I was here in the middle of July with my family. Nice hotel, the rooms are clean, the furniture is new. In general, I liked everything, 2-3 minutes to the sea at a calm pace, a lot of shops, cafes around. By the way, the food in the hotel itself is very decent. We did not even expect this from Abkhazia. Special thanks to the booking department who selected a room for us according to our preferences, and to the receptionist at the reception, who politely and quickly resolved any questions that arose during our entire stay.

We rested at the hotel from 08/31/2016. Odd rooms overlook the mountains, the courtyard of the street, even rooms overlook the neighboring building. But since we had the 4th floor (there is no elevator!), the view was on one side of the mountains, and on the other partially of the sea.
The renovation is fresh. The beds are comfortable. Air conditioning, kettle, cups, hair dryer, hangers are available. The plumbing was working properly. The hotel has its own generator! This is a big plus for Abkhazia! When the lights went out, there was always hot water and light!
The hotel does not have its own dining room. The tour included breakfast. Meals at the Anna Saria Hotel, 5 minutes on foot. Not very convenient, of course. The breakfasts are passable.
The location is excellent. The sea is a 3-minute walk away. Near the main street Ardzinba, bus stop. Staraya Gagra can be reached in 10 minutes by minibus for 50 rubles.
They threw the garbage out of the room themselves. We take the garbage bags and toilet paper ourselves! During the 7 days of rest, the towels were changed 1 time. The bed linen has not been changed once.
And most importantly, rotavirus! He finally caught up with us. There are no complaints about the hotel. Unfortunately, this is a problem for the whole of Abkhazia. Do not swallow water in the sea when bathing, wash your hands more often, drink only boiled water!!! And for the prevention of polysorb.

Who writes that they took out the garbage themselves, they did not live in Gagripsha, where there is no water, birds are constantly screaming, the room was not cleaned, it was not difficult for us to take out the garbage, especially since the tank as you exit at the fence. Garbage bags and a toilet.the paper is on the floor, it's even more convenient, what's over, I took it. Considering that this is not the first time in Abkhazia, I recommend this hotel. You won't regret it. The room price is 5800 for 2 adults + a child and 6500 for 3 people. Check-in after 14, check-out before 12, our transfer was at 18.30, and since there was a late check-in to our room, we were extended to 17 hours of stay for a small fee. The room was cleaned 1 time in 9 days!!!! that is, the garbage was thrown out on its own into a tank that stands near the exit from the territory, or better, according to an elderly man close to the administration of the institution, to take it to the trash cans on the way to the beach ....
At the end of the corridor, toilet rolls and garbage bags lie on a chair, if necessary....you are welcome!
Also in the hallway there is a brush with a dustpan and a bucket with a mop and a rag for self-cleaning.
2 times I voiced a request to change the linen and replace the towels - no one scratched.
The faucet in the room was out of order, the hose burst near the watering can, they said they would do it, but no one even came to look, fortunately it was the last day...We just took off the watering can and washed like that.
The building is located facing the "central" road, our room was facing, the window could not be opened, there was noise around the clock.

