A wonderful place, with one of the best panoramas of Mount Ararat and the city of Yerevan. It is very difficult to climb, you can always make a stop between the cascades and enter the museum areas, rooms under the cascading stairs. A couple of cascades have not been completed, but this does not prevent you from climbing to the very top.
A beautiful building with five floors. On each floor, the drawings on the lawns and their individual architectural features are cut differently. There is also an escalator that runs from 8 to 20 and you can climb the Cascade through it. The view from the Cascade is beautiful, the city and other attractions are visible. At night, this view is even more beautiful and atmospheric. I advise absolutely everyone to visit this place. It's worth it.
A good view of the city from above - advice: it's better to go down than up)) Beautifully decorated with greenery. Clear. There is a fountain and a recreation area on each level. Inside there is a museum of modern art and escalators. It is convenient that you can go outside and cool down in an air-conditioned room + do not go up / down on foot)) There is also an exhibition of various modern sculptures downstairs.
A great place for walking and notable for Yerevan. Really grandiose. There is an escalator you can go up like this. A lot of tourists love this place, and the locals also like to spend time there. There are cafes nearby
Every time I arrive in Yerevan, one of the first places that I definitely visit is the Cascade. This amazing place has become a real find for me and a symbol of the city.
The cascade is not just a staircase, it is a real architectural ensemble that impresses with its beauty and scale. On the way up, there are breathtaking views of Yerevan and the majestic Mount Ararat. Every time I climb the steps, I admire again how this project harmoniously fits into the urban landscape.
The cascade is filled with fountains, sculptures and green spaces, creating an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility. Here you can not only enjoy the beauty of nature, but also see many art installations that make this place even more attractive.
I hope that the Cascade will be fully completed soon. Its completion will add even more significance to this wonderful place and open up new horizons for visitors.
In general, the Cascade is a must—visit place for everyone who comes to Yerevan. I always leave there with a feeling of inspiration and joy. I recommend it to anyone who wants to plunge into the atmosphere of this beautiful city!
Be sure to visit, preferably in the work of fountains. A beautiful panorama of the city and above, the way further to the park to the Mother Armenia monument and the Ferris wheel.
Excalators are open in the gallery, inside the complex, until 20.00, you can quickly get upstairs if you are too lazy to go and count the steps)
I recommend
It's a pity that I had little time.... an amazing place, the city is in the palm of my hand ... with each step there is a new angle, a magical picture in a pink haze…Ararat is like the top of everything beautiful ... Fountains, flower beds, sculptures, installations ... and so everything is intertwined harmoniously, art is beyond praise 🌺
With its monumentality, such ease of perception …
I advise you to start your acquaintance with the city from this iconic point! 👆
You can go up....
You can go down....
For me personally, it is more interesting to climb., you can feel the beauty of the opening view only by overcoming the ascent ( personal)....only in anticipation of the wonderful moment seen from the TOP, a full breath of satisfaction is possible 🤗
I will definitely come back for a new ascent and try to do it at sunset!!!
An amazing place that conquers with its splendor. On the side there is an entrance to the inner halls with exhibits of modern art. By the way, you can also take escalators to the very top there. There are many cafes at the bottom of the Cascade where you can eat delicious food. I recommend.
From here you can enjoy a stunning view of the city, picturesque, interesting architecture, you can slowly climb up and enjoy the views. Ararat is simply fascinating
In general, Yerevan is my love! The cascade, the park, but most importantly the people = the residents make this city cozy, kind, and like it is - give me a hug. Yerevan evokes such feelings. Of course, car traffic is fierce and smoking in public places is so-so)). And it's unpleasant when they sometimes try to cheat you in the market. But it's probably more of a calorific than a disadvantage.
