One of the historical sights of the city of Brest. Those who came to visit the Hero Fortress memorial complex, I recommend that you definitely visit this place. There is a special atmosphere here. You will listen to the silence, look at the ruins of the surviving walls and try to imagine what happened here once
"Barracks for 12 casemates of the First front" became the last place of our study of the Brest fortress. Despite the abandoned condition of the building, it immerses in the atmosphere of the war years. Old brickwork and traces of rebuilding are visible here, which helps to feel the horrors of that time. Unfortunately, the building is used to train artistic abilities, which is disappointing and spoils the historical atmosphere.
It's a very beautiful place inside, the atmosphere is pleasant, but you have to climb through the bars, and you can go out to the river, I advise you to go inside
The place is abandoned. Few tourists visit this place. But if you have prepared before the trip and watched the videos, then it will be interesting for you to walk with a flashlight. You can get into the past
The barracks in which the legendary Colonel Gavrilov was captured.
The barracks consisted of 12 residential casemates, 2 latrines at the ends of the barracks, with four casemated corridors adjacent to them, 2 spiral cast-iron stairs with hatches for access to the valhang and was designed for 276 people. It is actually intended for the defenders of the 1st front, (i.e. the bastion with a curtain). Thanks to this barracks, the defenders of the fortification received safe movement in the immediate vicinity of their positions. Using two spiral staircases from the barracks, you can quickly climb the shaft in the event of an enemy attack and also quickly descend into the casemates at the time of artillery firing.
In the central part of the curtain, under the shaft, there was a sortie connecting the inner space of the fortification with a one-story caponier located in the moat of the curtain. A cast-iron pipe is laid along the axis of the column, designed to drain drainage water from the fortification into the curtain ditch
As the modern youth will say, it is abandoned. But it's an interesting throwback. After visiting the native building of the fortress, you can understand how everything was arranged here. It is important to look carefully at your feet so that you do not stumble into anything and do not fall through anywhere.
The barracks is probably under restoration. Or maybe not, because it is not fenced. I did not approach, I was afraid of stones falling on my head (so many years have passed, and there was no repair) in several places you can get there, but why?
Yes, the place is abandoned, you will have to make your way through the thickets, but it's worth it. We saw a room where a flamethrower was used in the Second World War, a brick turned into glass... You realize the horrors of that time. Inscriptions of soldiers who served there, dating back to the 19th century.. Yu
I've been in them, I wonder how fights used to take place in them. But why put up your own autogrophs after the war years, I don't understand.I myself have sat a lot and seen a lot of anger, both from the authorities and from others. But I respect veterans, and I won't shit where they suffered.
Cool, impressions and emotions are everywhere to look, the fortress where the soldiers lived who stood to the death for our homeland, and thus we defeated fascism, and once again it will not pass, who doubts, I recommend going through the places of glory, and the cities of heroes!
