The Dark Church is an ancient Christian church carved into the rock in the Goreme open-air museum, with miraculously preserved frescoes with scenes from the New Testament. It's a very beautiful and mystical place, even though the cave is not big at all. The entrance fee is 6 euros (April 2025), but it's worth it. There is a church next door, also carved out of the rock with similar frescoes, but pretty battered (not by time, but thanks to the efforts of "enlightened" locals). The obvious and main disadvantage of the visit is the ban on photographing (the guards are vigilant).

The cradle of Orthodoxy - what else can you say? We've been to heaven! I didn't want to leave at all. It's expensive for the price, but it's worth it. There are many open temples. Drawings and paintings have been preserved. There was a lack of illumination in the evening. But perhaps the spirit of history is better preserved this way. I definitely recommend it!

I paid for my annual museum card, I entered the museum. And they want 100 liras to visit a dark church. It's complete nonsense. As a result, no one visits. Very silly
