It's great! I was impressed when you look at what's left, you want to imagine what the Colosseum was like in its heyday and you can't. All around is a pile of bare walls and mounds like after the war.
It impresses with the size and precision of the architecture, which speaks of the great masters of that era.

Perhaps the most impressive attraction of Rome! In this city, they are almost at every turn, but... Nothing compares to the Colosseum! This is an impressive structure that was built without cement and concrete, just think, the Romans built this many centuries ago!!! At the moment, the restoration is in full swing! Part of the arena has already been restored. You can talk about the Colosseum for hours, but it's better to visit it once. This greatness really takes your breath away!
A must-see attraction. The scale and antiquity of the building are admired. Be sure to take a guided tour.
It is necessary to buy tickets in advance via the Internet and arrive as early as possible. The queues are huge, especially during the season.
The place is mandatory to visit. Even if not inside, then just take a walk around the neighborhood. I have been on 2 different walks and will definitely be there upon arrival.
A wonderful place, which even to this day gives off the spirit of the great Roman Empire, the view from it of the city, especially in the evening, is simply fantastic. The only caveat is queues, but it's already typical
Attention! I did not find a warning anywhere on the web, at the checkout, as well as on the turntable, they did not warn. Since some time ago, the rule of visiting the facility has changed. On December 3, 2019, we bought a Col-For-Pal ticket. The stand says "valid for 24 hours". Having trusted the cashier, security, advertising bulletin, we initially entered the forum. We walked for 4 hours with an audio guide, leaving the Colosseum for sweets. Knowing that the colosseum is allowed until 15:30 (it works from the last Sunday in October to the end of December until 16:30), we came to the entrance to the Coliseum by 15:00, where we were not at all a pleasant surprise. It turns out that after buying a ticket at 10:47, we were obliged to enter the Collision before 11:15 what is written on the ticket, BUT NOWHERE ELSE and NONE of the employees of the facilities reported this. CAREFULLY read what is written on your ticket. If there is an inscription like "03/12/2019 - 11:15" opposite the line "1 ingresso colossed il", then this is your deadline! Either you have entered or you pay 16 euros for it.
Personally, my wife and I are very disappointed. And it's not about the money, but about the attitude and organization of the event. In general, the sign and printouts are a public offer, why the conditions in the ticket are different than in the public offer is not clear to me personally.
It was March 8th . The Colosseum impresses with its size even now, in our time. We cannot imagine how such a structure with the ability to even launch water there and arrange naval battles with ships (not to mention the numerous battles between people and animals) could have been built almost 2000 years ago. We were very pleased that during the holiday week tickets were free (to other museums as well, except the Vatican). The queue at the Colosseum was moving fast enough.
You must definitely visit it at least once in your life. It's hard to believe in ancient history.

It is definitely worth seeing this historical place. The queue goes fast, there are a lot of impressions left. The grandeur of the monument is amazing.
The best view of the Colosseum is from the hill behind the tram tracks. I forgot what it's called...there's a beautiful alley and all the photos will turn out gorgeous.
Therefore, if you take the subway to the Colosseum, go around to the left and climb this hill, you will not regret it.
It is interesting as a historical building. But if you don't like crowds of people and molesters who want to sell you something, then you're not here for an excursion or a walk-through. Long queues from morning to evening. And at night, the Colosseum is beautifully illuminated.
In general, beauty, history, and so on are excellent. BUT there are a lot of beggars, tourists and it's a little dirty. I recommend it, but keep an eye on things and take tickets to visit at the box office.
An impressive monument of ancient Roman architecture. Built in the 1st century, it finally fell into disrepair in the 6th. I am not sorry that people, and even animals, have stopped being publicly poisoned at the Colosseum. But at the same time as the Colosseum, Rome itself was falling into decline - the republic, the empire, and civilization.
The dream came true, I was in Rome, I saw the Colosseum. People are no longer being killed in the arena here, they are being killed by the sun and a multi-kilometer queue :)
An impressive building, I recommend you to visit! During the day off, there are huge queues at the entrance. To avoid an hour-long wait and pandemonium (traveling with a child), we purchased a guided tour from a local company at 9:30 a.m. - I recommend it!
An interesting place, of course... It's not as impressive live as in photoshopped pictures from advertisements. Everywhere there are huge crowds of people queuing, the noise and hubbub of ticket dealers who want to sell a ticket five times more expensive but without a queue. Inside, there is a persistent feeling that this structure was removed from somewhere in blocks, dragged here and assembled. Moreover, most of the blocks are cast right on the spot from low-quality concrete. It is clearly visible there that this clay mortar was made with cement and all this is already pouring in many places. You can pick with your finger. There are places where the row of masonry below the blocks is lined with ordinary bricks. Which already raises doubts about the antiquity of the structure. This, in my opinion, is quite a novelty. The forest was dragged 150-200 years ago from somewhere and the outer walls were erected, and the inner structure was assembled from various fragments of blocks, bricks, boulders and foot debris lying everywhere. Moreover, the object was clearly originally created with an eye to tourism.
no one even writes about the ticket - a complex that includes several attractions) this is the Palatine, the Colosseum and something else. Here's how you can buy it near the Palatine. there is nothing to queue for at the Colosseum itself.
There are just a lot of African-American extortionists! be careful and give up everything... and the rest of the impressions are just fire))
It was in March of this year. The Colosseum itself is undoubtedly a majestic historical object. But I was very surprised by the unkemptness of the area around and the littering. Moscow is an order of magnitude higher in this regard.
Stand for half a day. As soon as possible, but they ask for 30 European rubles. The Russian-speaking guide conducted it immediately. The sensations are not unambiguous. The scale of the prehistoric construction is amazing.... Knowing that these builders didn't even have cement (!!!) and normal ropes, the amount of work required to erect SUCH a thing does not fit in the mind.

This is a magnificent grandiose historical building.
Anyone interested in history and architecture should definitely see the Colosseum firsthand! It is better to visit the monument with a guide.
Just don't do it on New Year's holidays and in the heat, otherwise you will curse everything in the world.))
I recommend it!
The scale is impressive for the beginning of our era, the capacity is 50,000 people and was built in 8 years.
Here I immediately remember the Zenit Arena stadium, which was built after 2000 years using the latest equipment
and technologies for 10 years.....
Even with the audio guide, the structure of the building and the purpose of individual zones are not completely clear. The structure is impressive in its beauty and size. Of course, it's worth a visit.
Of the disadvantages, there are a lot of tourists.
Come early, there are queues for km, but if you have the audacity, then you can just stand in front of the Chinese))) The building is of course grandiose
It is impossible to buy official tickets online, there are only reseller companies that let you in on a group ticket for double the price. We were surprised by such a mess when visiting one of the main attractions.
If you take a joint ticket with the Roman Forum, the time to visit the Colosseum will be limited to about an hour, but the ticket will be cheaper.
The entrance to the Stole from the Roman Forum is free - you should not pay extra for it separately.