Yerevan ❤️
Cascade is one of the wonderful places in Yerevan. There are very nice cafes at the foot. They're all good, I checked. You can walk up, but I took the escalator. Next to him in the lifting gallery are magnificent designer statues and various art objects. You drive and admire. And above there are wonderful playgrounds with flowers and fountains. But the main thing is the view of Ararat! It is beautiful at any time of the day. There you can feel the strongest energy of this holy mountain and Yerevan, which is located below.
A great place to start exploring the city of Yerevan! An incredible view, a wonderful atmosphere and an impression for a long time are provided for you! Several exhibitions are taking place in parallel, which can brighten up an extra half hour for you. Recommend
Cascade. A beautiful, interesting and amazing landmark in Armenia. A unique place in the world. A place from where you can look at the whole city of Yerevan from a bird's eye view. You can enjoy the beautiful sunset.
Yerevan Ziggurat
It seems that most tourists simply do not reach this place
Believe me, this mistake should be corrected on your next visit to Yerevan
And yes, escalators work there, even the fat ones will be able to climb to the top.
This is an amazing place:
First of all it's beautiful
Secondly, it is a museum of modern art, though in Armenian
Thirdly, it is an architectural and historical mystery.
Judging by the publications on the Internet, some of the information about the project has been lost or destroyed.
This is a very large-scale construction in terms of materials and equipment costs - it's like building a 110 m deep metro station. Soviet escalators are still operating there in huge numbers. But there are no photos of this place available at the time of completion of construction and operation of the equipment. There is nothing in the museum itself inside the building, only a general photo of the view from the street.
Wikipedia has links to a certain sponsor who allowed the object to be launched at the current time. But the base there is Soviet, which has survived to the present time. maybe Armenia is ashamed of something or just forgot.
At the base of the cascade and in the interior there is a museum quite nice but not too well maintained like the surroundings. Yerevan is truly a city of contrasts.
Sculptures, park, fantastic views of Yerevan
If you have finished reading, be sure to come here.
The "North Cascade" was designed back in the 1924 master plan, designed by architect Alexander Tamanyan. According to this project, a system of stepped passages, waterfalls and flower beds was to pass through the slopes of the Kanaker Hills. The cascade was supposed to connect the central and northern parts of the city[1].
In the 1960s, a suitable one was formed at the foot of the cascade.
An observation deck was also made there.
The design of the cascade itself was developed in the early 1970s by architects J. Torosyan, S. Gurzadyan, A. Mkhitaryan. According to their plans, an esplanade with a continuous cascade of stairs was to be laid from Tamanyan Street at the foot of the hill to the obelisk and the observation deck.
Five terrace intervals were designed on the cascade, representing open-air museums, to which escalators lead.
Flower beds, fountains and pools were supposed to be arranged on the terraces, they were supposed to have a view of Yerevan and Mount Ararat
The construction of the cascade began in 1980, and a huge amount of resources from the USSR budget was spent just on the eve of perestroika.
You can see the landscape of the old Cascade in the film ‘Airik’ starring Frunzik Mkrtchyan. He goes up the hill with an official who must be bribed to enroll his son in the institute. When he asks Frunzik where they are going up, he replies: ‘Let's go upstairs, the air is fresh there,
In 2002, at the initiative of American philanthropist of Armenian origin Gerard Gafeschyan, work resumed on the construction, restoration and improvement of the complex.
On November 17, 2009, the art museum — the Gafeschyan Art Center was opened in the Cascade. In 2011, the Aznavour Center opened near the upper tier of the Cascade
Very beautiful. We got to the concert, it was great. New statues on the territory - lighting- trees spinning and glowing in different colors - a place where people gather to experience a sense of joy
I went out on the cascade with my family, just walking around Yerevan, along the Northern Avenue. Absolutely the whole cascade was full of people who listened to different performers. The songs of Charles Aznavour, the great French chansonnier with Armenian roots, were performed on stage. The concert was dedicated to the memory of Aznavour's birthday. The cascade itself is a picturesque and colorful place, but that evening everyone was fascinated by the works of the Great Charles, whose fate is as full of vital censuses and fateful events as the fate of his historical and one of the oldest countries -Armenia. Visit, the place will not leave you indifferent, and it does not look like anything else. Take a walk, look at the sculptures in the park, and look inside the museum under the Cascade. (only quietly, few tourists realize about it). Nothing special, Soviet architecture, but when else, if not now?!))
