Kars and the fortress of the same name are closely connected with the history of Russia. This is a key outpost that our ancestors conquered to control trade routes. There are many historical buildings built by Russians near the fortress: baths, a church, etc. If you travel by car in Turkey, be sure to include this city in your itinerary.

It is very close to the city center. Almost all of them have been newly restored. It is already written in its history that it was destroyed in 4 great wars. He is free to travel. I congratulate the authorities in that respect. He didn't put a lock on his door like the authorities in other cities. I think there's also a ruined outer castle. In addition, there are castle-style ruins on the opposite hill. The history of the castle is as follows: The castle of the city of Kars, which takes its name from the Karsak tribe that came from the Caucasus and settled in the vicinity in the years 130-127 BC, is located on a hill to the north of the city. According to the information obtained from the inscription, Kars Castle was built in 1152 by Firuz Akay, the vizier, on the orders of Sultan Melik Izzeddin during the Saltuk period. The castle was razed by Timur in 1386, and III in 1579. By order of Murat, Lala Mustafa Pasha rebuilt it. 27 Years after the inscription was written, in 1606, the Shah of Iran I. It was destroyed by Abbas and repairs and renovations were made in 1616 and 1636. Although the castle, which was destroyed again in the Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878, has been repaired, it has moved away from its original state. The castle, which is made of basalt stone, has three large gates. Old photos and engravings show that the old Kars was built around the castle. Also, my personal guess is that the age of the castle is much older than stated.
