We travel by car. We thought we would stop in Batumi, but after reading the reviews about the beaches, we decided to stop in Gonio and did not regret it. By the way, the rivers also flow into the sea on this belt, but the beach is so long that you can choose what you like. (Minus the beach, there are no toilets, showers and other niceties that are used to in Turkey) Batumi is a 10-20-minute drive away, Turkey is 5 km away. Shopping at the time of writing the review is twice or more cheaper in Turkey. The hotel is a guest house, there are many of them here, located in the private sector, the most extreme at the foot of the mountain (but soon there will be only one name left from the private sector, everything is being built up) you wash in the bathroom and look out the window at the forest on the mountain very cool, the balcony offers views of the sea, mountains and construction site, there is nothing to do with it It can't be helped. But no one will look out the window at you from another hotel, as in some hotels. The shower is combined with a toilet, at first it didn't seem very good, but then they even dragged themselves away from such an idea (as it turned out later, it's the way they do it here, because friends even have high-rise buildings in Batumi like this) the photo shows the views from the guest house and a little photo of what you can get to. We went to the cross on foot and then by car. The view of Batumi is simply gorgeous. I will keep silent about the garbage around the sights. There are a lot of dogs, such laws in Georgia. It's not a long walk to the sea and it's convenient in a straight line. A quiet, peaceful place for a family with children. The rooms are large, which is good news. There are no TVs yet, but we don't need them at all, there is a good Internet connection. The parking lot near the hotel accommodates 4 cars and everyone can leave) The price - quality is at the highest level. Someone does not like something, welcome to any other hotel with a different price (of course in a big way). A compliment from the owner is a bottle of excellent red wine. I recommend you to check in. It's a pity that the vacation ends quickly. We went to lunch with the children at the grandmothers' cafe in Gonio (Ukrainian cuisine dumplings, borscht, pancakes, etc. to have dinner in Batumi gemo plus and a couple of restaurants next to it, too, the price and quality are at a good level.
Wonderful host, always prompt, help, explain. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfasts are simple, but delicious and you can always take a supplement.
This is a guest house, hotel services, apparently, are not provided.
The location is for an amateur: quiet, not far from the beach for 10 minutes- you go out to the pedestrian crossing and immediately go along the road to the sea, it seems to be convenient, but there is some kind of abandoned territory around the house, other guest houses are under construction and stray dogs that accompany you all the way.
There is no cleaning at all. From the word at all. We lived for 7 days- never ONCE!!!! There was no cleaning. The sheets are getting dirty. Towels were changed 1 time. They took out the garbage themselves, and begged for garbage bags.
But the tiniest thing is the shower, which is a faucet and a hole in the floor in the middle of the shower room. When you take a shower, you go for a rag and wash the floors, otherwise you need to walk through puddles to the toilet, to the washbasin. So, on vacation, I washed the floors 40 times (bathed 2 times a day: me and my husband). Why would I do that?
The room is large, the bed is connected, the mattress (dependent, sagging springs), there is no table, no chairs, wardrobe, refrigerator (full-fledged, large), no TV.
The balcony is large- the furniture on the balcony: a dryer, a curve, a broken table, chairs, and water from a working air conditioner flows down to the balcony. but!!! I have a rag!!
The guest house provides food: not bad, delicious at home, portions (like a buffet) are very, very limited. But at the same time it is very cheap - only 10 GEL.
We left earlier, due to the rains, we were warned 3 days in advance – the money for the day we left earlier was not returned. For me, the hospitality of the host is not in a fake smile, but in hospitable service, cleanliness and decent financial relations. Guest house- I do not recommend it!
