The place is interesting for those who have never seen the abandoned buildings of this period in Abkhazia. But there are many similar and more colorful places in Abkhazia. I advise you to visit only during daylight hours and, together with a visit to the public beach of the Musser Nature Reserve., or renting a glamping nearby.
Among the advantages: the visit is free. There is a beach, a resto bar, horseback riding, sap rental, shops with excellent local wine, tea, sauces, jam, churchkhela nearby (10 minutes by car).
Among the disadvantages: the dangerous road to the temple from the Sukhumi highway (about 17 km), in places completely destroyed. It is better to get there during daylight hours. The lack of free public toilets. There is a civil paid toilet near the beach for 150 rubles. A typical problem for Abkhazia is that no one monitors such places and does not ensure the preservation of cultural heritage.
the road to the temple is quite difficult, as you first climb up the mountain, and then go down to the sea. the area itself is gentrified, there are many campgrounds and hotels where you can stay.
the entrance to the temple itself is rather dull, and there is practically nothing left inside. as such, there is no parking there, just a stop near the establishments.
One of the familiar places in Abkhazia. The antiquity of the temple is felt in every temple.
There is a cool beach nearby.
A recommendation for those who like "non-tourist" tourism.
It's a great place to meditate. The feeling of the Middle Ages does not leave you. It's very atmospheric inside. And the beach itself is very picturesque. I definitely recommend it.
A strong place where there is a pleasure. Thank you very much to the guys who look after and take care of this landmark. May God grant you strength, health, patience and well-being (Pasha, Denis)
A place with a special atmosphere.
It impresses with the architecture that has survived to the present day.
Icons, candles, notes and decorations from worshippers and supplicants are fascinating.
Now there is a chain-link fence around the temple, icons were brought inside, a village of small cottages and vegan cafes are around. About 20 years ago, the temple appeared in front of a traveler walking by the edge of the sea, suddenly, it was abandoned, but impressive.
I was lucky enough to visit such an unusual place as this church. Ambara Church is a destroyed Christian temple VIII in the Gudauta district of Abkhazia. The feeling that comes as soon as you cross the threshold cannot be expressed in words. Truly, this is a place of power. It feels like a lot of time has been spent in prayer here. Perhaps this is the main value of this heritage, in addition to beauty, although destroyed, but preserving the wisdom of centuries. Visiting the Barn is definitely not a waste of time.
A very atmospheric place , it takes your breath away 😍goosebumps , I 've never been to such a place 🙈 there is Parking , the sea is nearby . take food , there are little kittens living there
It's a beautiful place. There are a lot of people living in campgrounds around. Horses and cows are walking nearby. You can buy fruits, wine, cheese from the locals, but the prices are a little too high. We walked with Mussera along the beach and the water. The journey took 30-40 minutes. I do not advise with children, large stones, waist-deep in water you will have to walk for 20 minutes with things on your shoulders, cut your feet on stones, it is better to wear aquashouses. They asked the locals to take them back by car, for a fee.
An amazing place! I was there in April 2021, everything is green, a swing is suspended from a tree near the sea shore, just a fairy tale! There are icons and candles in the Church. There are benches on the shore and near the Temple, you can relax. Someone from the locals said that they want to organize a camping nearby (or they are already organizing it in the summer). How to get there? I walked from Gorbachev's dacha, if memory serves, 7 kilometers in one direction, of course it's a long way on foot, but surprisingly I didn't feel tired, I overcame the path quite easily along an asphalt road, enjoying the beauty of mountains, forests, small rivers and semi-abandoned villages. The majority of people come there by car. This place definitely fills with power)
We rested in 2021 at Mikhail's, we were in the temple every day, the weather sometimes changed during the week, we visited the temple every day, rested both body and soul, near the beach, yes cows, yes a wild beach, but for those who love it, Paradise, air, for kids a buzz, who has a car under the bootyYou can also go for a ride, I dream of coming back again!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️
Wonderful-a magical place! You can get to the temple by car even with a low landing.
The views are fascinating, the beach is clean.
If desired, you can go to the temple and put candles.
The amazing energy of this place captivated. A very beautiful and picturesque place❤️
There is Parking and there is a place to eat👌🏼
If you're not far away, stop by. The road from the highway will take 30 minutes along the serpentine.
According to the information I have, a few years ago, not many locals knew about this place. The Barn Temple of the mid-8th century left a twofold feeling. A very beautiful place with a strong aura and at the same time sadness from the ongoing destruction of the temple.
