The Silver Pavilion (Ginkaku-ji) is located in the eastern part of Kyoto. Not very far from the more famous Golden Pavilion.
Both pavilions are included in the list of especially valuable historical sites in Japan.
Silver is a pavilion in name only. There's no silver on it.
There was not enough money for this when it was built.
But the name somehow stuck and still lives.
According to the Japanese, the Silver Pavilion is beautiful because it has elegant shapes and a modest, not flashy appearance.
And this corresponds to the Japanese wisdom - "beauty in simplicity."
Photos and selfies against the background of the Silver Pavilion, a classic of Japanese beauty, will be a pleasant memory.
