We didn't like this place and I can't recommend it for the reasons detailed below.
It's worth starting with the fact that you are greeted by a completely squalid dilapidated five-story building next door, the view of which you will have to admire the whole vacation. Of course, these are small things, but you also pay for a good mood, which does not spoil the environment (especially if it can be avoided in other places). Next to the five–storey building there is a shabby rusty gate - this is the beginning of a difficult path to your room. After the gate, you will find a narrow corridor between the walls of two houses, which ends with an overgrown passage to the foot of a long steep staircase. The thickets will climb up your face if you are taller, and cling to the swimming circles and umbrellas in your hands. Near this passage, close to it, there are slums – one or two huts in the best traditions of the novel Shantaram (who has read it, he will understand), in which it is unclear who lives and what they do. The place is completely unlit, in the evening, returning from the beach, you find yourself in almost complete darkness on the way to the stairs – you can not let children and young girls go alone there, as well as walk after sunset in general.
The stairs to the guest house are steep, with high steps. It is not illuminated. Rebar sticks out of the steps – in no case should you walk without shoes and with thin soles on sandals – you can pierce your leg and get tetanus. The fittings, by the way, stick out not only in the stairs, but in many places on the small territory of the guest house. A huge number of plants grow on the stairs, no one cuts them, the shoots go down below the head, climb into the eyes. It is dangerous to walk after sunset – you can fall, get a stalk in your eye, pierce your leg with a rebar. Among other things, you will have to climb approximately 4-5 floors every day and descend several times a day. If you have problems with excess weight, heart, knees, if you generally do not have normal physical fitness – this guest house is not for you, rest can turn into serious health problems.
Going up the stairs, you get to a rather narrow area in front of the facade of the guest house. The rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors, with entrances from stairs along the side facades. Near the site on the right hand (if you look at the facade) there is a gazebo where, having agreed with the owners (if their friends do not constantly occupy it), you can use it for evening gatherings. The kitchen is located on the 3rd floor along the right facade. On the same level there is an open dilapidated earthen terrace. It looks beautiful in the photos, in fact it is not equipped, there is no light, you can't sit there with wine in the evening.
Using the kitchen is another attraction. If you have a room on the 3rd floor from the left facade, then to the kitchen, which is located on the 3rd floor of the right facade, you must first go down 3 floors to the common area in front of the facade, go around the facade, and then go up 3 floors. There is no passage along the top (along the rear facade) – everything is littered with dirt, earth, and rotten branches. The owners say that the mudslide has passed, but, in my opinion, they just don't care how their guests will go to the kitchen, they obviously don't plan to clean it all.
The kitchen deserves a separate description – dirty, without ventilation and light (that is, there is no lighting at all), littered with dirty dishes, the abode of local insects. The owners do not clean the kitchen, they do not care (as in principle for the entire service). We planned to cook, but after looking in once, we abandoned this idea. Fortunately, there are a lot of places around where you can eat inexpensively. Well, in general, depending on the location of your room (if it is not next to the kitchen), you can either pump up your legs or undermine your health – depending on your physical shape.
The rooms are decent, each room has a balcony with sea views. The view is beautiful, but do not look to the right – you will find a beautiful example of devastation in the form of a murdered Khrushchev (who greets you every day from the sea). And this Khrushchev will spoil the whole impression at once. I pay special attention – there is no service. Generally. None. The rooms are not cleaned, no one will wash the linen – everything is done by themselves. We had to clean the drain in the shower and remove hair and dirt from the previous tenants ourselves – otherwise there was a puddle in the shower for a long time, the water did not go away. You will have to wash your clothes in the laundry room. To do this, you need to overcome a dim, dirty workshop littered with rusty junk. The laundry room is about the same as the kitchen, only without dirty plates and with dim lights.
A great example of the service is the room where our children slept (and we rented two rooms), they even forgot to give out blankets. The children slept under a sheet and did not complain, they thought it was right.
In general, it is worth paying attention to the attitude of the owners to the tenants. It means that you paid the money and say thank you for getting the number, otherwise no one owes you anything. It was very revealing when, by prior arrangement with the owners, they occupied a common gazebo to play board games. During the game, two girlfriends of the hostess came and started smoking almost in the face of four children. This is considered normal, since the guests are nobody here.
Having received this whole unforgettable experience, we traveled around the village of Ldzaa to find out if such an attitude and service are everywhere. No, it turns out there are a lot of much more interesting and friendly places – hotels, guest houses, houses for rent for about the same money and even on the first line.
In general, do you want to break your legs and sweat on a narrow steep staircase? Do you want to cook in a dirty kitchen and wash in a dirty semi-dark laundry room? Do you want your children to be smoked in the face? Do you want to clean the sewers for the previous guests with your own hands? Then the Kiwi house is for you. For everyone else, there are plenty of other much more pleasant places, including right on the shore. And it will be for the same money.