A great place to walk and just relax! The museum is under the covered sky! There are a lot of cafes around for every taste. It's great to spend time here both in the afternoon and in the evening. The view from the Cascade is beautiful at any time. But personally, in the evening, especially, I like to take a coffee and savor the rhythm and flavor of this city... mmm
It's beautiful! It is very pleasant to take a walk, especially in the evening when the heat subsides. If you go upstairs, you have a great view of the city. Cool sculptures, there are benches, there are a lot of cafes around.
A very interesting attraction in the city of Yerevan. The composition is represented as a cascade form of the main elements of architecture
Armenia. This is a climb up the stairs with the possibility of viewing the city. It is very impressive when climbing at night. There is an escalator for climbing to the top
In general, it's not bad.
A little dilapidated, but still cool.
It is better to go up the excolator on the left and go down the stairs
All fountains with a reference to the ancient, BC, Urartu stone water supply
It is very pleasant, cool and interesting to sit at the foot of the cascade. You can go up and down inside on the escalator. In general, you definitely need to look in Yerevan , the place is pleasant
Very beautiful views of the city. You can go up on the escalator inside the building and exit to the Cascade tiers at any site. Each tier has its own design. And a very beautiful park at the foot of the complex.
A beautiful landmark, it doesn't make much sense to visit more than 1 time. However, there are many cool restaurants and colorful places in the surrounding area
It is large-scale, beautiful and, please, take the time to climb on foot, you will be impressed by the view! I highly recommend it.
Well, the statues at the entrance: a man with a little friend and an amazing madam - you will be delighted
A good place to visit while in Yerevan. From the height there is a beautiful view of the city and, of course, of Aratat. You can go up the stairs, or you can take the escalator. There is a mini park with fountains on each flight. A beautiful building!
An interesting place. A lot of people are walking down by the sculptures. Beautiful and original sculptures. The staircase itself is beautiful, many cool photos can be taken as a keepsake. At the highest point of the Cascade, the center of Yerevan is in the palm of your hand. As for the museum inside the Cascade, the chairs, the car, and other exhibits are not very clear. I'm curious to see it once.
A beautiful and already iconic place in Yerevan, you can walk outside and visit exhibitions inside the building, we are waiting for the complete transformation of the upper tier and then it will be easy to get from above to the city center and vice versa.
The Cascade is a famous landmark of Yerevan. It is a very unusual structure, the scale is impressive, the installations are interesting and the fountains are beautiful!
The Cascade is one of the sights of the city of Yerevan. Visited both during the day and at night. These are five outdoor terraces connected by stairs, where you can relax and admire the views of the city. The interior is equipped with an escalator, which allows you to go up, and only then go down on foot. Since we were in December, there was no greenery, Mount Ararat was in a haze during the day, but in the evening we saw it. Pleasantly surprised by the sculptors and art objects in the mini park in front of the Cascade. There are many cafes, bars, music is playing, I recommend you to visit.
The cascade in Yerevan is one of the famous attractions. It is convenient to visit it moving from top to bottom, but you can also do the opposite. Athletic people cross it on foot, but you can also take the escalator. The height from the foot is 302m, and the number of steps is 572. On each of the five available steps of the cascade there are convenient platforms with benches and a fountain dedicated to its theme. This place looks like an open-air museum, with works of modern art on display. I would like to see the cascade fully completed in the future. And as it is written in Luke 14:28: "Suppose one of you decides to build a tower. Won't he first sit down and calculate the costs to see if he has enough funds to finish it?" I hope that someday this will happen and the cascade will become a full-fledged attraction of Yerevan, attracting residents and tourists.
