Just visit this memorial to understand how many Samarqandans gave their lives in the Second World War. The monument itself is very beautiful, sad and completely different from the generally accepted ones.

A nice square surrounded by shady trees, you can sit on a bench and enjoy the birdsong, despite the proximity of the road. And also to pay tribute to the memory of the fallen heroes, whose names are listed in alphabetical order in huge books.
