Been here more than 10 times over the past two years, Karas is excellent as always. The staff is friendly, food is tasty, prices are reasonable. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Yerevan!
I've been there four times. The first three - everything is wonderful, cool staff, fast service, delicious food, prices are normal. Last time, I ordered five hinkals and a caesar with me. As a result, with an almost empty landing, 7-8 people including me in the institution in total, khinkali was cooked for 42 minutes. After finishing, I went to the cashier and waited for Caesar for another four minutes, considering that the waiter left immediately after him. I can't imagine how you can do Caesar for 50+ minutes. As well as doing khinkali for 40+ minutes with an almost empty hall
I liked everything very much, the atmosphere, the cuisine, the polite staff, speak at least three languages. The atmosphere is very friendly. Portions of shish kebab, lula and other dishes are good, it is clear that they do not save, as in some establishments, 100 grams of meat per visitor... As a regular guest, they offered Armenian coffee at the expense of the establishment. I recommend
We originally wanted to get to the Tavern in Yerevan, but since the table was not booked, there were no seats, we decided to go to this institution, I must say right away that we did not expect something supernatural, shish kebab, you must agree, is the crown dish of Armenia. We came to the cafe, there were five people, the mood was wonderful, at first we waited 15 minutes for the waiter to make an order, ordered a chicken kebab, beer and salad.
After 20 minutes, beer was brought, but not poured into glasses, the waiter, when ordering a barbecue, did not even offer sauce for it, they ordered it, exactly 55 minutes later a miracle came true, a long-awaited dinner turned out to be on our table, but raw, she asked to replace the dish, after 10 minutes they brought the same, only now it was solid coals.
No one wants to solve issues and tasks and serve. What kind of service fee are we talking about? Then I just blew up, I asked the manager for what they said, he was busy, after five minutes of figuring it out, he left. I showed him the culinary masterpiece and asked: "Will you eat it? "The answer was: No, I did not receive an answer to the question why the waiter sells all this. This place does not even pull up to the level of a snack bar, let alone a cafe. I do not recommend
We were passing by and decided to have a snack with the children.
I did not expect such service and quality from Yerevan.
1. We waited a very long time to accept the order.
2. We waited 30 minutes for it to be brought.
3. Pizza tastes like eating a can of tomato paste, disgusting to the point of horror.
4. French fries with half a can of salt, if not more.
5. The club sandwich was more or less edible.
6. Kharcho tastes like lard, cold lard.
If earlier I was sure that everything is delicious in Armenia, then the stereotype has been broken here.
Everything is disgusting, starting from the service, ending with the quality of food preparation.
I do not recommend it.
Very tasty. A beautiful pitch. Pleasant environment. The staff is attentive. They brought everything quickly, we had a good time. We will definitely come again.
Unpleasant impressions from the visit.
The service is very slow and inconsiderate!
1. For a long time they ignored and did not offer a menu.
2. The waitress forgot to bring the crackers for the snack, and even, after being reminded, brought it only 20 minutes later.
3. The kebab was also served cold.
4. They just put the bill on the table and left. We sat and waited for someone to come to accept the payment.
With all this, the kitchen was very mediocre, and 10% service was included in the receipt.
For the same money, you can eat in a much more pleasant place.
A nice hostess/receptionist met us at the entrance while we were looking at the menu. She invited us inside, we didn't resist for long because we were hungry.
We ordered Imertinsky khachapuri with mint and chicken breast with yellow rice. Absolutely everything is dry!!!
There is almost no cheese in khachapuri!
Breast is a fillet's dream to dry, the meat seems to be boiled and then heated on top and in the oven until completely dry. The rice is slightly aldente. Tea is normal, beer too. The rest is terrible.
There are no complaints about the food, but the service has greatly spoiled the impression. At first, we waited a long time for someone to come up to us to take the order. Then we waited for the food to be brought to us, which also took a long time. In the end, the waitress provided the bill and left, and we had to wait a few more minutes for them to come up to us and we paid.
It feels like we need to ask on our knees to be served promptly
I chose the restaurant based on reviews, it's honestly delicious. The beef kebab is juicy, the chicken tole is not bad. The soup saved is quite interesting and unusual, I advise you to try it. The service is good, very attentive, 10% service fee as everywhere else.
They gave 6 thousand drams for two kebabs, soup, eggplant rolls and tea.
A great place - as they say, a restaurant with fast food prices!!! We were in Yerevan - we often had lunch there! I recommend it to everyone and I will definitely go there when I come to Armenia again! ❤
Despite the interior, which looks more like a dining room, this is an excellent cafe with a beautiful serving and very tasty cuisine. The portions are large, the prices are affordable. The location is in the very center, which is also convenient! I recommend it!
The portions are small. They do it for a long time. Prices are unreasonably expensive - there are much better establishments.
Lamb kebab is coals made of bones and fat! Kebabs are raw.