Let's start with the pros) the hotel is located in a great location, the sea is a 2-minute walk away. A minimarket in the same building on the other side, tents, excursions, everything is there.
The hostess met me, she was nice, friendly, told me everything, showed me. It seemed clean, a room with a balcony. Air conditioning, TV, kettle, glasses. 2 sockets for three beds, and it's also tedious to stick a kettle in here somehow.
The breakfasts were at another Anna Saria hotel. A buffet where there were fried eggs, sausages, sometimes cutlets, buckwheat, Olivier, crab salad and pancakes with cottage cheese. Next to bread, sliced cheese, sausages, condensed milk. Well, it's okay, you can have breakfast.
Well, about the disadvantages in more detail. What was clean only seemed to us) the first thing that caught our eye was the gray, stained bed linen. Towels in the same form, for a second it even seemed that they were not washed. The blankets that were in the closet to hide when it was cool were just fine.... Garbage dumps! They stink, dirty, greasy. They haven't been washed for probably at least two years, if they've been washed at all at least once. Having disdained such a blanket, it was decided not to use it at all.
Then there was a bathroom with a toilet. The handle fell off, the door opens and closes only with a kick. The lights are constantly turned off, as if a light bulb is burning out. We had to solve the issue ourselves. The toilet is leaking, there is water on the floor, the watering can fell off when the shower was turned on. There is no soap. Shower curtain.... I do not know what happened to her, as if someone regularly peed on her. The stench is wild and unsanitary. You need to take toilet paper in the hallway yourself (well, that's okay). The windows are dirty, the curtains are dirty, the clothesline is torn off. Mattresses are sagging and uncomfortable, pillows too.
Cleaning in 10 days was done a couple of times, towels were changed three times and bed linen was brought 1 time. They took out the garbage themselves.
They drank boiled water, they took drinks only in bottles, they poured nothing and did not take it on the street, when they saw a stream going into the water at sea, they decided to go 500 meters away, but this did not save anyone. Absolutely everyone got sick with the terrible rotavirus. There is a strong suspicion that all the furniture in the room and the dirt are simply soaked with disease. You probably won't be able to protect yourself in such an environment. There you need to call a team to wash and disinfect everything.
The staff is normal. The rooms are extremely dirty and broken. The location is great. There is no cleanliness, just mold and dirt.
The rest was very blurred because of this.
I strongly advise the management to do a thorough cleaning of the hotel and monitor the cleaning of the rooms. I hope someday this place will be clean. But it's up to you to check it or not on your health)
We liked the hotel, wonderful hosts and receptionist. The room is nice, clean, modern, comfortable, everything is available. In the corridors on the floors of the apartment-it's nice, not stuffy. Good location geographically, 2 min walk to the sea.

A new hotel, not all rooms are rented yet. All rooms are large, about 20 sq.m., the only difference is that the triple rooms have balconies and mountain views. These are odd rooms, and even rooms (double standard) have no balconies and some windows are adjacent to another building, which is 2-3 meters away. We stayed here for a week in May 2024, took a double standard, there were few guests in the hotel. We were provided with a triple room 21 with a balcony and a wonderful view of the mountains without any additional charge. Thanks to the hostess and the administrator Irina, very nice and helpful people. The hotel is located in Novaya Gagra, very conveniently located, 70 meters from the beach, the same distance to the boarding point for the excursion (Volodya, 108 Ardzinba Ave.), By the way, his wife can cash out a small amount of 5-10 rubles from the Mir card, which helped us when the cash was already running out. In many shops and for excursions, you can pay by transfer from the Mir card. We went to the cafe Leto to eat, 106 Ardzimba Ave., we really liked the spicy Kharcho and Meat in Abkhazian style in a beef pan. Cafe Boat and Natasha were not impressed.

The only unpleasant moment is the tourists. Who come back after 10 p.m., and you're already asleep. Laughing in the hallway and talking loudly on the phone on the balcony, etc.
We booked a room for the 2nd day. They immediately indicated that there would be 2 adults, 1 child and a small dog. The correspondence has been preserved. Upon check-in, the receptionist made big eyes and said that living with animals is strictly prohibited. Then they said wait, we'll decide, but we haven't decided anything in an hour. We found our own place nearby. While they were still waiting there, I managed to notice that their wi-fi does not work at all, the router is the weakest to look at. The first time I encountered this, I was in different hotels from Vladivostok to Moscow, and only in Abkhazia is such a shame. They completely ruined the impression. So I don't advise contacting them. And they have Parking for 5 cars, they also promised when booking, but as soon as they arrived, so check-in upon release

There is no noisy promenade or cafe with music. The windows overlook the courtyard, as the ground floor. The water was always hot. Condey was saving at lunchtime. The electric power was turned off in the area, and the generator immediately turned on. There was a parking place for the car, everything is under supervision. I don't know about the other rooms, but in ours I would have replaced the mattress, the springs were felt. And so, we were satisfied with the hotel and we would like to mention the hospitable and responsive manager, Ophelia!
We had a rest in July, booked 8500 per room in Twill. The hotel is new, close to the sea (really 3 minutes on foot), the room has a kettle, cups, refrigerator, Internet is not very good, but in general it will do. The only thing is the rooms are small. There is no territory of its own, there is no kitchen, but there is an inexpensive store nearby. We didn't find any normal canteens nearby, we ate at Maria's cafe (don't be fooled by what the canteen says, this is a cafe). The prices are too high, for 2 + 2 lunch cost about 2 thousand rubles. with a modest set of dishes.
The beach is good, but swim carefully, somewhere 5 m from the shore there are fragments of some kind of pier or breakwater with protruding rods. Well, the boats come to the pier over the heads of vacationers :). But compared to the crowds of people on the beach in Adler, it's still good.
The hotel did not like the fact that the owners demanded washing or payment for our set of clothes upon departure after they found some stains on it. I think this is unacceptable behavior for them, the first time such a thing has been encountered in many years of rest.

