A super museum, many masterpieces, but old and dirty, so many exhibits are transported to the new Museum of Egypt and the museum of Egyptian civilization.
We were on 04.01.2022 on an excursion from TezTur, by bus from Hurghada. I really liked it. At the entrance, everyone was given walkie-talkies with headphones to listen to the guide's story. There are a lot of people. I recommend.
There are many interesting expositions, but it is unclear where to get an audio guide. I ask, they don't understand. If someone speaks Russian, they don't understand what is needed. We walked around the halls , walked without him. Translating the inscriptions from English was a little tedious. Tutankhamun's mask cannot be photographed, the guard shouts in a wild voice at the photographers

A real immersion in history. It is especially interesting to visit the museum after an excursion to Luxor
Many exhibits were taken out, but the worst thing is that payment is only by visa card, Russian cards do not work, they do not take any cash, you need to go through 1000 circles of Hell to get there
A real, classic old museum. The exposition is clearly overloaded with exhibits. But they are so priceless! The museum is moving, already literally on suitcases. I would like to have some kind of museum in this building anyway, or a part of it remains.
An impressive museum!
If you were in Cairo and didn't visit the museum, you didn't see anything!

Huge crowds of people, excursions are very fast, you can't really see anything. The museum itself is very dirty, everything is covered in dust, some of the halls are closed for repairs
They were in November 2021. Video shooting is prohibited in the halls, but you can take pictures everywhere except in the hall where the exhibits made of gold are stored. There are a lot of exhibits, and half of them were not bypassed in an hour and a half. I will be happy to come back again
The most complete collection of artifacts on the ancient history of Egypt. Unfortunately, and perhaps fortunately, the museum is moving from the center of Cairo to the outskirts
