A beautiful, well-groomed monastery, in which there is no formality and strictness. There are mountains and forests around, a mountain river flows at the foot, ostriches, chickens, peacocks, donkeys walk on the territory. A place where you want to return and relax here with your soul. The road to the monastery is good and paved, it is impossible to get lost. It runs through very picturesque places. Before reaching the place, there is a swimming pool and a set of water. Opposite the picnic area. You can walk there too.If you go around the monastery and go a little further, you can cross the river over a car bridge, walk through the forest and swim in a refreshing mountain river. The views there are very fascinating.Don't forget to bring carrots for donkeys and rabbits)
If you are going to relax in Abkhazia, I highly recommend visiting this monastery. The monastery itself is small, but very cozy, there are many relics, some icons stand without restoration, that is, the way they were originally created. It is a very exciting and interesting sight. There is a mini zoo on the territory of the monastery. But it takes a long time to get to the monastery and along the serpentine as it is located high in the mountains.
This place is so clean and well maintained that it stands out very much among the whole of Abkhazia. A holy mountain spring where you can collect holy water and take a dip (only in palaskin-type clothes). There is a zoo on the territory (deer, ostriches, goats, pigeons, donkeys.....) very interesting for children. Icons are dear to the heart!
The relics of John Chrysostom.
I was very impressed with the place for the first time and managed to return there three times this year.