I really liked the cascade. In the evening, it is especially beautiful to look at the panorama of evening Yerevan from a height. It takes your breath away from such beauty! I hope that the upper part of the cascade will be completed, and it will be even better!
A place of romance, love and a great location for a photo. There are many good restaurants and a great view from the highest point of the cascade to the city of Yerevan
Beautiful view of the city, fountains. Here you can admire the installations of modern art, designer statues, and various art objects. There is an escalator inside. But it's better to go down on foot than up))) Unfortunately, the very top of the cascade has not been completed((
An interesting place to visit in Yerevan. The upper part is under reconstruction - we got there from the other side on an excursion. We didn't see a beautiful view of the whole of Yerevan - Ararat from the foresters. There are many different strange sculptures in the park at the foot - modern art objects)
Well maintained, beautiful view of the city. You can't see the mountain at night. There are many cafes nearby, and there is a museum inside. Overall, a worthy attraction. However, you get tired of going to the top)
One of the city-planning attractions of Yerevan! The beginning of a walking tour of the ancient city. We used Izi travel. We had a great walk along the six-kilometer walking route. We got to the city day for 2806 years!
Be sure to visit, if you are in Yerevan, a very beautiful place, even in cloudy weather you liked it, but it's better to go when it gets dark, a beautiful view of the night city.
A very beautiful place! I recommend it to all guests of the city. There is a stunning view from above. If the fountains are also working in the summer, then it must be incredibly beautiful
A very interesting object. Already on the approach to the Cascade, sculptural compositions attract attention, causing ambiguous reactions. Climbing to the top of the Cascade is a matter of honor for a tourist. The view of the city from the top landing deserves the effort made while climbing the stairs. And you can go down in different ways, not only by stairs. And it pleases. There is a place at each level to "sit and take a breath", this is for the older generation. And there are plenty of corners and places for young people to kiss. To be in Yerevan and not climb the Cascade means not to see Yerevan.
The idea and the idea, the project is super. It 's cool inside. There is a Soviet-era escalator inside for those who find it difficult to climb the stairs from the outside. The view of Ararat is cool and the city. The biggest disadvantage is the dusty exhibits inside the stairs
Very cool. Especially going down.there are more pros than cons. I'll start with the advantages: beautifully made, with a good view of Ararat from above. Cons: not completed, fountains are not working
One of the few places in Yerevan.
Despite the unfinished construction, it is very cool. The Museum (?) contemporary art on every level. The escalator is open for up to 20 hours.
It's time to go in the evening. We were lucky to have a concert dedicated to Charles Aznavour. It's very atmospheric.
Well, it's just worth going upstairs to look at the city.
Cascade is the heart of Yerevan. It connects the past and the present of the city. Over the past 30 years, it has become more soulful and unusual. The idea of Alexander Tamanyan, who created the general plan of new Yerevan, has acquired modern features. The museum, which harmoniously fits into the architecture of the Cascade, makes it one of the most picturesque cities in Europe.
When the missing tier is completed, there will be a lot of fun.
Now it is a place of attraction for both locals and tourists. There are a lot of good cafes downstairs, and amazing views upstairs. In a word, whatever your heart desires.
The museum is not my topic, so we missed it.
A very cool place! A must-visit. Various interesting sculptures by local artists. Some of them are quite brave. Everything is clean and tidy. Thousands of cafes nearby. Everything is noisy, buzzing and breathing life).
The area in front of the Cascade is quite interesting :)) There are very unusual sculptures there. Well, modern art, it is like that))
The staircase itself is cool, the central part with fountains. Nicely.
The minus star is, unfortunately, for the unfinished top of the cascade. From there, the views would be generally fire 🔥
Cascade.
It impresses with its greatness! Beautiful view of Mount Ararat, which you can admire for hours.
There are many sculptures nearby, 3 of which were created by Fernando Botero.