Booked 3 rooms in advance. We made an advance payment. On the eve of check-in (the evening of the previous day), we get a call from this hotel and they say that our rooms are flooded, the plumber will come only in a few days, so we will not be able to check into our rooms right away. They offer either to refund the prepayment, or to move us to another place during the renovation of the rooms. We choose another place. Upon arrival, it turns out that what they offer us is located on a mountain, on a narrow street, without the possibility to place our car there, and in general it looked like some kind of creepy private house and sooo far from the sea. We didn't even go in there to look. As a result, they took their prepayment. Let's go in search of a new place. Naturally, in the height of the season and in fact it is very difficult to find something, especially 3 rooms at once. When communicating with the locals, it turned out that this is a normal practice for this hotel. It is done like this: they check in the room of vacationers who booked the room before you, and if your booking start dates coincide with their dates of the last days of stay, then you are told that the room is flooded)))) so that the previous ones live to the end of the booking. counting on the fact that you have nowhere to go, it is sooo difficult to find something to live in one place without constant moving, since everything is usually busy in the season and if there are free dates, then day-2 in one place, day-2 in another ...

We rested at the Calypso Hotel from September 20 to October 1. Great location, 2 minutes slow walk to the sea, the sea is clean. Everything is within walking distance. The owners are a miracle!!!!! Everything will be told and shown. Excursions can be taken directly at the hotel. Cleaning is done every day. If you need to change the linen or towel, they told the girls who clean the rooms and changed everything. There is Wi-Fi. There is a dining room on the way to the sea, the menu is monotonous, but you will not stay hungry. If you want wine or chacha for lunch, everything is in this dining room. We will definitely return to this hotel.
The hotel is excellent, the room is cleaned every day, the room is new and clean, there is a refrigerator, 20 channels work, wi-fi does not always reach the room, there is a good signal on the ground floor, when the light is turned off, the generator is immediately turned on, the beach is close, a decent place to relax, I recommend 👍👍👍

The hotel itself is clean and bright. Rooms with balconies, spacious, have everything you need.
The only thing is that the mattresses are too hard, there is not enough hair dryer in the bathroom and hygiene supplies (there is only hand soap).
The sea is a 2-minute walk away. In the same building there is a minimarket from the street.

There is boiling water on the floor for tea and coffee around the clock. It would be possible to rent a hair dryer to the owners. We didn't take it, we thought it would be at the hotel. There are not expensive canteens nearby. A good selection of dishes.

I had a rest in August 2022. The hotel is nice, almost new. There are two beds in the room (double and one and a half) + a small sofa. Refrigerator, TV, individual air conditioning. There is no kettle, but there is a large thermopot in the hallway. The staff is friendly. Cleaning and replacement of bed linen and towels is on request. You go to the sea, gave the keys and said that you need to change the towels or wash the floor or something else and everything is always done upon return. WiFi is available, but barely alive, and sometimes not at all. You can read the news, but you can't watch the movie. Wifi works well only when the lights in Gagra are turned off - the load drops, and this hotel has a huge plus - its own generator, so there is always light. There are a lot of places around where you can have a snack, I highly recommend the "Soviet canteen". The sea is physically very close, but in fact 15-20 minutes walk and that's why: To the right and left of the passage to the sea, two streams flow into the sea, the smell of which leaves no doubt about their content, so you have to move to the right or to the left, depending on the direction of the wind. Also, headless sellers of hydro scooter riding services add distance, they literally ride over their heads, so after moving away from the rivers, you need to go a little further into the fenced area to drive the hotel - they do not swim into such zones. The whole sea turns out to be for non-towered scooter sellers, and for guests only fenced reservations... In general, the hotel is good, there are no complaints about it, but there are so many complaints about Abkhazia that I will never return there and will not advise anyone.