If khachapuri is served with vegetable salad and tea, then it's fine, but no more. It is better to eat a full meal somewhere else.
It's a good place. Excellent service. The food is well cooked. The only mahito for some reason was brought two times in different colors, although they ordered an ordinary alcoholic mahito.
A good place, delicious food, relatively inexpensive and satisfying to eat) large portions and beautiful serving, everything is great! I recommend you to visit)
Very lazy maintenance. They forget about what they ordered and carry the food for a very long time.
The food is also underwhelming. Borscht is tasteless, the metropolitan salad is dry. The kebab had a lot of eggs (for some reason).
But in the end, the waiter apologized for the poor service.
We read about this place on the Internet, liked the reviews. We arrived on the last day of our stay from Armenia. As a result, we were very sorry that we came in. We've wasted our time completely. Lunch(!) was waited for 40 minutes, although they ordered a kebab with potatoes and eggplant rolls. No restaurant in Yerevan had been served for so long, although there were few people. As a result, the potatoes turned out to be damp, the impression was spoiled.
The national cuisine is very tasty, the service is sincere, the tables are big as hospitality, I definitely recommend it. I ate lamajo and dolma, it's very tasty, I want to return to Yerevan
We have been in Yerevan for a week, despite the huge number of cafes and restaurants, we dined here very often, very tasty, the portions are large, the service is prompt, the administrator of the institution is very friendly. Dolma is just magical, lula is juicy, fish is also not inferior, 1 portion of salad can be eaten by the whole family
We had dinner here yesterday. Barbecue vegetables - stewed vegetables in a pot, all together, cooked to the consistency of mashed potatoes. Without salt, but with a taste of "burnt". It was bad
The beef burger was tasteless. The taste and color are all different, but objectively, the minced meat was like from a bad canteen.
French fries - a portion for exactly one, not for three, as you are used to in Armenia :)
the sauce for potatoes is good, buckwheat was delicious (served with sliced cabbage)
I ordered food and a glass of wine. The price of 700 drams was indicated in the menu. The receipt indicated the cost of 1400! I started to find out why and wanted to get my money back, but the waiter began to prove that he allegedly warned that he would give the wrong wine that was on the menu. But it's not true! I was counting on the price on the menu and didn't ask for anything else. Deception on the face. Apparently they expect that it is possible to deceive tourists.
We arrived from the airport early in the morning and were choosing from open establishments. We were a little alarmed by the reviews with one point, but!
- The tables here are normal
- The staff is friendly
- the password from the Wi-Fi is given without problems.
And most importantly, delicious food and large portions! I usually pay x3 for such orders! The interior is very pleasant. So everything is learned in comparison. Good luck to everyone!

The prices are cheap. The quality is the same. I'LL ANSWER AS A LOCAL...(Armenian)).I HOPE THEY DON'T DELETE MY REAL, REAL REVIEW. I got injured in the Tsakhkadzor branch.(2022)--Borscht in the summer, you see, is stale.Mmm.---
Then in the local (it was a long time ago.....), Tumanyan branch, the waiters were surprised, and they were terribly unhappy that we did not want to overeat kebabs on a warm summer evening!!!We ordered soups, you see.(I wanted to feed the kids)And salads. We waited half an hour for the order...Yes, there were a lot of people. But you could say that there are no soups and that's it! And in the end, we left half an hour later hungry.THEY SIMPLY did not bring our order, and they indifferently said that they could not bring it, that there were no first courses.! I've prepared everything I need at home))
Poor quality of the dishes:
1. Khinkali is clearly frozen, very sticky, with "blisters" /bubbles, very thick dough. And they carried it for 40 minutes :)
2. Stolichny salad is sour, a lot of mayonnaise, very heavy
3. Kharcho in bread is edible, especially without pretensions.
They asked to cancel the khinkali (they were not even touched), because they did not really want to pay in the restaurant for frozen, poorly cooked khinkali for 40 (!) minutes, to which the manager came and convinced them in every way that the khinkali was super (while confirming that they were frozen)
Price is quality. You can eat quickly! Everything is decent and meets the expectation of a cafe for a cheap price. The order was taken, but not everything was postponed, most likely forgotten. The waiter beautifully got out of the situation, depicting millennial grief and sincere indignation. I'll give you 5 for resourcefulness.
Delicious, not expensive, round the clock, clean, tidy. I can recommend the place as the first after the airport, have a snack, think about it, take a break. There is Wi-Fi, a clean bathroom. In short, there is nothing to find fault with. I recommend it!
We came here for breakfast, after a night flight. It was morning, the restaurant had just opened, there were few visitors, so they quickly prepared an order for us. We ordered dolma, khinkali, shish kebab and salad. I liked everything very much. By the way, here are the cheapest khinkali that we found in Yerevan. The waiter was polite - he came up to us as soon as we entered, answered all questions about the menu, and helped us choose a dish. We didn't finish everything - we packed it with us, no problem. It's nice that this institution is acting in accordance with the "golden rule": "In everything, do to people the way you want them to do to you." Of the cons, the Wi-Fi did not work, but it's not scary.
