairs, sideboards and a piano in the hall. Bathroom-no comments… It is worth noting that there are two air conditioners, a TV with Russian and Abkhazian channels (the broadcast quality is terrible), a refrigerator. The room is spacious, with high ceilings, with two balconies, there are bed linen and three towels per person, they are changed every 5 days, but you need to remind. There was never any cleaning. In general, the remnants of a long-time former luxury. Nothing has changed since the Soviet era, it's very retro.
The dining room is good, the food is delicious and satisfying, they cover themselves, they clean themselves, we only poured drinks. The only thing that is not a very convenient time is breakfast from 9 to 10, lunch from 14 to 15, dinner from 18 to 19 hours. It gets dark here early and abruptly, and it is not advisable to walk here in the dark, the places are quiet and sparsely populated. There is one grocery store, a pharmacy 600 meters away on the square. Fruits are mostly imported, there's not much of their own here.
The road to the sea by elevator, through an underground pedestrian crossing, the description of the hotel indicates 60 meters, but this is if you walk straight through the trees, in fact 150 meters, with children it is a 10-15 minute walk. If the elevator is not working, then add another 7 minutes.
There are a lot of excursions, but we must understand that safety, insurance and responsibility are only on the vacationers themselves, no one here cares about tourists, so we immediately dismissed extreme types such as paragliding and jeeping. We went on a catamaran boat trip (I liked it) and river fishing (no one caught anything, but the food was delicious).
I do not know how it is in the first building, but I do not recommend Colchis 2, only if you are a fan of the Soviet atmosphere, furniture and smell.
The information on their website is not entirely reliable:
there is Internet, but only on the first floor of the main building; the distance to the sea was also greatly underestimated; it is clear why there is no photo of the second building, then no one will go here; I did not even find out about the pool, it is not on the street.
The sea itself in this area is clean, the beaches are not crowded, the beach is sandy and pebbly. The closer to the sea, the larger the pebbles, you can't go without sneakers, but they are sold here at every step for 600 rubles. All beaches are public, but there are a lot of paid umbrellas (500₽/day) and bungalows (1000₽/day). The bars on the beach are very expensive (beer 450 rubles/bottle), but there is better Wi-Fi than in the hotel.
Anyway, for the first time, I'm glad that the vacation is over and we're going home!

We had a vacation in Abkhazia for the first time. We decided to go by car, we wanted to travel. We stayed in Colchis. We didn't regret it, we really liked it, especially the 3 meals a day. Thanks a lot to the chefs and the waiter girls. An excellent boarding house, the staff is friendly, everyone will tell you where to go on excursions... The furniture is old, but these are small things, the main thing is what kind of view from the balcony... Beauty, 5 minutes to the beach. We were very lucky with the weather, it rained 1 time in 2 weeks. The sea is very clean. We will definitely return to Colchis again. * A huge request to the management, to organize animators for children, children have absolutely nothing to do in the evening. Our room was renovated, everything is fine! The room has a TV, refrigerator, air conditioning. Cleaning every day, change of towels if necessary. There is a kettle on each floor. There is an ironing board and an iron on two floors. Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby on the 1st floor. We liked the food, although it was quite simple, without frills, ordinary homemade food. Lots of vegetables and fruits. Very hearty breakfasts.
