Shymkent is a magnificent ski resort in Almaty, offering a variety of trails for skiers and snowboarders of all levels of training. The resort has modern ski lifts and excellent infrastructure.
Positive:
- A wide selection of trails for different levels.
- Modern and comfortable lifts.
- Magnificent views of the mountains.
- A variety of activities, including sledding and hiking.
- Excellent restaurants and cafes.
- Easy accessibility thanks to the funicular from Medeo.
Minuses:
- There can be a lot of people in peak season.
- Prices may be above average.
In general, Shymkent is an ideal place for active recreation and enjoying nature at any time of the year.
One of the most popular mountain places. The nature is very beautiful, mountains, trees, Christmas trees, clean air, city view, view of the Three Brothers Cliffs,Kumbel peak, etc.
How can you come, If you are by car and do not want to spend a lot of effort, then I suggest you go up through the Cossack. You can get to Kazachka by passing the eco-post in Dulati Avenue.after passing the eco-post, immediately turn left, then take the main road to the barrier. After dismounting, we climb to the KJ, the route is almost boring, but not heavy, there are many benches along the way.
A great place to hike, the route is suitable for beginners, relatively clean, there are covered gazebos, but they are really not the cleanest, but I think it's not the fault of those who built them.
A great clearing, overlooking the city of Almaty, and if you stay overnight in a tent, then a super sunset and dawn are provided for you, and the view of the city at night is bombastic!!!
A very good, comfortable and popular tourist route for guests and locals. And so let's start in order
+ We made a path, but no steps
+ Put up pointers
+ Made gazebos
+ Made a swing
+Made benches
Now
there are too few pointers and information sheets, they are not informative enough.
- 5 gazebos, BI group is ashamed of you! Gazebos need at least 30-40
- one swing is a shame!
- there are very few benches!!!
- there are no garbage collectors, because there is a check-in on this plateau from the side of Kazachka, because it is already possible to make garbage containers here, tourists have to drag garbage down!!! And already those who do not shine with reason throw off the garbage at the nearest Christmas Trees.
The result, alas, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism again did not have the intelligence and honesty to do everything wisely so that everyone would be comfortable!!! I'm sure even in this seemingly ordinary business a lot of money was misused
A great place for a walk in the mountains. The path from the Enlightener is noticeable - you won't get lost, there are a lot of people on weekends. Many have tents - there is a lot of room for overnight stays upstairs, there is a waterfall and a spring.
All descriptions indicate that the trail is easy (even children and pensioners walk), but I barely climbed with my sedentary lifestyle, I thought I would die along the way. So if you don't go to the mountains often, it's a very good option to overcome yourself.
It is a wonderful place to relax. If you also take a tent with you for the night, it's cool!!! I recommend everyone to visit here! Beauty cannot be described in words...!
An interesting trail to the plateau. In itself, this place is the first camp for recreation and radial exits to the peaks and long-distance routes.
Positive:
- beautiful views
- communication with interesting people (crowded is also a minus)
- proximity to the city
Minuses:
- it's very crowded! Coincidentally, we were on the weekend, just crowds of people
- there is trash on the trail, people, please take the trash with you!
- the heat is very difficult in the heat, the water on the trail is only at the very beginning and then there is a waterfall at the top.
We mastered it with children of 8 and 5 years old
We climbed to the highest altitude. There's a swing for a photo shoot. It's hard to walk about 6 km. It's bad that it's not illuminated. Once, the family wanted to stay in a tent for the night. But then they changed their minds because it started to rain and wind heavily and I was afraid that suddenly it was not safe in the tent and they began to descend. Slippery grass, dark, hummocks. It's hard with small children. As it is, nothing special. Just for your health, you can go.
A very pleasant and beautiful place near the city, but lately those who come here have become dahera over Dahera and therefore the vibe that was 4-5 years ago is not the same, but still the nature of the Trans-Ili Alataua is amazing
Once there was a very beautiful and peaceful place with its own atmosphere. Until crowds of students poured onto the plateau with the only desire - to arrange drunken parties with a disco. They trampled all the grass, made a wish with garbage all around. Unfortunately, now this place is not as attractive as it used to be.
I love this height. Of course, the climb is hellish at the beginning with a jump in the pulse to 180, but at the end you will just have an incredible view.
IN GENERAL, THEY HAVE ALREADY BECOME ARROGANT, THERE ARE BARRIERS EVERYWHERE, YOU NEED TO PAY EVERYWHERE, THIS IS A PUBLIC AREA, OR SHOULD I SAY STATE-OWNED
The place is amazing, the views are just magical. But the route is quite difficult, both for us and for our 7-year-old son. The route starts with fairly steep steps, the length of the route is 5 km in one direction. There are places to relax along the way. For those who like hiking, that's what you need. We started from the prosvyashenits sanatorium, which can be reached from the city by taxi.
The beauty is divine. It is a pity that they do not prohibit entry here on motorcycles. It is necessary to ban all motor vehicles in such a beautiful place.

A great place for an easy walking route for the average citizen. Views, waterfall and trails with signs - top
I advise everyone who goes to Almaty to relax and get to know this region to visit, you will be delighted. One of the favorite places, the children really like it.
It's very beautiful when you climb up the steps of Moses, It's not easy! But it's worth it, to overcome the 600-meter climb!!! A very beautiful waterfall, it refreshes perfectly 👍 Nature, air!!!
A popular place for a day trip or camping in the mountains. The most optimal route is to enter from the Medeo side, climb to the plateau, and then descend into the Kazachka gorge. The ascent is simple, the climb is small, the plateau itself is somewhere at the level of 1750m, no special preparation is needed. The place is beautiful, during the ascent (if you go from the Medeo side) there are beautiful views of Almaty and the peaks. If you are not a climber, but you want to go to the mountains - feel free to come here, you will like it.
A great route for a beginner with stunning views. Be sure to walk to the waterfall. A new breath will open) And the road back or further up will be more pleasant. There are places to relax)
A very beautiful place to relax and get away from the city noise. Clean air . Beautiful view. And the climb is not difficult , even children will be able to 👍💯
One of the few places where the "weeds" of the palaces of agashek and tokalok have not grown... Where you can and should walk and enjoy the Silence and the Air. Where the mind is resting and you just want to go...
Those who like to travel along mountain trails, I advise you to take the route from the Ak-Bulak stand and up the asphalt first, then by trails. There are signs everywhere. The view is wonderful, you will pass both a birch grove and a miller.
It's a very beautiful place, but we won't go there anymore))). It will be very difficult for someone who is not prepared for such an ascent to crawl to the top. It's enough to walk half the way to spit out your feet the next day)))
It's a tough climb for a beginner. We almost died climbing that ladder up the mountain. It takes everyone 1 hour and 40 minutes, and we climbed in 3 hours. Nightmare. But it's beautiful)
Hello everyone It's something with something! For the first time in 42 years, I have risen! A must-visit! I advise everyone!!!

One of the most beautiful places in Almaty. You can climb from the Medeo (Ak-Bulak point) in 1.5 hours at an average pace. Along the way, you will have a wonderful view of the mountains and the city. And after climbing to the plateau, it will be difficult to look away. Next, go down the slope from the side of the Remizovka. The descent time is 1 hour.
It is a very popular and accessible place for the unprepared for long hikes. There are places for tents. There are water sources. The route is marked with signs.
To get there in winter, be sure to take either cats or sticks with you, or better all at once. It is not difficult to climb, but it can be dangerous to descend because of the sharp slope.