It's a good place.
The kebab and salad were very tasty.
But when I came the second time, it turned out that the grill was not working 🤷🏼♀️
How is this even possible in a place where you come for kebab and barbecue 😅
A wonderful place for both a family lunch and a quick snack. They serve quickly, a wide range of traditional Armenian dishes. I recommend a kebab
I will definitely come back here
I ordered a burger, not only did I wait for one burger for 40 minutes, but also the horror of what an over-salted one they brought, in general, I left not satisfied
A great place, probably the best cafe, where the food is delicious and not very expensive. We have been there several times. The staff is on top!!! I highly recommend it
Karas: bitter coffee and good food in a careless interior
In 35.7% of cases, roads in Yerevan lead to Tumanyan Street. And when you've been living here for months, you start exploring everything you haven't visited yet. In short, we looked into the Karas network and it was... fine. This is not a straight coffee shop, but rather a restaurant without pretensions, but there is coffee there, so it is on our list.
Coffee: 6
They don't bother with coffee here, because the profile of the institution is food. There are salads, sandwiches, kebabs, hash… And we traditionally took cappuccino and Americano. The cappuccino turned out to be bitter and thin, the foam fell off in a minute. I don't recommend it. But the American one is quite OK. However, it is also bitter — the grains are clearly overcooked.
And you should also know! A sandwich is a pair of thin slices of ham, cheese and sauce in a burger bun. It is, however, very tasty.
Interior: 6
It could even be good, but they didn't finish it. There are white tables and wooden chairs on the veranda. Inside, they messed up and made a wall of tiles with national (?) ornaments "under tuff".
All this lacks a designer's hand that will bring everything together, add accents and comfort. Or, if you really want to play eclecticism, you need to add mismatched chairs, pillows, tables... And, of course, you can't help but notice that the furniture here has seen a lot: attempts to scribble something, put out a cigarette on the table and swing on chairs that have become squeaky.
Music: 7
Decent pop music is playing, which is difficult to identify. That is, not hits. And all this is a little loud: although you don't have to shout over the music, you still want to turn the volume knob a little to the left.
Toilet: 7
There are two of them: male and female. Despite the fact that the institution is designed for 40-50 people, it seems to be not enough. And the toilets themselves are too small, to put it bluntly: It's cramped in there. And visually, it's not a fountain. But at the same time there is everything necessary and clean, and this is the most important thing.
Overall score: 6.5
Prices:
American — 1000 AMD
Cappuccino — 1100 AMD

@yvncoffee
I really liked the place. The staff is friendly, the dishes were brought quickly. The prices are adequate. We were at lunchtime, it is clear that the place is popular - there were enough people. Everything that was punched was pleased with the taste. I definitely advise you to visit)
It's a great place.
The perfect combination of taste, price and service. They also work 24/7. If you are in Yerevan for the first time and decide where to eat, do not hesitate, feel free to come here!
I recommend this place 👍
National Armenian cuisine. Although it is delicious, the prices are not high. The service is fast. I recommend the signature salad "Karas". There is only local beer, the best of those present is Alexandropol
I do not recommend this place! We have visited many in Yerevan, but we have not seen such an attitude anywhere else. We ordered a barbecue and potatoes on the grill. The potatoes were brought half-cooked inside, hard. They asked for a replacement, to which one waitress at first began to say that this was how it should be. Then the second one, interrupting her, said that they would take the potatoes and send them to finish cooking!.. To which I had to ask to make a new one after all, and this time it's fine. We sat for 20 minutes waiting for such a desirable potato, and the barbecue was just cooling down at that time..some of the portion of the kebab was eaten due to a wild feeling of hunger., because I had to wait for my order as much as twice. As a result, I get up, go to the waitress, say that we are leaving, because the service is just disgusting! After leaving this institution, an employee catches up with us, taking with her a guy who works in the kitchen. She starts demanding payment for the barbecue, speaks without letting me get a word in. He repeats like a mantra, "you didn't like the potatoes, but you didn't have any complaints about the barbecue?!". My arguments are that for us it was one dish in fact (it was brought on the same plate initially) and I wanted to eat potatoes and shish kebab at the same time. And not chew raw potatoes, and then, in anticipation of the second part, a cold barbecue. As far as I understand, this girl was the administrator of the institution. She was very insistent and loudly demanded payment for the barbecue, passers-by turned around. Then she started threatening that she would write something bad about us somewhere)) She also suggested that I write about them, bad reviews, which I do!) I don't see any point in paying for a spoiled mood and wasted time. Disgusting service and inappropriate threats from employees
The impression was spoiled, as they wanted to eat quickly and run on, but they cooked a barbecue for a very long time. Plus, in the end, they almost broke their teeth on the small bones inside the fillet. A huge plus is that they work 24/7.