It's a great place. We have been coming here since 2019. The locals began to refine the territory, and in 2.5 years it became even more atmospheric. I really like watching the sunset here. Now there is a camping site with tents, cafes, car camping, and sap rental. There are a lot of people, because the place is popular. Still, for peace and quiet (if the absence of the sea is not essential), you can go to the Sukhumi campsite, next to the Besletskaya hydroelectric power station. Parking and toilet are paid. The road from the post takes about 30 minutes. Thanks for making the bridge, it used to be a bit rough to drive on it.
The ancient temple is in almost a state of ruins. But it has a lot of religious attributes brought by believers. The territory is well maintained. They will ask you for money for parking, but they will not provide you with a receipt or documents for collection. That he would not quarrel with the locals. There is a hotel and a camping place nearby. There is a beach nearby
An incredible place - it charges like a battery. The ancients knew where to build: a location where you don't feel hunger and alcohol thirst at all)) almost all the available booze, packed for camping, was brought back… It would be fine if I was alone, because of conversations with neighbors - everything is like a carbon copy!)) I'll go again. In extreme cases, I will walk). The sea is a buzz without kamentov (Abkhazia, zhe, hryuli). By the way, the temple is practically operating on a voluntary basis.
An interesting place, an exciting road through the mountains, untouched nature, take a walk for the soul, breathe in the purest air, forget for a moment. Time seems to stop there.
An interesting and mysterious place, there were absolutely odi here, mostly utt all come to the sea.A very mysterious temple. Well, the coast of ojdlm is of course good
A hidden fantastic place. A lagoon of silence. I would have lived there for a couple of weeks. It would be nice to have small taxi boats there and sail along the coast, swimming into such lagoons for breakfast in one, for lunch in another, after lunch sleep in a hammock. I agree to an experimental October tour!
It's a pretty interesting place. Although it's a long way to go and the road turns into gravel in places. This is not a temple, but a church. Only the walls and ruins remain of the old days. There are many Orthodox icons inside. The locals charge 200 rubles for parking, but they are quite friendly. The sea in this place is good and clean. Definitely worth a trip here.
The place is cool.upon arrival here by car, you need to pay 100 or 200 rubles for parking (I don't remember exactly ) just like everywhere else in Abkhazia . 2 dogs will run up to you and ask for something delicious, don't forget to treat them. There are people walking on the temple grounds, but not all of them are friendly, here are dogs to help you. To the sea 1 min walk. I advise everyone to go here and most importantly do not litter there… Have a pleasant experience for everyone 😃😃😃
The basilica was built in the 8th century AD even before the adoption of Christianity in Russia. It is stunningly beautiful, and when you read prayers, as if you ascend to God with them, the acoustics have been preserved and it is better than in wooden new Churches. It is a pity that the Abkhazians are not restoring the Temple
The place is simply amazing. To get here is to drive through the most beautiful places of Abkhazia. There is a Barn temple on the site, well preserved. Nearby there is a camping place, a large swing overlooking the sea, the gold coast. Here the locals live in a small house and guard the territory, sell delicious honey from the mountains (I advise). The beach is gorgeous, not to mention that it is the most turquoise in all of Abkhazia. It is worth visiting for sure, spending the night is unforgettable. By the way, you can find sunken stone ancient walls of Colchis under the water!!!
A wonderful secluded place with its own unique atmosphere.
It is better to enter and exit from the Musser Nature Reserve. There is an old rotten bridge on the side of Kiraz Street, it is very uncomfortable to drive on it.

The main sights of Abkhazia, the event poster, meeting interesting people, excursions and much more.
I looked at the ruins. There are several tent camps nearby, and adults are resting. The sea, a small, secluded bay with a pebble beach. There are no people, at least swim naked. The place is picturesque, the serpentine to it is small with very beautiful views of the mountains covered with greenery. The air is cool and fresh. A heavenly place:)
It is a very picturesque place. It's a long way to go, but in principle it's worth it. Nearby are camping spots for avid tourists. There are rooms, but they are primitive. And expensive, it seems to me.
A great place, quiet, not crowded, the sea is clean. Camping is paid, as of August 2022 the cost was 400 rubles per person. There is a toilet with floor toilets, an outdoor shower, water, electricity and wi-fi, although it has never worked clearly in three weeks.
It's a very interesting place. An abandoned temple combined with an almost devout nature. The adr is quite normal. Asphalt. On the Sukhumi highway, turn after the checkpoint of the Gudauta river on orietir about 10 km from the turn to the Ritsa
