A wonderful place, with one of the best panoramas of Mount Ararat and the city of Yerevan. It is very difficult to climb, you can always make a stop between the cascades and enter the museum areas, rooms under the cascading stairs. A couple of cascades have not been completed, but this does not prevent you from climbing to the very top.

A beautiful building with five floors. On each floor, the drawings on the lawns and their individual architectural features are cut differently. There is also an escalator that runs from 8 to 20 and you can climb the Cascade through it. The view from the Cascade is beautiful, the city and other attractions are visible. At night, this view is even more beautiful and atmospheric. I advise absolutely everyone to visit this place. It's worth it.

A good view of the city from above - advice: it's better to go down than up)) Beautifully decorated with greenery. Clear. There is a fountain and a recreation area on each level. Inside there is a museum of modern art and escalators. It is convenient that you can go outside and cool down in an air-conditioned room + do not go up / down on foot)) There is also an exhibition of various modern sculptures downstairs.

Every time I arrive in Yerevan, one of the first places that I definitely visit is the Cascade. This amazing place has become a real find for me and a symbol of the city.
The cascade is not just a staircase, it is a real architectural ensemble that impresses with its beauty and scale. On the way up, there are breathtaking views of Yerevan and the majestic Mount Ararat. Every time I climb the steps, I admire again how this project harmoniously fits into the urban landscape.

An amazing place that conquers with its splendor. On the side there is an entrance to the inner halls with exhibits of modern art. By the way, you can also take escalators to the very top there. There are many cafes at the bottom of the Cascade where you can eat delicious food. I recommend.

In general, Yerevan is my love! The cascade, the park, but most importantly the people = the residents make this city cozy, kind, and like it is - give me a hug. Yerevan evokes such feelings. Of course, car traffic is fierce and smoking in public places is so-so)). And it's unpleasant when they sometimes try to cheat you in the market. But it's probably more of a calorific than a disadvantage.

Cascade is one of the wonderful places in Yerevan. There are very nice cafes at the foot. They're all good, I checked. You can walk up, but I took the escalator. Next to him in the lifting gallery are magnificent designer statues and various art objects. You drive and admire. And above there are wonderful playgrounds with flowers and fountains. But the main thing is the view of Ararat! It is beautiful at any time of the day. There you can feel the strongest energy of this holy mountain and Yerevan, which is located below.

Believe me, this mistake should be corrected on your next visit to Yerevan
And yes, escalators work there, even the fat ones will be able to climb to the top.
This is an amazing place:
First of all it's beautiful
Secondly, it is a museum of modern art, though in Armenian
Thirdly, it is an architectural and historical mystery.
Judging by the publications on the Internet, some of the information about the project has been lost or destroyed.
This is a very large-scale construction in terms of materials and equipment costs - it's like building a 110 m deep metro station. Soviet escalators are still operating there in huge numbers. But there are no photos of this place available at the time of completion of construction and operation of the equipment. There is nothing in the museum itself inside the building, only a general photo of the view from the street.
Wikipedia has links to a certain sponsor who allowed the object to be launched at the current time. But the base there is Soviet, which has survived to the present time. maybe Armenia is ashamed of something or just forgot.
At the base of the cascade and in the interior there is a museum quite nice but not too well maintained like the surroundings. Yerevan is truly a city of contrasts.

The "North Cascade" was designed back in the 1924 master plan, designed by architect Alexander Tamanyan. According to this project, a system of stepped passages, waterfalls and flower beds was to pass through the slopes of the Kanaker Hills. The cascade was supposed to connect the central and northern parts of the city[1].
In the 1960s, a suitable one was formed at the foot of the cascade.
An observation deck was also made there.
The design of the cascade itself was developed in the early 1970s by architects J. Torosyan, S. Gurzadyan, A. Mkhitaryan. According to their plans, an esplanade with a continuous cascade of stairs was to be laid from Tamanyan Street at the foot of the hill to the obelisk and the observation deck.
Five terrace intervals were designed on the cascade, representing open-air museums, to which escalators lead.
Flower beds, fountains and pools were supposed to be arranged on the terraces, they were supposed to have a view of Yerevan and Mount Ararat
The construction of the cascade began in 1980, and a huge amount of resources from the USSR budget was spent just on the eve of perestroika.

On November 17, 2009, the art museum — the Gafeschyan Art Center was opened in the Cascade. In 2011, the Aznavour Center opened near the upper tier of the Cascade

I went out on the cascade with my family, just walking around Yerevan, along the Northern Avenue. Absolutely the whole cascade was full of people who listened to different performers. The songs of Charles Aznavour, the great French chansonnier with Armenian roots, were performed on stage. The concert was dedicated to the memory of Aznavour's birthday. The cascade itself is a picturesque and colorful place, but that evening everyone was fascinated by the works of the Great Charles, whose fate is as full of vital censuses and fateful events as the fate of his historical and one of the oldest countries -Armenia. Visit, the place will not leave you indifferent, and it does not look like anything else. Take a walk, look at the sculptures in the park, and look inside the museum under the Cascade. (only quietly, few tourists realize about it). Nothing special, Soviet architecture, but when else, if not now?!))

A great place to walk and just relax! The museum is under the covered sky! There are a lot of cafes around for every taste. It's great to spend time here both in the afternoon and in the evening. The cascade in Yerevan is one of the famous attractions. It is convenient to visit it moving from top to bottom, but you can also do the opposite. Athletic people cross it on foot, but you can also take the escalator. The height from the foot is 302m, and the number of steps is 572. On each of the five available steps of the cascade there are convenient platforms with benches and a fountain dedicated to its theme. This place looks like an open-air museum, with works of modern art on display. I would like to see the cascade fully completed in the future. And as it is written in Luke 14:28: "Suppose one of you decides to build a tower. Won't he first sit down and calculate the costs to see if he has enough funds to finish it?" I hope that someday this will happen and the cascade will become a full-fledged attraction of Yerevan, attracting residents and tourists.

Climbing to the top of the Cascade is a matter of honor for a tourist. The view of the city from the top landing deserves the effort made while climbing the stairs.
