A fabulous, traditional place, like the whole of Grodno.
Everything is delicious, fast and beautiful, which is important) pickled lard is generally a fire! Yes, with local infusions! It's not cheap, but there are plenty of guests.
The interior is quite interesting, there are several rooms, you can accommodate both a small and a large company. The basement is decorated with a lock. The staff is well trained, the menu is guided. The dishes are delicious, especially the pancakes in crispy breading.

The cafe is located in an ancient building on the basement floor, low ceilings with radial arches and many columns and small spaces, very cozy though dark (an ideal place for a beer bar).
The portions are very small, if you are hungry, you need to order soup and two hot ones (or a salad), it will cost 70-80 rubles plus a drink - in total, it easily runs up $ 30 per person - prices are greatly inflated even considering the location.
The waiting time for dishes is 40 minutes-an hour.
The kitchen is very mediocre. Draniki are fresh, borscht is 6/10, dumplings are dry and they cause heartburn. The choice of dishes is extremely limited and of the same type.

Not far from the restaurant "Belastok" there is another, no less delicious place in Grodno - this is the restaurant "Karchma". Very tasty food, national-style interior, convenient location in the city center. The staff is polite, friendly, the order was delivered quickly. The price tag is slightly above average. I visited this place 2 years ago. I liked everything- the price tag, the kitchen, the service. For old times' sake, when I arrived in Grodno, I decided to go out with my friends again. And it was a complete disappointment. Waiting for a hot meal is an hour (dumplings, Draniki), a boorish response was received to a request to hurry up the kitchen- you are not the only one. Moreover, the institution's workload was 60-70 percent. The price tag is not democratic in principle, but we were ready for it for the sake of a delicious dinner with elements of national cuisine. But we were completely disappointed. We waited for over an hour, ate in 10 minutes, got up and left. In addition, there was an unpleasant smell in the establishment (a cheap eatery), although we were sitting near the entrance and the door opened periodically.

We came again on 10/26/2024 to have dinner. I always liked everything, but this time something went wrong. After the order was brought, I realized that the composition of the salad did not correspond to what was described in the menu. An ingredient was missing, and the second one was added without warning. The second course was French fries. After eating with my spouse, more than half of the plate came across pieces with mold. There was still dessert, which was brought an hour after the order. There were apples with a musty smell in the strudel.
We didn't make a scene, apologized to us, paid and left. But the mood is spoiled. It's good that it didn't affect your health.

We visited this place on Sunday evening. We ordered dinner for three people. The waiting time for dishes is 30-40 minutes, in order to pass the waiting time, we took drinks - juice, beer and a glass of white wine. Mors and beer are nothing like that, but wine is a schmurdy, it's impossible to drink it. The dishes arrived almost simultaneously, only one of them did not match the order. They informed the waiter about this, the waiter made it clear with her grin that she didn't care - she didn't like your problems. The dish was refused. Will we come back here again?- I don't think so. There are better places.

The place has become very popular with tourists and, as a result, prices have increased and the quality has dropped significantly. First, about the advantages:
1. The cafe is quite an entourage, the style is consistent.
2. The portions are not huge, but they are not small either. The serving of the dishes is beautiful.
3. The food is really delicious, although my companion did not like the beef tongue (I tried the piece myself, and I was not thrilled). The dumplings are delicious, although they may seem bland to some. The fat is just a mess. The borscht is delicious, but there is too little meat (I don't know why I came across it that way, mb this is the policy of the institution).

5. They cook pretty quickly, and the dishes are served hot.
6. Desserts are pleasant.
Now about the cons:
1. Insanely dirty toilet!
2. The unfriendly waiters in Milan and I did not remember the name of the second girl (we were in a cafe, at 6 p.m. 06.01.25), and absolutely, judging by what I saw (except for the barista bartender)
Dear owners, if you are concerned about the reputation of your restaurant, consider this point. After all, the restaurant is not very cheap and, judging by estimates, quite popular in Grodno. People don't come to McDonald's to eat, but to a really delicious place. I still want people to be a little kinder in serving the guests.

The place is in the very center of the old town. We were the whole family. The pancakes and borscht were quite edible and even tasty. The dishes were not very large, we wanted to share a portion of soup between the children, but it turned out to be impossible here (although in the institution, which is immediately opposite, they met us halfway in the same situation). The frying pan with poultry and potato balls turned out to be a little greasier than my stomach could handle. Overall, I liked it.

We came here for lunch, traditionally ordered borscht... why do they put sour cream in the borscht right away, and spread lard on a piece of bread? They don't do this in any other restaurant in Grodno, so we relaxed and didn't even ask the waiter) It's elementary, someone may be allergic to dairy products ...) the same goes for bread with bacon) someone simply doesn't eat fat, especially a child)) and we had a child with us)
We ordered more salad and hot, there are no complaints about them, it's delicious)
The bathroom looks pretty tired) there is no toilet seat, it's definitely uncomfortable for someone)

Even I didn't understand these rave reviews. I understand that this is not fast food, that people come there slowly to communicate and spend time. But 1 hour and 20 minutes is an objectively long time to cook pancakes!!! And in all these 80 minutes, the waiter did not come up to us once, did not say that the food was delayed. I didn't offer anything, a snack of some kind. But what killed me the most was that when the food did arrive, I asked for the menu again. I wanted to choose some dessert. The menu was brought, and that's it... No one cares why I asked him. We ate and talked for another hour. But no one came up. I had to go to the bar myself, ask them to calculate and get out. And yes, there weren't many people. An empty hall. Apparently, someone worked alone, both as a waiter and a cook... I was tired and slept in the kitchen.

A lot of people, one toilet for the whole establishment, and also next to the locker room-as a result, there is a constant crowd. We considered the Tavern to be the coolest restaurant in Grodno in advance, even on Saturday evening we could not get there because of the large number of guests, we did not have reservations. Borscht for 13 rubles . It's like a canteen, but it's served with a sandwich with bacon. The broth is not rich, without sourness. Without garlic and herbs.
Classic pancakes for 13 rubles. norms, without greens, sour cream from the store.
The most fucked—up is "beef stroganoff with pancakes" for as much as 26 rubles.: served without greens, without sour cream. The meat dish itself is dominated by champignons, which are not mentioned in the menu. Please note: the ingredients are not listed in the menu at all, which allows the institution to slightly manipulate the expectations of the visitor. For this, in fact, I give 2 stars.
And finally, tea: teapots the size of a mug (300ml), for some reason we got an insular Earl grey in them, despite the fact that we ordered "fruit juniper".
That's how it turned out: 1 position will pull you to the dining room level, 1 position is OK, 2 positions are outright crap. And after all, the chosen one is the most popular in the tourist center of Grodno, which could have been worked out a long time ago and brought to perfection without losing margin.
